This is, probably, the lowest price acceptable hotel in the area. You can even like it if you are not afraid of - - toilet and the shower cabin in the room itself; - steep narrow stairs and no elevator; - no AC, no frig; - no batteries in TV RC; - slow WiFi. The best is the staff. They are very friendly and responsive to any problem, although their solutions are restricted.
This is a cheap hotel in the center of Brussels with a free wifi, with clean rooms and very polite staff, but with no breakfast and no elevator. Very noisy neighbors shouting in the middle of the night.
Staff were polite and helpful. Location was neither good nor bad. Near to transport links (via underpasses), but hilly broken walkways and roadworks through the bustling Red Light District. Not the fault of the hotel of course but it all plays a part. 24 hour reception which is manned and secure as the front door is locked. Excellent shopping street adjacent with varied goods and restaurants. Easy to walk to Grand Place etc. Bedroom was nothing like the management pictures. Beds were comfortable but not very hygienic looking. We requested low floor and got top floor. Steep dark stairways with a strange odour and timed lighting which turns off too soon as you climb. Linen and towels were changed regularly which was excellent as the weather was extremely humid. Plenty of hot water but no plug stopper... The "debris" under the beds was a whole new world on it's own! I can't say it was cheap in comparison to other hotels of similar rating. I'd say this hotel could be back on track after a deep clean and some attention paid to the mix/match furnishings and bathroom "catastrophe's". I have sympathy for it as it has been allowed to regrade. Would I stay again - undecided.
As can be seen in previous reviews, I have stayed in this hotel before. I travel to Brussels a few times a year and usually choose this hotel or a couple of others that belong to the same owner. This is not the most glamorous of hotels but it does the job. It offers me a place to stay at a good price, central location close to the train station and also the metro, a clean room and usable wifi. The hotel is a bargain when considering what you are paying for. This is not a hotel for luxuries, it is a hotel where people go on a budget. Recommended for budget travelers like myself.
In few words: low price, narrow stairs, clean room, good bad, poor breakfast. Now they have free WiFi all over hotel and the speed is still acceptable. Location is good, at night is quite location. Staff is OK.
I am mr jahid hossain . I am from Portugal . Last week 7 th of November 2015 I was stay with my friends hotel Albergo . It was two star but quality is 000 means nothing.there is very slow internet service . There is no hot water, matrix cover is very dirty, all to gather very very low quality service
Pros: Very friendly staff. Cheap, basic but very decent breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Good wifi (on ground floor room). Cons: narrow toilets. Hot water problematic, but fixed by staff. Location is red light district (but close to metro).
I stayed here for a recent exhibition and found the hotel to be overpriced and very out of date and in need of a thorough clean. Show head didn't stay on the wall so had to hold it, bed uncomfortable and the room had obviously endured a fair amount over the years so it just didn't feel very clean. The people running it were nice enough but for a business trip where you want to get a good sleep I would not recommend it. Also the restaurants nearby were not good or many. Really not a good place in my opinion.
I am researcher already 40 years and have active collaboration with researchers abroad, but did not succeed to visit Brussels. And facility appeared this year in September. I looked for average price hotel close to city center, and Hotel Albergo was my right chose. I am very satisfied - thanks budgetplaces.com a lot!
We spent a month backpacking around Europe and found that this double room in a hotel was one of the cheapest accommodation in Brussels -cheaper than any shared dorm hostel in the city. For our needs it was perfect. Yes it was basic and a bit on the shabby side but everything was clean and did it's job. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location good! If you're not looking to spend vast amounts of time in the hotel and, like us, are looking for purely somewhere to sleep, I would definitely recommend it.
