We stayed for two nights in March. We were given a beautiful double bedroom with a four poster bed that overlooked the rear of the hotel. Not quite as beautiful as the four poster we had last year overlooking the canal, but still luxurious and gorgeous. The bed was extremely comfortable and had beautiful linen. We received a warm welcome from Nicolas and he couldn’t have been more helpful throughout our stay. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, fresh milk was provided at reception. The whole hotel is decorated beautifully throughout. With paintings on the walls in many of the rooms. We didn’t try the breakfast as it seemed quite expensive at €25 per person. The hotel has a pool and sauna, this was a lovely extra. It would have been better if the sauna was heated up prior to going in there. Maybe it would be an idea if you could phone reception beforehand to make them aware of you coming down to use it. The bar area was warm and cozy, although €14 for a drink is quite expensive for us. Also bear in mind the parking is €30 per night, it is secure and convenient, but this has gone up €5 from last year and I can’t see whether the extra cost has come from as it’s all the same. You are provided with robes and one wear slippers in the room. We aren’t particularly large people but the robes were on the small size, especially for a man! All in all an absolutely wonderful stay, we will definitely return and would definitely recommend to others.
We stayed here with another couple for a weekend trip to Bruges. We were blown away by the hotel. The canal view rooms we each had were stunning and huge- I would thoroughly recommend booking these. The staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful and friendly and the bar was gorgeous too. Location is perfect- a 15 minute walk from Bruges station and right in the centre of Bruges so everything is walkable. We didn't do B&B as we wanted to try breakfast at different places but the restaurant looked gorgeous. I would definitely return to this hotel!
I did a lot of research on Trip Advisor before choosing a hotel for my three night stay in Bruges. I almost booked a different hotel, but at the last minute changed my mind to Hotel De Tuilerieen and I am so happy that I did. Firstly, the location of this hotel is fantastic. It is a 20 minute walk from the railway station through scenic roads and is located opposite a canal. From the moment I walked up the steps at the main entrance I knew I had made the best decision to stay here. I was warmly greeted by the staff on Reception and check-in was quick and easy. The Receptionist carried my case to the elevator and showed me to my room. I chose a room with a canal view and was given Room 242. It was beautiful! An incredibly comfortable 4-poster bed greeted me (I slept like a baby) , and elegant furniture filled the room. There was flattering and relaxing warm lighting, plenty of lamps, a TV and a writing desk, small side tables and chairs. There was a decent sized wardrobe too which contained a mini bar and bathrobes. In the room was a kettle with tea and coffee-making facilities. I asked for fresh milk which they supplied free and I kept it in the mini bar. The room itself had plenty of power sockets which I alway view as a good thing. There's nothing worse than relying on you mobile phone as an alarm clock yet having to plug it in at the opposite side of the room but luckily there was a power socket next to the bed. There were two large windows that overlooked the canal and even at night the view was beautiful. The bathroom was glorious. A huge bath, two separate sinks and mirrors, a loo and a shower cubicle with plenty of space and bright lighting. The hairdryer was in the bathroom and they also supplied unscented toiletries. This is such a good idea as there's nothing worse than over-scented toiletries which clash with your own fragrances. I chose to have breakfast each morning at the hotel. Yes, at 25 Euro it's pricey but all hotels in the area are priced the same, and it's also a very good spread. Choose from fresh fruits, cooked meats and ham, pastries, a range of breads, yoghurts, cooked hot food, cereals and chocolates. Oh and they had muffins and (my favourite) macarons too. Choose from tea, coffee, water, juice or even prosecco. It was all unlimited and included in the price. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Each morning the woman who served everyone greeted me warmly and remembered me (and my preferred type of tea). Although the breakfast area was small it was never over-crowded (perhaps some people chose to breakfast at nearby cafes?) and it was so relaxing to dine here before a busy day of sightseeing. My first evening at the hotel I had a glass of prosecco at the bar inside the hotel. It's quite an old-fashioned yet relaxing bar and the bar tender was friendly and attentive. I was served cheese, nuts and ham free of charge with my glass of prosecco so it was excellent value too. You cannot dine at the hotel in the evening or at lunch time but don't let this stop you. If you want a romanic, boutique-style hotel with friendly staff, an excellent location and with wonderful facilities then you should definitely book this hotel. I highly recommend paying extra for a room with a canal view too. I went in Winter so had no issues with mosquitos but do bear this in mind if you travel in summer due to the close proximity to the canal.
This hotel is rather charming. It is in a wonderful location in Bruges. Our room was gorgeous, an executive canal view room. I would have liked a bit better quality of bed linen but that’s a personal preference of mine as I like a very high thread count in my bed linen. My husband found the bed and linen very comfortable. I could also hear the traffic outside early in the morning which would wake me up but this is because the hotel is on a fairly busy road for Bruges. If I returned to the hotel I would not choose a canal view for this reason. The bar in the hotel was great. I particularly loved the open fire as the weather was extremely cold outside. The champagne and wine at the bar was of a great standard. The service was pleasant but very formal. We tried to have a joke a couple of times with the staff at the hotel but this wasn’t received well. No one was rude, but perhaps did not know how to take our humour. I would recommend this hotel and would return.
Was glad we booked this boutique style hotel as a last minute place to stay. The hotel was in a perfect location, only 2 minutes from the main square and overlooking the canal. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the fire in the bar made it a cosy area to relax in after spending hours in the freezing cold last weekend! Only one downside based on the room we stayed in was the lack of a shower mounted on the wall due to the slope in the ceiling. This made if difficult to take a shower. However this is one of the best rooms we have stayed in, plenty of mirrors and windows to bring in natural light! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
Excellent hotel . Very comfortable and spotlessly clean . Our room Was warm and cosy , the bathroom spacious and every amenity at hand . Breakfast was great and the Staff on reception very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly which made us feel So special. Definitely a great place to stay in Bruges .
Really loved our stay at this hotel . second time here and in the 6 years since our last visit it has even got better . highly recommended for a stay in Bruges . great central location 2 mins from the bell tower and close to all the major attractions. Great rooms great staff 5 stars
We arrived at the hotel at about 10am, well before our check in time. Reception staff could not have been more welcoming, I felt like they were genuinely pleased to see us. There was no problem with us leaving the car in the car park straight away ( do book ahead ) and we were off exploring the city straight away. When we came back to check in properly we were delighted to find we had been upgraded and instead of our basic double, we had a duplex suite over 5he old cart lodge at the back of the car park. Service was fantastic throughout. The room was warm and comfortable. Coming back to a roaring fire at the hotel bar after a cold evening of exploring was just perfect. Breakfast the next morning was great too, lots to choose from. When we checked out we were allowed to leave the car in the car park until we left the city in the early evening which was so convenient. Overall, this hotel is fantastically positioned for everything you want to see in Bruges. It’s warm, comfortable and inviting and above all else, the staff are fantastic. I could not praise them highly enough. When I return to Bruges, I will not consider staying anywhere else. Thank you.
Ideal location for the old town of Bruges. The room on the ground floor was comfortable and staff quickly attended to our needs. Lounge decor a little dated and the pool small. Didn't take advantage of breakfast as so many local cafes available.
When booking this hotel they were very prompt with responses and came across caring and efficient. On arrival we were greeted and welcomed and shown to a good sized room on the top floor which appeared clean and well appointed. However on closer inspection there was a radiator cover panel coming away and chips and marks on a lot of the paintwork which made it look rather scruffy. Everything worked and the bed was comfy and clean. However we had one very minor issue, the in room hot drink tray didn’t have enough milk, two short, we could have gone to reception to collect more or asked them to bring some up but we didn’t bother, we made do. On checking out we were asked if everything was alright with our stay and we replied yes no problem just one very minor thing the missing milk and to our amazement instead of the person apologising he became confrontational and told us that we should have raised this with reception so it now appeared to be us that caused the problem not their failure to stock the tray properly. We won’t be visiting this hotel again, its surprising how such a very minor issue can be mishandled leaving us to drive away talking about the behaviour of the front desk staff. We will be going back to L’Orangerie next time, it’s comfier, and the staff know how to deal with customers.
