This is a great choice for a classic small hotel right in the very center of Bruges. It is right on the canal and is so picturesque when you step outside the hotel. Simple furniture and very basic. They could really use some softness to the room, such as a rug on the bare floor, extra pillows in the room, and maybe a throw at the end of the bed. Very nice view from our suite and it was clean. They are very skimpy on the size of the soap bars, and that was also disappointing. This is an okay choice for a hotel, because it was quiet and is owner operated. Very nice breakfast served from friendly and warm staff. Just needs to be more elegantly furnished for the price one pays. We were able to walk to all of the shopping and restaurants. We rented bikes ever day from a near by shop. The bike riding to Dammes was amazing! We also rode around the outskirts of Bruges and really enjoyed that too. Will definitely go back to Bruges, just think they are so much nicer hotels all over the place that are nicer.

What a beautiful old-world hotel right near the center of Bruges and fronted by a canal. You will go back in time viewing the front entryway to the hotel with its black and white tiled floor and old furniture and detailing. The front desk staff were welcoming and very helpful. Our immaculate room overlooked the canal and was just gorgeous and very comfortable. We slept like babies! Breakfast was served in a magnificent room on the first floor featuring beautiful mural-ed walls. Great coffee and tea were on offer and the buffet featured eggs and bacon and sausage and other fixings plus great pastries and bread and yogurt and fruit. A fantastic way to face the day and a most memorable hotel.

Our first visit to Bruges and we were delighted with our choice of hotel. The location is perfect for exploring the city, and to wander around in the evening. If you arrive by Coach its only a 10-15 minute walk to the hotel, so easy to find also. We had room only so cant comment on the breakfasts ( I believe 25 euros p/p) and there is a bar open from 8am to 2 pm also. Our room was right up in the Gods, but the 2 velux window were at a height to give us fantastic views over the city and canal. We had a small mini bar, tea/coffee making and water etc All as you would expect. The only criticism was the mattress in the room - it was clearly not new, and a bit lumpy to be honest, other than than fantastic. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful , made us feel very welcome which is so often not the case in city hotels.

It a nice hotel in a good location but bit pricy for four stars or perhaps they should offer an evening turndown, we stayed in the suite , nice room with the view of the canal but we can hear the conversation of the people next room. Very friendly and helpful staff , a dog friendly hote .

This hotel combines the uniqueness of a small luxury hotel with modern amenities and quintessential Bruges charm! The staff are wonderful and the place is lovely and clean. Everything is in walking distance. The breakfast is worth it, so eat here. There is more food than you’ll know what do eat and who could resist a plate if Belgian chocolates to round out your meal. We will definitely choose this hotel for future stays in Bruges!

Beautiful and elegant historical home of 17th doctors converted to a hotel. The windows are glazed with antique Venetian crystal glass - OMG! Our room was lovely, traditionally styled and bright. They honored my request for a room with a beautiful canal view. Service to our room was excellent - what ever they could do to make us comfortable was very appreciated after a 4 hour trip from Amsterdam. After dinner drinks in the charming salon with a bar and fireplace was enjoyed. We were disappointed we did not have time for their indoor heated pool and saunas. The in house breakfast buffet was the best we had in 3 countries over 7 days. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Appalling service and inflexible manager (Kristof) Booked hotel for 8th May (one night). Had to change date to 27th May (one night). Rooms were available but the hotel Manager refused to change my booking and insisted I also had to pay for 8th May. He said it was company policy because of the type of booking (no flexibility) I had made. I proposed paying an additional EUR 100 to the hotel for the change of date but he just kept repeating like a robot that it was 'company policy'. Clearly as the manager of the hotel he could have made the change I requested but rather than being a helpful human being he preferred to just take my money. Having lived in Bruges in the late 1980s, I can say with certainty that in the past hoteliers and business in general in the city had a different approach to visitors. Back then you were treated in a civil fashion. Now, for some like Kristof and the Hotel De Tuilerieen visitors are just anonymous people passing through who can be fleeced and exploited to the maximum. Rather sad.

Lovely stay at Hotel De Tuilerieen. Great location with well decorated rooms and friendly staff. The hotel doesn’t serve lunch or dinner which is a shame as it is a lovely place to be. Great bar, terrace and swimming pool all set within this handsome historic property. We had a royal executive room which was huge and a very nice place to spend 3 nights.

We staid only 24 hours.... staying at De Tuilerieen was just wonderful ! Forget the chain rooms, welcome in elegant large rooms, renewed quite recently with all the best comfort and a charming old set-up, you feel like a prince and a princess in a castle ! Actually a significant number of celebrities left their autograph and dédicace in the hotel, including princess ! You can find their picture next to the lobby and the entrance ! The staff is super nice and truly there to help and make sure you enjoy and get most of it in Bruges ! The hotel is super quiet and ideally located in the historical city center, you can forget cars and bus, go everywhere by foot ! Tired once back at the hotel: enjoy again the wellness with sauna and swimming pool ! Or just have a drink on the terrace outside if the weather is OK. Breakfast is just perfect with simple products but so natural and fresh: delicious....

It was a real treat stay at De Tuilerieen. We loved our bright room with four poster bed with the canal view. It was clean and spacious and the luxury touches in the bathroom and free bottled water made it feel extra special. The whole building is beautiful especially the grand staircase, bar and breakfast room. Speaking of breakfast the choice available was vast even including Easter eggs! We were showed to a table our hot drink order was taken and then you help yourself to the hot and cold buffet. The bar in the evening was small and cosy the fire was lit for us as we sat. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel location is ideal right in the middle of Bruges. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope to return soon.
