The hotel is set in an immense and beautiful park some 15 miles outside Edinburgh. It is the ideal place to spend a relaxing weekend.
A lovely and peaceful setting; nice accommodations, fitness facilities and pool, and gardens. However, a bit far from Edinburgh's City Centre. There is a train leaving almost every half-hour from a nearby station (5-min. drive), but we found they run less frequently later into the evening back from Edinburgh, and then one whole weekend that train line was out of service. Pleasant hotel was less restful on the morning the fire alarm went off at about 6:30. Hotel's restaurant had charming rooms, but service was not great, and the duck entree was so tough it was impossible to cut (let alone chew).
