Flying into Beef Island you can see Scrub Island. It looks enormous from the other side. You walk out of the airport, and a shuttle van is there to greet you for a quick drive across the airport to Trellis Bay for the water taxi. The ride across is about 5 mins or so. The place looks massive, but it is actually small/intimate since it's the only on the entire island. The marina is great and right out front with easy access. The rooms all have ocean views and balconies. We had a one bedroom which had a large balcony from the living room to the bedroom. The one bedrooms are good size and set up like a condo. The washer and dryer in room is a great benefit. The bathroom is the size of the bedroom. The kitchen have everything you need but we never cooked but did eat in room/ balcony a few times. The restaurants are all good and there is also a deli with good sandwiches and just as good pizza to carry out. Also a mini store for all your basic needs if using the marina. The north side beach is very secluded and we never had an issue to have a sun chair. There is also food and drink service there. The staff go out of their way to help and just greet you and say hello. They will set up anything and everything you could possibly need. Including a surprise birthday cake!! It really does take a great team to work together to make things run smoothly and they really do it well. A special thanks to Dale Mapp who went above and beyond for us - many many times and on so many different levels throughout our stay --- there are just too many to list !!!) but up to and including staying late after he was off for setting up the best surprise for me! Dale you are amazing ! It's a great location to day hop other islands or rent a car and explore Tortola. The only issue I would point out is the steps everywhere. They have a cart that will take you to north beach but just getting to your room can require a lot of stairs. The Marina is flat with a ramp but almost all rooms have stairs to get to them so please be aware of you have an issue with climbing them. We loved Scrub Island and would recommend staying there as part of exploring BVI !

We just got back from our 5 day stay at Scrub Island. We flew to Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas) and took the Ferry to Road Town. Then a taxi to Trellis Bay, then got the free ferry over to Scrub. It was a lot of traveling, but well worth it! The views were spectacular. We were greeted on the ferry from Trellis Bay and asked what type of welcome drink we would like (rum punch or fruit punch). They took care of our bags from that point forward and put us in full relaxation mode. The check-in was quick. We got a quick tour to get our bearings. It was our 5 year anniversary and we were greeted in our room with a complimentary bottle of champagne with a sweet little note! It was a Wednesday night and they had a pig roast at North Beach that night. We decided to leave the resort and go to another restaurant the concierge recommended. It was so easy to navigate to our destination using the ferry system. However, another couple said the Pig Roast was a lot of fun (I think there were fire dancers there). The bed was extremely comfy, our balcony overlooked the marina and the views were indescribable. One day there was a rainbow over the Island across the way. We ate at the Tiera Tiera restaurant one night. The service was great. The staff is very sweet and friendly. The infinity pool and swim up bar was relaxing. One night we played Jenga beside the pool and listened the the ocean. The turn down service was fun too. They would leave a little something each night and turn on some music so when we got back to our room, the music was playing and we had some treats waiting for us on our bed. We ate a lot at the Deli. The breakfast sandwiches were yummy and the tuna sandwich was oddly the best thing we ate during our stay. We took a Kayak over to honeymoon beach and then took it over to Marina Cay and had lunch at Pusser's. Then we came back and got a shuttle to North Beach. We really wanted to go to Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke while we were there. The concierge helped us charter a boat with another couple to split the cost. It was an epic trip and we got to go to way more Islands than we originally expected! The gym at Scrub is nice! My husband and I are avid gym goers and I was so impressed with the equipment! Lots of weight machines, dumbbells and cardio equipment. Or you can hike up to Sunset point and get your workout that way:) Our trip to Scrub was nothing short of amazing. We've only been home for a few days and I already want to go back!

We just returned from a family vacation at Scrub Island Resort. The rooms were spacious, the living / kitchen area was great for the evening. The restaurant for dinner was delicious and the servers were kind and professional. Plus, the views and the green / blue water was gorgeous.

We loved Scrub Island. After coming off of a catamaran for 7 days, Scrub Island had everything we needed to relax and rejuvenate! Rooms are gorgeous, plus Washer and dryer in the room was great addition, so you don't have to travel home with salty, wet clothes. We enjoyed every meal (except one...don't get the "prime" steak, but we should have known better) and the pool, beach, water trampoline, kayaks and water slide were great at keeping the kids entertained. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we loved the water taxi that would take you to the neighboring islands (Marina Cay and Trellis Bay on Tortola) Be sure to snorkel the reef over by Marina Cay (Diamond Cay Reef I believe) we saw lots of coral, fans, turtles and rays over there. One of the best spots we saw on the 10 day long trip. Will plan to go back...loved Scrub Island!

Stopped here with 3 boats as part of a 7 day BVI Catamaran trip. Without question this was the best marina we visited. A little pricey but totally worth it. The dock master was clear in his entry instructions, very helpful on the dock and could not have made us feel more welcome. The minute we stepped off the boat they greeted us, explained check it, trash collection, laundry, etc. And...the best marina showers we've ever seen. People in our group were going up to shower in the marina facilities just because they were so nice. Pool bar/slide/restaurant were fabulous. Kids and adults agreed it was a favorite stop of the trip. Great respite from being on anchor a couple of nights. Have to commend the staff as providing excellent service from the dock, to checkin, the bar, the shops, the wait staff---A+++ service all around. We'll be back for sure!

We spent 3 nights here as part of an anniversary trip which started in St Thomas. We didn't know what to expect! We were greeted at the port and had a very personalized check in experience. We had an upgraded room which was beautiful. I cook enough at home but if you want to cook it had a serious Wolf range and Sub Zero refridgerator:) What I liked a lot was that you could choose to enjoy the remote island or take trips to other islands. We really only had 2 full days because of travel. One was spent on the island. We took a hike up to Big Scrub which was amazing! Highly recommend if you are into that. We also went to North Beach where we were the only ones there:) We took a day trip to Virgin Gorda and the Baths which is something to be seen! Truly amazing. If you have time, don't miss Hog Heaven which is owned by Richard Branson. Our cab driver gave us a tour of Virgin Gorda which was a plus. Back to Scrub Island. There are 2 restaurants, each of which we went to. They are both great. This is a truly unique experience (at least for us) where the hotel is the only property on the island. I would love to go back and spent a few days there again. The only two comments I would make which is not the fault of anyone but my expectation was that since it was so exclusive the service would be over the top, sort of what we experienced being on the Club Level at the Ritz Cartlon in St Thomas. It is not. You are kind of on your own which is fine, just not what I expected. I would definitely return. The other thing I noted was that with every room you have to walk many steps there are no elevators. Where our room was, there was a ramp but if you have walking issues (I have an elderly father so I take note of this where I go) I would just check as I am sure there is handicap access. Not an issue for us. A big shout out to Lou the concierge who was amazing and helped fill in the blanks for us for our plans and gave us great helpful hints as well as making reservations as off property restaurants.

This resort is absolutely first class. The amenities, rooms and service met our every expectation. We really don't agree with some reviews which complain about high prices. Given the remoteness of the resort and corresponding cost of obtaining goods and labor, we thought that prices were fair. We liked the fact that this isn't a "mobbed resort" teeming with people. It is a refined, well-nuanced experience to be here as an appreciated guest. We recommend that you partake in two special experiences here - the kayak trip to Honeymoon Beach, and a visit to the North Beach area - both are a nice addition to the usual pool and bar scene. Our only complaint is that the resort did not follow its announced policy of not allowing toys etc. in the main pools. On more than one occasion there was a "game" of football that completely dominated the pool. A little oversight here would help. The restaurants are good and, also, fairly priced. Actually, we preferred the more casual Tierra Tierra because of its open setting and atmosphere. We used the resort as a jumping off point for a one-week sailing excursion on the magnificent "Crystal Clear." We are now thinking about returning for an even longer stay at this special resort.

We are writing this from our room the night before check out. We've been to resorts from Mexico to Hawaii to Fiji and this place has outdone them all. As a Platinum Marriott member, our visit began with an upgrade to the Governors Suite, which is exceptional. Full kitchen with granite countertops and a Wolf range. The bathroom was huge and well-appointed with a double sink, separate shower and tub. The signature spot of our room is the 40+ foot balcony, which we used heavily. Regarding the room itself, the photos speak for themselves. Suffice it to say, if you have the ability, we highly suggest it. And they knew it was our anniversary so a bottle of sparkling wine awaited us in the fridge. The staff was great. We took advantage of the walking tour of Scrub Island, which was a great trek, led by resort manager, Federico. I should say, they should probably have a disclaimer about the hike because it was not for the older or out of shape. My wife and I loved it but it was a good hour and 45 minute hike with some serious elevation changes. Another guest struggled with the hike. Federico was great, full of information about this island as well as the surrounding islands. He was a good guy and we had a chance to chat with him further at a nice reception later that evening. We had one dinner at Tierra Tierra. My wife had a very tasty burger and I had the special, a veal Cordon Bleu that was great. We had one minor hicccup in that our waitress seemed a little put off that we wanted our bill split three ways across the three couples which didn't seem to be that unique of a request. When she returned with the checks though, she returned to being relatively friendly. The gym is in great shape with plenty of equipment. We only went once because there were other activities to keep you busy, from the aforementioned island hike, to stand up paddle boards to kayaking to Honeymoon Bay or a short walk to North Beach. We loved the seclusion of North Beach. At a number of resorts, my wife and I have had trouble with excessive noise from kids but that was not that case at North Beach or anywhere here for that matter. If you are a couple with no kids, this place is your spot. My favorite place was the upper infinity pool. Not only did the swim up bar give you quick access to drinks, but it overlooked the lower pool, the marina, Marina Cay and Great Camanoe Island. They had music playing at the pool but not too loud. It wasn't a party spot, per se, as much as a chill spot, just our speed. The hot tub was nice as well. We don't like big breakfasts, but after our long hike we got delicious breakfast sandwiches from the provision store. One night, we hopped a convenient ferry ride to Marina Cay for dinner at the omnipresent Pussers. Just time your ferry right. We missed ours and spend a decent amount of time getting back. If you want a resort with a thousand things to do and activities, I'm sure you can find a place with wall to wall activities. But Scrub Island provided us with the perfect combination of things to do with the right balance of relaxation. We will definitely be back.

Great place to stay for a few days prior to moving on to your next adventure. The pools are nice, but there is not a lot to do other than that. Rooms are beautiful and the resort is quiet overall, very close to the airport. The ferry runs every hour, so booking other excursions is easy.

This was our first stay at Scrub Island and we enjoyed it. The room was spacious and had nice extra seating along with a large bathroom. The views of the harbor and Tortola from the balcony were nice. The food was very good we ate at both North Beach and the main restaurant. The more casual restaurant was closed. Breakfast at the small grocery or deli was good. The spa experience was once of the nicest I have had. Overall the service was good and friendly. Not a posh resort like Little Dix but very nice.
