Stayed for two nights at this hotel. Nice, comfortable rooms. Bed felt great. Good breakfast with meat and eggs. Hotel is right off highway. Fridge and microwave. Kurig coffee maker in room. I would stay here again.
This is the only hotel I will stay in while in this area. Staff have become like family to me. Danny, front desk manager, Jane, breakfast host, and George, general manager are extremely nice and most accommodating. Hotel property is clean and safe. Convenient location to interstate, shops and great restaurants. Highly recommend!
We have stayed in this Hotel over the the years and loved it, but this time was the last time. It has really gone down hill I'm sad to say...the smell was musty, the rooms outdated and worn...No pets allowed ( we didn't have any) but a cat was meowing in the room next to us. I hate writing this report about them, but seems to me they need to do some major renovations.
We stayed one night at Country Inn and Suites and were delighted with the accommodations and reasonable price. The location was easy on and off the interstate. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, clean; staff were friendly and helpful. The cookies in the lobby--at all times--were a nice treat. Included breakfast was much better than expected from stays at other hotels with included breakfasts. Again, staff was friendly and attentive and made sure food or beverages did not run out before they refilled. Abingdon is an interesting historic town and renting bikes and spending a few hours on the Virginia Creeper Trail was a joy.
Our one-night stay was completely good; third-floor room, king-sized bed and a sofa. It was quiet, in fine condition, clean. The front desk clerk handled a stressful time extremely well, completely unflappable. We arrived at 11:15 p.m., about 9 hours after the total solar eclipse. Hotels along I-81 seemed unprepared for the onslaught of travelers driving north from Tennessee, looking for a place to sleep. Part of the demand was probably due to the terrible traffic caused by eclipse viewers, and massive backups. All hotels in the area were full. In the Country Inn lobby, there were three groups of motorists desperate for a room. She kept her cool. A shout-out to Eva! Our reserved room was ready, thank goodness. The breakfast room the next morning was a bit crowded, food was OK. If you want a really good breakfast, I would go to a restaurant, but if you are a cereal/pastries/bagels morning person, then eat there. The egg frittata was fair, and the breakfast meat maybe was Canadian bacon, not sure? There also were waffles, fruit, yogurt, pastries, juice, coffee. But the hotel was full so that may have affected the quality of breakfast. I would stay there again.
Left Manassas around 2030 and about 0330, I decided I was no longer alert enough to finish my drive home to Knoxville. I called the hotel, spoke to Lance to confirm availability. Considering my check in time was 0400, he was very pleasant and quick to get me checked in. Large parking area for RV's and buses, great location, large, clean room, comfy bed. I feel I got more than I paid for. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Let me start off by saying that prior to my recent retirement I spent roughly 150 nights per year in hotels all across the country. We stayed here for one night on a five week road trip and this was hotel number fourteen of sixteen different hotels we stayed in. The sink and bathtub don't drain properly. It was like standing in a lagoon while showering. The hotel has good parking. The gentlemen at front desk very nice and polite. They have complimentary cookies at the front desk that taste very good. We had a nice size room but the bed and pillows are too hard. The room has a fridge and microwave. It has a good size bathroom with nice size counter space. Bathtub was very clean also. There are some restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel.
We stayed here before, and once again we were not disappointed. The room was clean, comfortable bed and nice pillows. It looked recently renovated. Breakfast was filling, and the staff was efficient and friendly. There is coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cookies available 24/7!
It was so moist/damp feelinc in our room it felt gross. The floor felt damp and so did the sheets. I felt nasty in the room. I had to use the spare blanket and wrap up in it under the sheets to avoid feeling so gross. I don't know what the deal was but it wasn't a good feeling.
Nice clean hotel that allows pets (for a fee of $35). Not many other hotels along this corridor do. Front staff was also very polite and provided us with dog cookies. This is really all I have to say but 200 characters are required.
