What a fantastic hotel! I booked the room a few weeks ago for my partner and my 5 year anniversary of being together and as part of a babymoon before our first baby. I informed them of this prior to arriving. When we arrived we were congratulated on our expectant new arrival and told we were given a free upgrade to executive suite. We were so grateful, on entering our amazing room there were rose petals on the bed the shape of a heart, two pieces of chocolate cake with happy anniversary written in chocolate and a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary and the best of luck with our pregnancy. These touches really added to our whole weekend, thank you so much!
Just thought we treat ourselves to a night away from home on our return from Paris. This is one of the best hotels Marriott have the standards are very high the rooms of a really good standard and well appointed. In particular the FOH Team are very efficient and helpful during our stay.
The hotel was of a high standard, clean, luxurious, very helpful staff who go above and beyond. Food lovely. Fantastic rooms, spacious and great location. You are central in the city and close by for the Science Museum, Hippodrome, Harbour, Open Top Bus Tours and Ferry.s. Great bus service to many other places, Tourist info is close by too,
Situated between the cathedral and the harbour side with plenty to do and see. Parking was an additional £16 per day for the duration of stay. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was included in the room rate. The restaurant was very quiet and where we sat was a bit dark but overall the food was very good and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was busy and seemed a bit chaotic at times mainly due to the number of people selfserving at the same time. BedRoom was a decent size and bed was comfy so no complaints there. Would return when in Bristol again
The hotel is situated in an excellent position for the first time visitor to Bristol. The service from all the staff was very good especially the reception staff. The breakfast items were plentiful hot and tasty. We stayed in an upgraded room on the third floor, the rooms were spacious clean & tidy, with plenty of storage space, tea & coffee etc: The indoor swimming pool was a nice bonus plus a large whirlpool, a code number is needed for lockers. We chose the hotel because of the Marriott name and it was a perfect choice, but it was the staff that helped make our stay even better, well done. We will definitely recommend to others. Our stay was to co-inside with the Bristol Balloon festival in August. The balloons actually flew over the hotel three times during our visit, which was brilliant. Bristol is a lovely place to visit, there is plenty to see and do.
We have stayed at this Marriott every year for the past four years. This year we noticed it was not as good on several fronts. When we arrived (even though we had paid for our stay in advance) the lady at the desk seemed not so sure about how many nights we were staying. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. There was an old used soap from the last guest sitting in a corner of the bathroom and there were 2 hairgrips behind the Jacuzzi bath from the last guest. When my husband mentioned this at the desk they did not seem overly apologetic. This was not acceptable in this standard of hotel. We had afternoon tea which was a nice tea, however the service was very poor. Our tea pots arrived but the milk didn't show for 15 mins later and that was after having asked for it. The stands of food arrived 10 mins after that. There was confusion about what actually arrived and if it was the right amount for all of us. We were not offered any top ups of tea at all. No-one came to ask if it was ok for us. Then the tea was charged to the wrong room. I have had lots of afternoon teas and this was definitely not up to standard.
We stayed here for my daughters birthday and booked via Expedia. As the hotel had capacity we were given an upgrade at check in without asking. The room was really spacious and clean with two comfy king sized beds. In the morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast, had a swim in the pool and then checked out. On check out the manager noticed my daughter had a birthday balloon and went behind reception to give her a Teddy Bear for her birthday. Right through our stay the staff were very friendly, efficient and caring. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.
When I stayed at the Marriott in Bristol, it was the only time on my trip to the UK that I felt like I was in the United States. If felt just like a hotel room that I would reserve in Kansas City or Baltimore. The room was clean and comfortable. It was relatively spacious as well. So if you are looking for a comfortable taste of home without any of the idiosyncrasies of European lodging, this is a great choice.
Perfect location for visiting Bristol City Centre and the harbour side. Huge range of restaurants nearby of all types. Room perhaps was a little dated but others have commented that they like this. Bed was comfortable and once you shut the curtains it was like being entombed with a deceased pharaoh, pitch black and very quiet leading to the opportunity to have a good night's sleep. Staff are consistently good and have obviously been trained in customer service. They all seemed genuinely pleased to see you. Breakfast was delicious with particularly good scrambled eggs which are so often horrible in a hotel. I will definitely stay again. We didn't eat in the restaurant nor drink in the bar and we didn't use the pool so can't comment on those facilities. Fantastic parking facility underneath the hotel. You have to pay £16 but it was well worth it to park so conveniently. They were happy for us to leave the car there on check out day enabling us to travel around Bristol on public transport which was reasonably priced and frequent. We then collected the car later to travel home.
We came down and stayed Saturday and Sunday which happened to be the same weekend as the Harbour Festival. Check in was very easy and went smoothly. I had also used the Marriott App to check in before arrival. We were given a room on the first floor. The room was tidy and a decent size room. The view was not great but we did see a little of the water front. The bathroom was fairly standard with the bath and shower as one. The beds are very comfortable and we had a king size. We did not get to use the gym or the pool but we did go and check it out. The gym is very well equipped. The pool is around 15m - 20m long so not great if you are a swimmer like myself but good for kids etc The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the water front and all the bars. We would come back again . The only negative was that they charged 10 pounds for a 2 minute local call which once we pointed this out they did remove it from out bill. Bit cheeky in the first place though.
