Stayed overnight for daughters sixteenth, hotel upgraded us to superior room on arrival and as we entered our room she was greeted with massive 16 balloons, champagne bucket with j20's, flowers,Marriott teddy and a plate of different cakes with happy birthday hand written in Choc sauce, amazing, the staff are wonderfully friendly,I love the original features, hope the reference doesn't go too modern, thank you the Marriott, made my girls birthday so special x
I booked two nights for my family as a Christmas treat and again, we were not didappointed. This is clearly one of the the top quality hotels in Bristol and we booked at very competative prices. Very comfortable rooms and exellent breakfast with wide variety of choices.
The hotel is fine, civilized check in, spacious room, clean, tidy and comfortable. We had a wander across the road to a pub and tried some decent beer before returning to the hotel for dinner. During dinner needed to go to the toilet - beer unfortunately has that effect! the nearest toilet was all the way back through reception and down one flight of stairs along another corridor before finding the toilet and then being able to relax. So my advice is go before you sit down for dinner. the food was fine but cold by the time I returned from my expedition to the toilet. Another very annoying thing is when the bill came for dinner they had added a service charge and also left a space marked gratuity - in my book one or the other but not both.
Hotel quite easy to find and parked in their car park. Check-in was slow and we had problems with our triple family room booking, extra bed could not be put in the room due to "health and safety", instead we were offered two interconnecting doubles in the front overlooking a busy road despite having pre-booked a quiet room. This involved a bit of unwanted walking around the hotel as we looked at the alternative accommodation. Sound insulation however is good and the rooms were not too noisy. In fact rooms are very spacious and bed was OK although no spare bedding and as I had (eventually) turned the vent off (temperature control unit somewhat broken) and was a bit cold, I slept in a jumper. The hotel is very well located for the sights of Bristol, including the harbour etc. The pool and jacuzzi are nice and there is no additional charge for this facility. Breakfast was good, although coffee served was cold it was quickly replaced. Good value and would use again.
Stayed 2 nights Friday and Saturday. Great location as close to everything, well as close as you can be to a very spread out Bristol!! The hotel itself is a bit dated, worn and not aired. We were first given a room on the forth floor and the window did not open. We asked for a room with an opening window and they moved us easily to the ground floor. Much nicer and aired room. Staff are friendly and professional.
I stayed at this wonderful hotel with my parents for two nights, the staff are amazing, excellent service the rooms are lovely. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Will definitely stay again when we visit Bristol
Me and my family of 4, (mother, father and two teenage children) were going to Bristol to do some Boxing Day shopping and we needed a convenient, clean and relatively affordable hotel to stay in for the night. We chose a room with 2 double beds and The Marriott royal was definitely all of those things and more. As soon as you walked into the door you were greeted and made welcome, the reception staff were very easy to talk to and first impressions were very very good. Straight away we could tell that it was very upkept and neat. Again the rooms were impressive, with facilities such as a hairdryer, tea, coffee, shampoo and conditioner and bottled water free of charge. The bathroom was fully equipped with a lovely full length bath and shower, sink and even a bee-day! The beds were very big and comfortable as well and when we needed a few more pillows reception bought them up within minutes which was awesome, the tv also was very good quality with many channels we liked and although it was near town it was very quiet. The only downfall was cost of parking at £16 a night but I coudnt really complain as it was very good security. As far as the hotel facilities the pool was amazing! Very nice for kids or even doing lengths. There was a hot tub that was lovely and also a sauna and steam room which were also amazing, I didn’t try out the gym however from what I saw it had very good machines eg. treadmill, bike etc. Breakfast was so yummy and all the family enjoyed which is very nice, especially having fussy children! There was lots of selection; toast, frieup, granola, cereal, fruit and yogurt. The same goes for drinks, orange, apple, cranberry and of course hot drinks offered when you sit down. Overall I have nothing to complain about, even the lifts were clean and very fast :) amazing hotel !!! Thankyou.
We always stay here when we go to the Colston Hall to see a band. This time it was for Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott. The hotel was fairly quiet and check in was a bit tedious as their loyalty website had not worked properly prior to arrival. The swimming pool was great (and quiet when we went in). Breakfast was as good as any buffet style breakfast can ever be. We will no doubt stay here again.
Stayed NYE 2017 as well had a party to go to at the top of park st. Booked through booking .com as it was cheapest at £117 for deluxe double. No breakfast. £17.5 each ot if we ordered before 12 midnight £12.50 pp. So we didn't bother. Finding the car park was a bit tricky the entrance wasn't very well lit but was only £16 from 5pm over night and all next day if we wanted. The walk from carpark to loby was quite a walk plus a lift but once we got there check In was quick and easy although they did want credit card to take £50 deposit which i said I couldn't do so paid for parking instead. The young lady was helpful and happy as well as knowledgeable. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable as was the bathroom and there was the usual amenities shower gel soap etc Did seem a bit basic for what their normal price would have been and you could hear noise from corridor and outside. Otherwise perfect for visiting area .overall a good stay
Not as good as i expected for the price i paid. Which means that i would not go back. The bathrooms are really old and rusty. Needs improvements urgently. Great buffet breakfast. Good location and great potential .
