Morton Island is beautiful and the resort was mainly good. Was disappointed that when we arrived was told that the whale watching had been cancelled due to bad weather. I wish we were informed and had the opportunity to change to another weekend. I bought this trip as a surprise for my husband and the whale watching would have been the highlight. Supervisor on reception could not really care and just offered us to swap with another tour. The quad bike tour was fanastic and would definitely recommend. We were told the quad bike tour was more expensive than whale tour and that would be sufficient compensation. Seems they care more about looking after foreign tourists(which there are many) then the locals. Meals and drinks were fairly expensive but we expected that and enjoyed what we had.
We enjoyed the stay in the Villa. The only negative point is the rather long walking distance from the wharf to the villa. The Quad Bike is excellent and we all enjoyed it very much, so did the desert tour!!
My family have had many visits to the resort (mainly the run of house rooms) over the years as well as bringing my wife's Dutch relatives,so it was where I dicided to celebrate my recent 60th birthday and invited close friends to join us from midweek ,great week had by all Thankyou
Great experience. The view of the beach are beautiful. If you haven't been. It's an experience not to be missed. Feed dolphin, snorkel the wrecks, hang out with local birds and relax on the beach. Just check the weather conditions before you book. 5-10 knots of wind maximum is best.
More smiling from staff, cleaning was a little slack, our floor was still very wet when we arrived in our room, ran out of butter at one breakfast, smoking facility straight across from massage room a little off putting.
This travel is all good . Our body felt relax. The sun is warm, enjoy feeds dolphin because it's so cute although wind is very strong can't go down touch, but can see it our very happy. sand is excited and all the staff is very friendly ,
Absolutely beautiful views and the dolphin feeding is a must ! We stayed in the villa which definitely needs a facelift but the stunning views definitely made up for it. Food is expensive and more options would be nice. Overall the kids had a blast and we will definitely return.
the experience with food was very poor. crumbed prawns overcooked chips cold. pizza tasteless . sausage meal sausage tastless didnt eat it jacket potato skin burnt and potato obviously cooked earlier and reheated. pie in cafe not nice . sausage roll overheated couldnt get knife through it. chinese restsurant fried rice just boiled and few frozen vegs in it no taste . we beleive our food was returned by someone then given to us we saw waiter taking it back then to our surprise had our food served before rice not very hot and also tasteless. tomato soup tasteless. chicken soup taste nice but full of fat and skin. the steak bbq not opened when we were there and not game to try steak at 32 dollars after other bad experience. i felt as if all i could order and enjoy were potato wedges sadly i had. them 3 times completely unacceptable food love the island and accomodation ok food spoilt our time there. i heard and spoke to other people who had problems with gheir food also and heard complaints shame
This resort has potential but is currently stuck in the 70's. Food outlets are obsolete and need major make overs. Except for the Chinese restaurant the food was very disappointing. Dolphins and pelican feeding were worth the visit and the helicopter tour excellent. Bedrooms are 3 star especially the bathrooms.
We were very disappointed with how noisy our room was due to Staff starting work in the building next door first up and having no regard that we were there to relax !! Spoke to reception but was told it would be an extra $50 to change rooms!!! Also the beach café had not atmosphere at all, bright lights canteen style seating....not cheap so expect more! Did enjoy our night at the Copper Grill when they opened for us! slightly rushed through.
