Love the Balfour

This boutique hotel is divine, premium, fun convenient location out of the city but a walk to James St, New Farm Park and everything in the Valley. Service is personalised, rooms a gorgeous, breakfast is of the highest quality and bar area is beautiful if you’re enjoying a romantic getaway or business meeting. Can’t fault this place.

Overall great location and large suites.

Minor issues. Vanity didn’t drain well. Musty smell in unit until aired out. We were challenged re taking unreserved seating at breakfast even as we had 4 rooms and breakfasts included. Admittedly it was Father’s Day but advance notice would have helped. Challenging guests is unprofessional. We travel extensively using 1class accommodation worldwide. At home the service could have been sharper. However overall this was an enjoyable time for us as we hosted our daughter’s wedding at Spicers and it was an amazing success. Just minor grievances. Disappointing

Hotel is fine, but honestly felt like quite a let down given my expectations from other reviews. The location is nice but other than that it felt quite basic. Also, no real facilities and we were put in a room in a separate building which was presented as an 'upgrade' to a suite but instead felt detached from the hotel. I was looking for a nice hotel stay and it felt a bit more like an airbnb where you couldn't even eat the snacks left out for you because it's actually the minibar. Sort of the worst of both worlds. Terrible water pressure for the shower and mould on the ceiling of the room.

False advertising, do not stay here

This hotel should definitely not have 5 stars. Their service is atrocious. We arrived at 5p and there was no one at the hotel. No one to check us in, no one to help with bags. The hallways and walkway to our room was dark. We felt like we were entering an anondones house. The rooftop that was prominently displayed in the photo was closed. In short the entire experience was extremely disappointing.

This is a quaint hotel close to the bustling Howard Smith Wharf area with many dining and entertainment options as well as the very handy Brisbane ferry service to easily transport you to South Bank, another get spot to see while there. The only issue is the rooms can be noisy with traffic and people chatting in the restaurant. The staff will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure you have anything you need to make your stay comfortable.
