Location is perfect, apartment is old, but clean and has all that you need. I think the 2 bedroom apartments are better for size of balcony and position for view? However we were happy with our 1 bedroom apartment - definitely chose the deluxe over the standard. City Hopper ferry terminal just a very short walk away. Was told by reception staff over the phone, that we wouldn't be able to see fireworks from the hotel, but we did and we were very pleased that we didn't have to battle the crowds at south bank to see the midnight fireworks, on New Years Eve and could comfortably view them from our apartment balcony instead. Staff were very friendly on check-in. I would definitely return, especially for New Years Eve.
Only there for one night. Apartment was very roomy & clean. Attended a function at the Storey Bridge Hotel. Was a short walk, very handy. Gardens around apartment building are very nice. Would recommend for families
Came for Christmas Break and happy enough to live here for 6 days. Yes it needs to upgrade.. the carpet, the showers.. but overall it’s ok. One thing that I want to complain is the Wifi.. we couldn’t use it at ALL.. we couldn’t find the ‘Myport’ thingy when we were in the room.. hope it’s getting better next year..
So impressed with this accommodation. I feel the staff went above and beyond. I had asked for 4 single beds in a 2 room apartment but it was doubtful they could do this BUT on arrival we found exactly what had been requested. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Secured, undercover parking arranged for minimal cost. Apartment was clean and spacious with terrific views to the river and Story Bridge. Steps away from the free ferry to take us to Eagle Street Pier for our evening out. We’ll definitely be back.
We stayed recently at the Dockside - being from the bush we asked for a Water View and we were happy with sweeping views of the Brisbane River....the City Hopper (free ferry) docks right at the front of Dockside and we used frequently to go to South Bank. ON the first night we found the Shower in the Ensuite dismal with the one in the second Bathroom a little better. One of the reasons we decided on Dockside was that it had a Kitchenette - sadly it had a Convention/microwave oven which we had no idea on how to work so couldn't warm up meals we had prepared before coming to Brisbane. The next morning we rang the Front Desk (as they are not open long hours - closed at 4 on a Sunday and not open early or late during the week) and stated that the shower was not satisfactory and that we had no idea on how to work the oven and asked it they could leave instructions as we were away for Medical appointments - we were told that a Maintenance man would come up - on the evening return the shower was the same and no instructions to work the convention oven. Luckily there was a Asian restaurant across the road and we got takeaway that night the other two nights we stayed out later and had meals at South Bank a little more expensive then we planned with meals already organised from home. As we were down for medical appointments we stayed longed than first envisaged and the staff were able to organise another nights accommodation. While the car parking was across the road from the apartments - there were large parking areas for our "bush Car' A little lack lustre with servicing in regards to our problems with the room but did enjoy the ferry rides and the work around the Dockside - not sure if we would stay there again due to the Kitchen and shower and lack of places to go to eat.
Having stayed at this hotel a few years ago I was not impressed with the following: * Tired and dirty fixtures and fittings. I have attached a few photos. * Noisy neighbours. * Smelly carpet, dampness of the room. I did like the view of the river and the staff who were friendly and helpful.. I liked the main foyer of the hotel, which did give a good impression. This was not continued in the room. Perhaps there are different room standards and I was just unlucky this time to get such a poor representative of the hotel. Why would a hotel not pay attention to the detail? I will be protecting my money and not be staying there again,
Stayed here for the Ashes match at the Gabba and it worked out fine. It's roughly a 30 minute walk to the ground. Our apartment slept four with two bathrooms and utility room and it was a really good price for eight nights. A nice apartment overlooking the river close to the ferry for free trips into the city. Would definitely stay again.
Old tired and smelly. Paid 360 tonight for a room worth 80. Great location and possibly worth while when prices are low. But it is horrible inside the rooms, quality of everything is very low. Kitchen is crap. Bedding is crap.
I stayed here recently and was very disappointed overall. The room was very dated and most furnishing needs replacing. One of the shower heads blasted my face and entire bathroom just turning it on! This was a similar experience with the kitchen sink. In addition to the room, the service was also appalling with a very disinterested woman at the reception desk. I would not recommend this place to stay - look elsewhere. (Note - the 2 stars given for this review is based on location to city).
This place is lucky that it's so conveniently located or it would have been rated lower. The lady at the front desk was a combination of outright rude and just not caring, the included parking is not attched to the hotel (so make sure you take your luggage up at check in and then park). The facilities in our room were very dated; the ensuite shower couldn't be used at all because it behaved like an old blocked garden sprinkler and the kitchen tap groaned more than the lady at the front desk. But well done on the location!
