Overall the location is great if you're in the Back Bay Area but I would not consider coming back to this hotel unless a major renovation had occurred. Check in and check out were very easy. Considered going to another hotel due to the disrepair but due to the short length of stay stuck it out. Very disappointed in the price paid for the quality.

I enjoyed the convenience of being close to everything. The room was nice and clean. The bathroom was a little cramps. No counter but clean.

Great location, easy walking distance to everything I wanted to see and the staff was extraordinary! Always stay there when I go to Boston!

If you are traveling to Boston just for a short time and need somewhere cheap to sleep until you leave the next day, then this is a good hotel. If you want a good hotel experience though and will be there multiple days, I wouldn't recommend it. Very old and outdated. I just visited to attend and even Friday night and needed a cheap room to stay in one night. This sufficed.

Be sure to read the fine print. While this hotel offers "free" wifi, it is not guaranteed to be available in your room. You can probably guess that means that unless you pay premium you are not going to get wifi access in your room. My room was small, clean and quiet. The bathroom was dingy and came with a migraine inducing full glare buzzing fluorescent light. Hotel staff were curt unapologetic and unhelpful. Oh, and don't bother trying to FaceTime your kids from the lobby using the wifi, because while that is the one place you can get wifi there is no cell phone reception. I will never stay here again

The place looks like it should have been totally remodeled 10 years ago. Everything is very old and worn. The basic stuff works, but it was not exactly a joy to stay there. The carpet looked quite dirty. Rest was clean, but certainly not pretty. The hotel doesn't even offer any WiFi connection in the rooms. The person at the reception was nice enough to put me into a room close to one of the routers on the floor, so that I could still get a WiFi signal. No desk in my room, quite small. No breakfast options. If you just need a bed and a shower, it's ok. But don't expect much.

Room felt dirty, had a bad smell. It was old and needs a total renovation. Location was good but plenty of other options in same area.

dirty carpets, bathtub with rust, doors do not close properly, small rooms

Stopover in Boston. This hotel has an excellent location. Very close to great sites and transit.

I expected free wifi as advertised but it was only in the lobby which was a deceiving advertisement. The shower was inadequate. I felt as though I was in a motel rather than the expensive hotel I booked. I booked for 5 days and left after 2.

There is even no wifi, microwave in the hotel roon. The room is also very small. It is very expensive. In other cities, only 1/3 price is needed.

Walkable to everything. Rooms need a little love in the bathrooms.

Hotel is next to Back Bay Station which is very convenient, but furniture is old, dated and needs replacement.

If your expecting the Ritz you'll be disappointed. But if you want to be in the center of Boston on the cheap this is the place. The moteef is a bit dated and warn, but the rooms are clean, the staff are nice, and the water was hot. I'd stay there again.

Fair. Room needs upgrade. No amenities. Staff was nice. Bed was fair. TV channels were OK. Location is great. No loading/unloading area.

This was very inconvenient though there was wifi as advertised in the lobby areas. Lobby was very comfortable and rooms were just average. Location and price were great for Boston with wifi caveat.

we were stay here twice now, it's still good hotel. nice staff and quiet and clean room. will be back here if we are in Boston agian

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into my room because of the size and accommodations--I was expecting a standard size room (translation: very tight fit for everything requiring one to squeeze by to get around the room). It was very spacious! The hotel staff was very friendly, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff.

I would not stay here again. Although the staff was friendly, the accommodations appeared to have had their prime in the 1940's. Nice old lobby, not nice old rooms. Looked like the last room update might have been around 1965. Stained carpet, stained sink, mildew in tub grout. Furniture was sadly worn, as was the yellowing paint. The worst discovery though was the thick mold or mildew in the A/C grate. Yuck. Although the sheets were clean and the bed okay, (albeit a bit hard), you won't find me back at this hotel!

We stayed 2 nights at Boston Common Hotel. Very convenient to trolley stop and public transit. Seemed like a pretty safe neighborhood. Continental breakfast included coffee, tea, several juices, lots of baked goods, cold cereal and instant oatmeal. Also fresh apples and pears. Plenty to start a long day of sightseeing. Hotel was old but seemed to be fairly well maintained. We would stay there again if we return to Boston.

Scratchy bed. Minimal amenities. Tub had trouble draining and felt unclean. Outdated
