A great location within a few meters of the famous "mailbox" containing all the social eateries anyone could ever want. Much cheaper than the normal inner city budget hotels but with the benefits of a self contained apartment such as a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and a microwave and everything you need to use the facilities. I stayed for 12 weeks but it is possible to book for just one night. My apartment had a fully loaded living room, downstairs bathroom, kitchen and dining area. A wide staircase led upstairs to a large fully fitted double bedroom with everything you would expect at home, wardrobes lockers dressing tables and a full bathroom. The staff are very helpful and really want to do all they can to help. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recomend it without hesitation and book whenever I am nearby in future.
Good location. needs a bigger bed, can't make a local call from room, wi-fi would have been nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean and comfortable. Good shopping close by. Restaurants were marginal. 0 min. wlk to trains.
We often travel as a family and as a family of 6 (5 on this occasion) we often have difficulty in finding suitable sized rooms so we cannot always stay at the same place. We have therefore stayed at various hotels of varying quality. The Spires at Birmingham has to rank at the very bottom. The standard of the room furniture etc was acceptable but that was about it. Upon arrival reception was locked. We had somewhere to be so decided to check in later. When we returned after our function reception was still locked and unattended. We found our way into the hotel as a visitor was leaving and managed to find a number to call to get hold of a member of staff when out of hours (we were within hours still). We checked in and paid (we thought a £250 damage deposit was high and unusual as we have not been asked anywhere before) and were taken to our room. The member of staff member was generally polite and ensured we saw all areas of our room. We then left for our evening meal. At this point we had spent very little time in our room. From our return is when we learned about so many issues. We put our youngest children to bed and learned sleeping for everyone would be difficult. Any movement in the apartment would create the loudest creaking of the floor. Should anyone stand or move at all everyone would wake and our children are not light sleepers! We also learned as the evening went on that the location of the hotel was not suitable for families and the soundproofing was awful. Even with all windows and doors closed there was the constant babble and noise of drunken revelers outside. This continued until around 4am. Needless to say none of us did much sleeping. This was not the type of hotel we were expecting. It stated suitable for families and the price (£200 for one night) was not that to be attracting the cheaper end of the market but not the highest either. Our intention was to raise this with reception this morning upon checking out but guess what... yes nobody was there and it was locked. We dropped our key in the box provided and left never to return again.
If it wasn't for Ms. Ewelina Pasternak the manager I never would have stayed their because I had so many questions and wanted everything perfect. She exceeded my expectations!!! and the place was great and so close to everything!!!
I stayed here for almost 3 months. Liked this place due to good location near New Street Station, excellent housekeeping and friendly staff. The apartments are spacious and quite comfortable. It is very well maintained. It is also near to main city center, near shopping malls. There is a small Tesco express just around the corner for urgent needs.
Great location reasonably priced accommodation within walking distance of city centre, broad street and new street station, friendly staff and helpful. Also within walking distance of the mailbox and canals of which are lovely walks.Would recommend to friends and family
Excellent location, high quality accommodation and outstanding customer service, not much more you can ask for really in a reasonably priced apartment in the centre of Birmingham. Ideal for working away from home for a few days with all of the mod cons needed to make life a bit easier
3 nights in the centre of Birmingham, fantastic location next door to Mailbox easy walking to New Street, Bull ring and Broad street, even Cineworld is a short walk away, there is even a real Ale pub Craven arms 2 mins away. Parking after 6pm is free if you can find a space, mailbox is £20 overnight thought the Spires will discount this down to £17. A lot of 1 way streets so Sat Nav. a must. Suite excellent facilities and very tidy sleeps up to 6 people. Internet not included in our deal and at £10 a day or £30 per week we did not bother. TV could also have been a bit bigger. 2 bedrooms one with on suite. Security very good.
Always a high standard, clean, quiet, pleasant and helpful staff. Can't fault it. Everything you need in a serviced apartment and decent sized too. Only five mins walk from New Street and the city centre.
Arrived a little early for check-in, but receptionist was great and moved us to an apartment ready for occupation. The apartment was clean and quite well furnished, but pretty basic facilities for the price. No free Wi-Fi, understandable if you're going to download large chunks of data, but basic level would be really useful just to pick up emails. Beds were clean and comfortable. Not sure why the master bedroom with en-suite had twin beds, whilst double room was smaller of rooms with bathroom across the corridor. Overlooked by properties on other side of the quandrant - windows could do with voile panels so that you can open the curtains and let the daylight in, without feeling you were being watched. Also think £250 deposit on a weekend is too much, especially as house policy says it can take up to 10 days to refund after visit. . Location of the accommodation is really convenient for the city centre
