We were upgraded to the refurbished rooms for our stay. The hotel receptionist on duty that day was extremely friendly and so helpful. This lady was the face of the hotel and beause of her friendly manner made our stay fabulous. The restaurant and bar staff were also friendly

The hotel is under refurbishment and luckily enough I did get a newly refurbished room so it was immaculate. I must say it was basic but perfectly adequate for a few nights stay. The Bar/Restaurant serves really good food at reasonable prices and the staff were excellent. Especially the young lady on reception who sorted a couple of things out for me.

Arrived around 4 30pm, check in lady was very helpful, given a room on the 1st floor, but right at the back of the hotel, quite a walk and rear of a yard, real bright security light do come though the blind provided, room itself was ok, window glass broken seals, like a skip yard out of the windiw, beds soft, coffee and tea privided
Twin beds, single size
 Room
Broken window seals, double glazed

Staff were great and a free upgrade. However, accidentally drove in the exit rather than the entrance as it isn't well signposted. No towels in the room. Room was freezing cold unless the heating was on for 1+ hour, which you couldn't do while you weren't in the room. Car alarm outside went off every 20 minutes all through the night. Corridors were all over the place. Electric chargers were more expensive and slower than the McDonalds down the road.

Upon arrival I was charged £10 for parking, this was not made clear via the booking system. Then the upper floors of the building were undergoing re-decoration and repair. Floors were dirty and very dusty and workmen were playing music loudly at 8am. However, the room was nice and had been re-furbished. It was quiet at night and comfortable. More information on the hotel should be included in the room.

The hotel is very old, rooms look like what you would expect from a 1 or 2 star hotel. Really needs updating. Also was woken up by workers hammering and drilling. Wouldn’t recommend.

Property is in poor condition and we asked to be moved as the bathroom had mould on the ceiling, the bathroom door had come away from the frame, the mattress was saggy, the bedroom door key locking system across the hotel failed so we couldn't get into our room and the internet kept dropping out. We tried four different rooms. However, the staff were brilliant and tried to sort everything out for us but overall, the property is in dire need of refurbishment which is currently taking place

Room was freezing as the small electric heater was not adequate. The following morning there was no pressure in the shower and it just trickled. Have filed a complaint and not received a response as yet.

The room was in need of refurbishment. The shower head would not stay upright and there was no plug in the basin. The paint was peeling off the windowsill and the furniture was tatty. However, the bed and pillows were good. The hotel in general needs redecorating. The leisure centre was closed and I did not now about this at the time of booking. This seems to be a party hotel so if you want an early night check what is going on there before you book. I was at an event but couldn't go to bed before 1.00a.m. as the loud music was directly both under and outside of my 1st floor room. When I went to go to my room at about midnight and the key wouldn't work there was no one on reception. It took several tries at calling on the reception phone before anyone answered and came to help. The staff at the event which was an 80s night, were great. 5 stars for them. I bought the same drinks 3 times and was charged a different price each time, only 40p or so but given the till set up I thought this was strange. I didn't have breakfast.

Private Christmas party on at the hotel. Music blasting out until late and after it had finished, had party members making extreme noise in the corridors and rooms either side of me. Vomit in the corridor. WIFI is non-existent in the room I was in, batteries didn't work in the TV. Spoke to the night receptionist who took notes of the above and said someone would contact me later that day but never heard anything which shows a lack of care (he handled the situation very well and was very apologetic). I was kept awake from around 2am
