Really great hotel and location for all areas of birmingham and sites.Room was a little stuffy at night couldn't get air conditioning to turn down. The window partially opened . Overall though excellent stay.
Bridley Place has lots of bars and restaurants that meant we didnt have to venue far from the hotel to find good places to eat and drink on an evening. 20 mins walk from main shops of the city made this hotel a good location for our city break in Birmingham
I stayed with my husband and two sons for one night in two rooms as we were seeing a show at the ICC. The only faults were that the rooms were too hot (we didn't like to leave the window open at night) and the beds were extremely firm. this mean't our sleep wasn't great. The rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped and the hotel is in a very nice part of Birmingham, close to the ICC and plenty of restaurants. staff were very helpful and breakfast was excellent.
We were really impressed with the location of this hotel, in relation not only to the city centre which was easily within walking distance but also the proximity of a great selection of bars and restaurants. The hotel was really smart and clean too, good bar with good selection of drinks and the breakfast was fine.
Had a one night stay here in December with my wife. Stayed here before and chose this hotel for its convenient location to brindled place and the restaurants and bars close by. Rooms are compact but suitable enough for a short stay. Limited parking available for £15 a night but there is also a multi storey car park very close by. Gym is very basic so don’t expect to get a good work out. Bar on site was busy and great place to grab a drink or lite bite. Main shopping area is about a 20 min walk. No frills hotel that is close enough but far enough and offered fair value Slightly annoying that when you pull up to get your cases out the is an attendant ushering you on. They should allow a 5 minute drop off.
We stayed one night booked and pre paid through trip advisor took ages to find our booking then when we checked out we were asked for payment and made to stand waiting while they looked for our pre payment ..quite embarrassing. Room was adequate quite out dates and bathroom needsed a good clean and update the sink was so small you couldn't put both hands into it to wash . When we arrived back to the hotel we were stopped at the door and asked to see our room keys ..understandably for security but there are nice ways of asking and making you feel comfortable and welcome
Visited today (1st January) at 3.30pm with the intention of having afternoon tea which my boyfriend had booked. We showed up at the Recess restaurant and the barman was the only one in the vicinity. He had no information about our booking and dithered about for a bit while apologising and eventually sat us in the bar. He brought us a coffee cup each and a knife and fork and asked us what we'd like to drink (??). By which point, we knew this guy did not know what afternoon tea wad meant to consist of. This wad reaffirmed when we heard him ask a fellow colleague, "What's afternoon tea, did you know?". He eventually brought us a menu even though we had specified on the lost booking that we couldn't eat fish in our sandwiches. Needless to say, we hastily left and went elsewhere. I understand that this poor guy was obviously inexperienced and on his own, but for £16 a head you'd expect a little competency.
Clean and close to broad street, ideal for the symphony hall or Brindley Place Breakfast was good quality, plenty too choose from and relaxed atmosphere Rooms were a handy size with a free safe, big telly and plenty of wardrobe space
Very clean rooms, although the beds are very hard and uncomfortable and the AC doesn't work so it gets very hot. Good facilities and services though. There is a fitness suite which was good and the food was great. 8/10 pretty good would recommend
Stayed here with colleagues on business for 1 night, midweek, first time we used this location, everyone one seemed happy. This hotel is in a good location, close to the canal side restaurants and Broad street, so a great deal of places to eat to choose from. Good reception and quick check-in, pleasant staff, clean and tidy rooms. Midweek it was quiet busy, but not too noisy, which Birmingham can be at weekends. There was a nice buffet breakfast, plenty of choice and a good turn around. We will stay again, just one thing to note, parking can be expensive. Check before you stay, anywhere in Birmingham really.
