I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at this hotel. Nothing like the pictures online. I have stayed in many budget hotels and I am not picky but this hotel was a big shock. Luckily I was on a hen do with friends staying in another hotel so i was in and out but would have been gutted if i had to stay in the hotel for more than one night. Everything from the carpets, to the furniture and paintwork are in need of alot of money. There was many issues inc toilet seat broken, tap broken, moldy ceiling in bathroom and all the furniture looked like it had been chewed by a stray dog. I have emailed the manager over a week ago to complain and not even got an email back. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!
The room I stayed in was moldy with no heating in the winter. Was freezing - two star or one star quality. The spa pool, facilities are not really comfortable even though the staff down there are very nice. I can't imagine anyone ever enjoying a stay here. Truly awful. have waited over an hour for a heater to be sent to the room so far - doubt they have one.
Booked a family room for 2 nights after reading reviews I was worried but when we arrived it wasn't that bad. The hotel clientel is more of working people not holiday makers but that wasn't a problem for us our room was clean and quiet. the pool was good enough and the staff were very helpful. With the price I think it wasn't too bad at all. I think some of the reviews are a bit harsh yes it is dated and can do with refurb but at the end of the day when you go for a cheap option you should expect it to be Hyatt or Mandarin oriental.
This hotel was poor quality, I feel i was mis-sold by the pictures on the booking page, the room was filthy as was the doors and walls. The room smelt of drains, there was a generator of some sort that started buzzing from below us from 5am which kept is awake. The décor was falling to pieces. see attached pictures. The breakfast was fry up or cereal! And at breakfast they ran out of bacon and beans. I would definitely not recommend the hotel and I will not be visiting again
Stayed for one night whilst visiting Cadbury World with husband and 12 year old daughter - picked this hotel due to its Spa facilities and pool. Hotel is very dated and in desperate need of a refurb - wallpaper peeling off walls, carpets joined with tape - the changing rooms for the pool area were dirty and the drains were clogged with black gunge and Hair. The pipe work around the pool was rusty and there were holes in the ceiling. Our triple room whilst clean absolutely stank of cigarette smoke - this coupled with alarms on bedroom doors and loud guests returning at all hours meant not much sleep was had! In the morning we were greeted by various patches of sick on the carpets in the corridors - horrible experience!
After reading the reviews, I was apprehensive about staying at this hotel. We booked a family package and got a room, buffet breakfast, entrance to the zoo/safari and a lunch to take, plus access to the pool and leisure facilities. Our room was clean, plenty of parking and the kids loved the pool. The bar staff Jodie and Michelle were excellent and so friendly. As a family, we would definitely stay here again.
The hotel itself is in a very poor condition. Cheap beds, poor TV options, one towel each. Avoid the pool area at all costs. The staff all seem helpful and pleasant enough. It’s close to the city centre and has free parking. This is a 2 start not 3.5 star hotel.
I stayed at this hotel for one night, (Thursday night). The room was good and the facilities at the hotel were fine. the staff were very helpful even though it was very busy. The breakfast was good but the service was not professional. The diningroom needed to be done up.
Came to visit salon really pleased played extra for pool and sauna I cannot believe how run down and dirty it was I spent more time getting undressed and dressed again didn't want to use the facilities as I was scared of catching something
The toilet was the most disgusting thing, certainly didn't want to sit on it !! The hotel is very tired, holes in the walls, everything is broken, wonky or beyond repair !! Needs a few million spent on it. You can hear everyone else in the rooms word for word so it's rather disturbing when your drifting off to hear men's voices crystal clear in your room !! The curtain was held together with a hair pin and didn't fill the window so it didn't matter that the early morning dustbin collection was very noisy as we were awake anyway with a light filled room !!! Will NEVER return and wouldn't send my worst enemy here !!
