Hidden Lakeside Retreat on Kentucky Lake☼Kayaks, Rec Room, Fire Pit Wifi WFH
Hidden Shores is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom REMOTE lake house designed for relaxation, refreshment, and fun in mind. Whether you are coming to escape the hustle and bustle of life for a peaceful family retreat, or just want to get a change of scenery and work remotely while your family plays, our home away from home will suit your needs.
Immerse yourself in nature with our impressive views of Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River. Watch the occasional barge go by, listen to the waves while relaxing on the deck, take a swim along the shallow shoreline, fish the day away (great fishing location), go boating with the ease of our private boat ramp (explore the ruins of the underground railroad just 2000 ft downriver), occasionally see the white-tailed deer who stop by for a drink, and birdwatch (see if you can spot the bald eagle that is nesting on our 2- wooded acres).
The Drive: Get into "rest-mode" while driving along The Tennessee River Trail Scenic Byway to our shoreside retreat on Kentucky Lake. The drive is an adventure in itself as you meander through picturesque countryside and small, hometown America. Then, wind through the woods (about 5 minutes) on a semi-private gravel road along the shoreline to our "hidden" home. Other than our one next-door neighbor, we are situated on 2 wooded acres with over 1000 undeveloped acres adjacent to our property. **As common in the area, due to the hilly and windy roads, we do recommend 4 wheel drive or chains for your tires in the winter months where there is a possibility for ice. This only happens occasionally, but is a possibility(check weather conditions) **
Quick Overview:
-3 bedrooms (King-Master Bedroom/Queen-Guest Room 1/Queen-Guest Room 2) -2 Full Bathrooms -Remote Work Space. Despite our remote location, we do have Wifi. We are able to successfully work remotely, and make video conference calls. However, due to unforeseen weather or service outages, we do not give a connection speed guarantee. -Free Wifi (High Speed ~40mbs & Great for Video Calls and WFH) -Satellite TV (Direct TV) -2 Smart TVs (One in living room and one in Primary Bedroom) -Gas Grill -Gas Fire Pit -Whole House Water Filtration System - Small Private Boat Ramp. Use for smaller boats such as a small fishing boat, kayaks and canoes. There is also a public boat ramp just a few miles down the road. -Rec Room w/ Ping Pong, Foosball & Arcade game -Accessible Entry Ramp & Single-Floor Layout (See Accessibility Details at End of Listing) *Note:this space is not yet heated/Temp controlled, so take that into consideration during planning* -Fully Equipped Laundry Room -Baby Gear: Pack n' Play, Sound Machine, Baby Monitor, children's dinnerware
The House:
You will pull up to the house and drive up the driveway to the house that is perched on a hill overlooking Kentucky Lake/Tennessee River. The driveway is also connected down to our small private boat ramp to the water.
Our eat-in kitchen is stocked with the cooking essentials you need to cook your favorite meals all while you admire the view of the lake. Our dining room table is big enough to enjoy a home-cooked meal or play a family board game.
The kitchen opens up to our comfortable Great Room that has plenty of natural light and views of the lake. There is no lack of seating with our cozy sofas and arms chairs, and we have enough throw blankets around to keep you all snuggled up to watch a movie on our large Smart TV. We have a fold-out couch for an optional extra bed.
Walk out onto our sprawling deck from the kitchen that looks over Kentucky Lake. It has a large gas grill to cook up some burgers or make a nice steak meal. We also have a gas-powered fire-pit conveniently situated on the deck to enjoy late-night chats around the fire with family and friends.
The primary King Suite has a new luxurious king-sized bed with a new mattress, full private bathroom, work-from-home "office nook", large smart TV, and coffee station. There are full windows on the east side of the room with a sliding door that opens to the large deck and adirondack seating area, the perfect place to enjoy a cozy morning coffee while you watch the sun come up over the lake.
The two guest rooms have queen-sized beds with brand-new memory foam mattresses. Each closet has extra linens, a folding desk for an option for remote workers, and an extra rollaway bed.
The 2nd full bathroom has a one-piece tub and shower to conveniently bathe your little ones.
Our rec room is located in the detached garage. It is the perfect place for keeping the kids busy while the adults want some downtime (or vice versa!). Equipped with foosball, ping pong, an arcade machine, seating areas, and even an exercise bike/elliptical machine for those who want to get in a quick workout. A portable corn hole game is also stored in the rec room for our guests to use (we enjoy taking it down to the grassy area on the shoreline). Giant Jenga Game just added. *Please note: This space is not yet temperature-controlled*
The Area: We are 10 miles from the center of town where you can get all your basic needs. hidden gem
We came out with family and friends to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. The setting was exactly as described. The house was beautifully decorated and very well equipped. I was amazed by all the extra touches the owner puts into her property. The location was beautiful, and the house was so nice that it made leaving it hard. Thank you for a great weekend getaway. We will definitely be back when we can stay longer and just unwind.

Our family enjoyed our first family vacation at Hidden Shores and it had everything we wanted and more: peace, nature, scenic views, and access to lake activities. We had so much fun in the game room, swimming, fishing, tubing, grilling, and enjoying smores on the deck. It was the perfect getaway!

This lovely lake house is surrounded by nature, and is away from things, which is great if you're looking for a peaceful stay. This is a guy named Bruce that lives in the area who is super friendly, and I recommend you take him up on his fish dinner option - super tasty!

The Treasure at the end of the road
Wow! This property was GREAT! When you leave the paved road making the final trek on the unpaved portion, one wonders if it really exists. Loved the tranquility and setting this home is nestled in. It literally is at the end of the road. The lake views were beautiful as was the weather: high 70s and 80s. Enjoyed morning walks on the road through the woods while seeing many varieties of butterflies.
The home is warm and inviting, creating a relaxed, at home feeling as soon as you come in the door. From the beautiful decor, the comfortable bed, plush bath towels...the hosts thought of every little detail to make us feel like we were in a 5 star hotel. Nice deck to relax on and listen to the birds sing. The barge traffic was an unexpected delight! We appreciated how the hosts set up the garage to create a space for some "play". Even the sitting area in there was a nice touch.
While grabbing some groceries at Krogers in Paris, we went next door to Oishii Japanese Hibachi. Their Super Buffet was fantastic! We'd go back again in a heartbeat.
This home provided a great place to getaway.

Beautiful home with perfect amenities
The home itself was perfect! The amenities were wonderful. The views were stunning. The check-in process was very easy.
The only issue is the road to get there if you do not have a truck or SUV you will not make it. We had to park one car in the nearest town as she was unable to drive the path to the house. I wish this information was given before hand.

Wonderful view and home!
This house was right on the lake shore. We could hear the water lapping the shore while we sat on the back deck. The surrounding nature was very calming, and reflected how TN feels (even without a mountain view). Home and furniture were nice. The Foosball/ ping pong table in the garage were a great bonus! I would stay in this home again, it was the perfect choice for a few nature days.
The drive to this house included a few miles on a gravel road. It is accessible by car, but there were some large rock in front of one neighbor's home. I'd be more comfortable having a little clearance on whatever car you are driving, but this is not necessary. Did not need 4 wheel drive. There is a neighbor right next to this house, so I felt secure knowing we were not isolated.
Main bedroom bathroom was wheelchair accessible.

Everything was good except for the Wi-Fi. We had a bit of a problem trying to get connected for several days. Other than that I would absolutely recommend this for a family because it’s at the end of the Road which makes it very private and the home is beautiful.

Amazing Tennessee get away on Kentucky Lake
I've been renting vacation homes and condos on VRBO and other websites for 30 years. I can easily say this is the best equipped home in which I have every stayed. If we needed it, it was there. The interior of the home was immaculate and updated, the lake was warm, the game room was perfect for the two 8-10 years old staying with us, and the deck for morning coffee, evening cocktails and the nighttime stargazing was sublime. It was perfect. If you are looking for a place that has restaurants within a 5 minute drive and aren't a fan of being "away," you might not like the remoteness of the property. We,however, enjoyed every single minute of it and plan to return.
