Stayed here for a week during the Berlinale Film Festival/EFM. For anyone seeking accommodation for that event, which centres on Potsdamerplatz, Lutzow is an excellent choice. It is 5 minutes walk to Wittembergplatz U-Bahn, then 4 stops to Potsdamerplatz. takes about 15 mins in total - and a week ticket on the U-Bahn is €30. Other reviewers have mentioned how good the area is - beside the U-Bahn is KaDeWe, as well as some lovely cafes and a good small supermarket. The immediate area of the hotel is quiet, mostly well-kept apartments. The hotel itself is functional, in respect of the reception area, but the rooms are neat, well-kept, spotlessly clean. Double beds are against the wall, built in. But that would be the only downside. The shower had great pressure, was clean and always had hot water. Small kitchen area with fridge, hob, sink, etc and lots of cupboard space, and a good desk, which I used a lot. To be honest, this is the perfect business hotel for those on a budget. I stayed on 6th floor and the view was lovely, looking over the Berlin skyline on a crisp February morning. Takes about 45 mins in a taxi to get here from Schonefeld airport. Staff were pleasant and unobtrusive - felt like I was living in my own apartment most of the time. I have stayed in hotels at twice the price in London which would never compete in terms of quality.
good location. less than 10 mins walk to KDW. plenty of grocery shops nearby. very quiet and peaceful street. great bathroom, although lock is tricky. small kitchenette with mini fridge and kettle. bed against the wall on one side. breakfast wasn't included. weak wifi signal. enough space for 2 people. not close to many bars/pubs, but good access to bus/ubahn. worth the money.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for New Year. We arrived December 29th and stayed for 4 nights. The location in our opinion was perfect. We took a bus from Tegel airport to the Zoological Gardens and walked from there (10 mins). My wife an I are keen walkers so getting around wasn't a problem but the hotel is very close to all good transport links. The staff at the hotel are warm and welcoming and extremely helpful. The room we had was on the 4th floor and there is a lift. Strangely, there are no stairs except for the emergency exit in the outside if the building. The room itself was basic but big enough for our needs. There was a fridge and a hob along with a sink......we only used the fridge as we ate out mist if the time. The bed was comfortable although it had one side against a wall which meant if you needed that middle of the night trip to the loo, whoever was against the wall had to slip out the bottom of the bed. My only complaint was that for a double bed, we had two, single duvets and the pillows were not comfortable at all. Breakfast at the hotel was basic but good enough to give you a good start to the day. Mainly continental with cereals, fruits, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses and breads and pastries.....there was hot food in the form of bacon and scrambled egg but I never ate the hot food as the other offerings were sufficient. All in all, I was happy with the hotel price and location and would definitely use it again if travelling to Berlin.
This hotel was perfect for us. The staff we all lovely and so accommodating (also spoke very good English which was helpful given our limited knowledge of German). It's just a 10 minute walk from the Zoo and KaDeWe just a short walk too. A bit of a walk to/from certain attractions like the Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Wall, etc. But a pleasant walk on a dry day and the public transport is easy once you get the hang of it and staff are always on hand to help and direct you. We were so surprised by how spacious and clean the room was given the price. The decor was simple and modern with a lovely bathroom and powerful shower. The rooms were serviced and cleaned everyday even though we didn't specifically request it. The wifi was also free and worked well even from our room which is handy when planning where to go and what to do each day. Although it looked good, we didn't try breakfast as there were numerous supermarkets and cafes just around the corner which was often a cheaper option. All in all an absolutely amazing stay and wouldn't hesitate for even a second to book again if we were ever to return to Berlin!
I stayed at Hotel Lutzow for 3 nights between Christmas and New year and I had a great time. The room was very clean, had everything we needed and it was very warm. We stayed on the second floor which had a view of the gardens at the back which was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend to anyone looking for a well priced room with a good location and is clean and comfortable. Thanks for a lovely stay Hotel Lutzow.
I stayed here for 5 nights. The room was spacious for one person. For two perhaps it would have been slightly tight as the bed is against the wall in a corner. I had a room at the back which looked onto some private gardens and offices. It was lovely and quiet and I could open the large window wide and sit in the sunshine. Although one up in the lift, at the back the room was actually at ground level. I would request one of these room again if I stayed here. The room was very well equipped although the safe wouldn't work at all. The desk did try to get it working but in the end gave me a master key. Gallons of hot water from a very good shower whenever you wanted it and lovely towels. Very clean with excellent room cleaning service ever day. I didn't use the café so can't comment. The Wi-Fi wasn't working which was a bit of a pain and the desk staff seemed to have no power over getting this resolved. The desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel in in a quiet area which has restaurants and bars close by. It is also just a few minutes away from the Underground where there is also an excellently stocked supermarket and across the road from the underground, an excellent wine shop. Overall I was exceedingly happy with my stay and would stay there again.
Hotel is situated just few minutes walking from Zoo, KaDeWe, Siegesaule, Kurfuerstendam. It is in a very quiet street with practically no trafic. Rooms are clean and offer basic comfort. Personnel is friendly, breakfast is rather modest. Price performance is good.
Stayed here while attending conference at Intercontinental which was just around the corner. Much cheaper than that option and had everything we needed - compact but with new showerroom, great shower, TV, good size fridge, kettle and hob. You have to rent the crockery and pot and pan if you want to cook -€5 a day or €20 a week. Wifi was good and a big desk to work at. Friendly staff. Great find for us. We didn't find it noisy as other reviewers have commented - room was on 4th floor. Taxi 20 mins from airport and cost €22.
We stayed this hotel for 4 nights in Berlin .The heater did not work since our first night until our last night. We informed this problem 3 times to the reception and every time they said they will go to check for us.But every night when we came back it's the same , nothing happened.Heater not worked as it was very cold lower 10 degree, how could you sleep well?No No..It's impossible . So terrible nights in Berlin. Also for room amentities ,because we not ask for room cleaned service, and they said the amentities will give2 day/time.It's ok for us but when we ask for that in our 3rd day ,the reception told me that she'll bring to our room -don't worried. But the same heater problem ,Nothing..Nothing happened. How can you trust and believe this hotel offer?No.No.No more and never again. It's one of the terrible hotels in our traveling life.
For the money a very good hotel, rooms are clean and include a basic kitchen and a tv. Bed was comfy and bathroom was a decent size.Central location just a 5 min walk from the zoo and the train station. Staff are very helpful and even provided a travel adaptor for our stay. Would stay again!
