I had purchased some waffles from Holland. I had cracked into a few waffles, and just happened to count the number of waffles I had left prior to leaving the hotel for the day. I returned back to the hotel to find that half of my waffles were missing! The cleaning staff had eaten my waffles. Now, I don't mind sharing, and the waffles were not of significant value. I was, however, trying to save the waffles for my family back home, and it makes me thing what else the cleaning staff may have taken or have snooped through...

Visited this Hotel recently for a late city break. Situated in a quiet tree lined street a short walk to the shops and restaurants of the Ku'dam it was a perfect location for my wife and I. The room was comfortable & spotless. The bathroom & shower perfect. The staff were all really helpful & friendly. Main thing it lacked was an evening restaurant and bar but there is plenty in the immediate area. Germany's KadeWe department store which is also one of the largest in Europe was a short walk away. The food dept there is probably better than Harrods. It is a budget Hotel but the value for money is first class. I love Berlin and look forward to returning next year.

Basically - it was disappointing. V small room with bunks. Very odd safe which took some mastering. Wi-fi cut out frequently. Only one very slow lift. Poor breakfast. Just a very odd place. Wierd smell of roast meat wafted in through window at 2 am. Pluses (yes!) cheap, nice reception staff and um.... not much else.

Located just off Budapeststrasse, this hotel is perfect. Lovely rooms, sparkling clean, nice staff and ideally located close to bus stops and about 15 mins for the U. Some nice restaurants in the area particularly JaNikaJa a Greek establishment. Internet a bit slow but tv, Shower etc perfect.

We booked a double room. Upon arrival we were given a small room with a small double bed with one side placed against the wall in such a way that the person sleeping on that side needed to pass over the other person to get out of bed. We requested another room and were given a regular sized room for €15 extra per night. Breakfast was good, except that had a very limited fruit choice. Wifi worked well, the bathroom was very small but with a great shower. The furniture was spartan, to say the least, (a cheap Ikea version), the room had only one chair. Transportation is closely accessible. Located on a quiet street The elevator is extremely slow and the manual outside door quite heavy to open, making getting in or out with luggage difficult.

This was the first time I walked into a hotel room and it had a bunk bed. I found that very odd. I booked a single room, not a hostel. The furniture seemed new, however the room was not clean. There was filth in the corners, especially behind the curtain and some bathroom surfaces had quite a lot of dust. Also, I booked a non smoking room, but there appeared to be a smoker's corner right outside my room - leave the window open at night and you will be woken up by the smell of cigarette smoke. Breakfast was underwhelming with having to collect your cutlery etc., even napkins, from a counter.

I realize that our standards in NA are higher than those in Europe and the hotels in Berlin are expensive. I found this no frills hotel to be very no frills. Room is quite small and bed was not that comfortable. On the other hand it is close to Tiergarten, Zoo and to public transport. If you book as for north facing room as south side gets quite hot.

A comfortable bed and a hot shower were the key ingredients for me and the hotel certainly offered these. I was also, very unusually, able to opt for a single room which I appreciated, and the room was spacious and clean. The location was relatively convenient for public transport into the main tourist centre, or an attractive, but relatively long walk through the Tiergarten Park (I walk quickly and it took me at least half an hour up to Brandenburg gate). However, there were certainly no frills- I had not anticipated that to use the kitchenette required the equipment to be hired and felt that a single sachet of coffee and sugar per day was cutting it a bit fine! Also, while I was as far from the hotel lift as I could be there, was something near my room that was quite noisy until late and from early in the morning (perhaps a lift in the next building?). That said, it was immensely good value and met my needs.

The hotel wasn't anything special but it was in a good location near the zoo. There were plenty of great restaurants in the area and public transportation was close. This was a great place to stay on a budget.

When we stayed here we checked in around 5pm.We found the man at reception at this time slightly abrupt. All other reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The double room we had was very clean, spacious and quiet. It also had kitchenette facilities. The shower was particularly good. We did not include meals in our booking so I cannot comment on the food. The location felt lovely and safe.It was approx a 5 min walk to the Berlin Bikini and KaDaWe shopping malls.Would definitely stay here again if visiting Berlin.
