hotel are small with nice and young staff. i was there for ITB duration . the main problem is taxi and shuttle service near the hotel. the breakfast is egg and jam and some bread. you should reserve taxi from reservation desk for any transfer to city center
This hotel was booked as I was attending the International Hotel Investment forum at the Intercontinental which was a 2 minute walk away. The hotel is very handy to the bus 200 and various tourist attractions. It’s also only 1 bus change to Tegel airport. On arrival we checked in fine. The room was spacious clean and warm. Basic beds but absolutely fine. Then only issue we had was no hot water on day 2 which was annoying. It was fixed that evening though. There is also a great Greek round the corner. One bit of feedback is that a horrible of water cost 5 Euro 10 so take your own. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment. Cleaning staff were super friendly. Don’t be put off by negative reviews. It was value for money.
The hotel is about 30 minute walk from the Brandenburg gate but a walk that would be nice in warm weather. The hotel is also very close to Berlin zoo. Easily accessible via public transport. The hotel is a dump inside and out and my room stunk of cigarettes and urine. The bed was tiny consider it was meant to be for 2 people it was much smaller than a basic double bed in the uk. Pillows were very uncomfortable too. I’d say it was overpriced for the quality you get. With the exception of the dark haired gentleman on nights The reception staff clearly did not enjoy engaging with customers. The smell and tiny beds were just depressing and made me want to go home.
Not located in the city center it is a good option if you are visiting the city in Christmas time. Very close to one of the most nice and famous Christmas market, Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtnis-Kirche. From there, by subway, the rest of the city is very easy to visit.
Nice compact rooms - has everything you need. Little kitchenette is a lovely touch so that if you want to save a bit of money you can make your own food. Nice clean bathroom, couldn't fault it. Great value for money.
We stayed for 3 nights in February 2018. The hotel has 8 floors and a very small lift so we got a lot fitter using the stairs! Our group had two quadruple rooms and a single. The single room had a mini kitchenette set up. The quad rooms were spacious and clean. En suite shower and toilet, one room with bunks, wardrobe, desk and a tv leading to a joining room with 2x twin beds, wardrobe coffee table sofa and bean bags. The room was clean and comfortable and equipped with several bottles of sparkling water. We had a sweet on our pillow each night and fresh towels although glasses used for the water etc were not washed/replaced. The other members of our group commented that their room didn't seem to have been cleaned during our stay. The room had a kettle in the cupboard but no cups or tea/coffee. The breakfast room was open all day for guests to have a hot drink. this room had a nice café style feel to it and was self service, but the hot water wasn't always hot and took a long time to replace when asked. The staff were all very helpful, and were able to help us in several ways such as selling bus tickets, giving directions to local places to eat etc. Overall I was pleased with the hotel as it was a clean and comfy base for us to explore Berlin from. The centre of Berlin is a good 20/30 min walk away along the Tiergarten but the busses are just round the corner, and very reliable and cheap.
We actually liked almost everything. It was really value for money! The room we had has a normal size but it has towels, amenities as well as a little kitchenette with fridge, microwave, and kettle. It was a nice gesture as well that they left inside the room a bottle of sparkling water and gummies on the bed. Wifi was also very good. Moreover, just 1 minute walk from the hotel, there is a bus stop that will take you to the city center. Take note as well that you must pay 14€ in order to get all the kitchen utensils (cooking pot, frying pan, etc). However if you just want to have some plates, spoon, fork, knife and so on, you can ask reception for free. The thing we actually like the most was the bed as it was very very comfy that I am now thinking about to buy the same one. Overall, I would choose the same hotel for my next trip in Berlin. Negative aspects: Breakfast could have been better, that is, more things such as chocolate drink (they actually have but you must pay for it), different kind of ham and so on. Customer service could be improved just a little bit.
We stayed at this hotel so we could attend the Christmas Markets in Berlin. When we arrived the male receptionist was quite blunt with us, gave us our key, pointed us towards the lift (very small lift) and that was it. We had to figure out where we went for breakfast ourselves as there was quite often no one at the desk. The breakfast was very basic- we were slightly disappointed. We had breakfast included in the price of our room, but if you haven't i do not recommend paying extra each day to include it (you need breakfast cards to give to the restaurant- that i had to go to reception to ask for!) it's not worth it. Also if you don't go down for breakfast early you are likely to miss out- staff were quite slow to refill when any of the food had ran out and there wasn't much of it. Our room had a kitchenette in which we found quite odd. Bed was comfy, shower was nice, our tv didn't work. Our room was the first one you got to when you got out of the lift, because of this we did hear the lift going up and down a lot and people walking up and down the hallway but we were still able to sleep. Location of the hotel was ok, we were able to walk to a train station (about 10 minute walk) to then travel around Berlin and we had some shops and restaurants a little walk away from the hotel. It is set back from the road a bit, easy to miss when you are walking past. The hotel does have a display of mini cards with offers and discounts for restaurants and attractions etc in reception that we found very useful and they have maps in reception too (both of which are free). There was wifi available at the hotel for free, you get the login details on a slip of paper in your room, connectivity was quite good, obviously gets a bit slow during busy periods but was fine for free wifi. Overall the room was acceptable for what we paid, fine for a budget hotel. Location is good for access to transport. We didn't find the staff to be overly welcoming and were not impressed by the breakfast.
We've been in this hotel twice in room K38 (for four people), simple but very useful. The first time it was right, but on this second visit things didn't go very well. When we arrived the receptionist almost didn't understand us in English, it was 24:00 and he couldn't find our reservation that was previously confirmed... imagine the situation We always like having breakfast at the hotel. In this hotel is very basic but enough. However, this time, from the first day, there were no products and they didn't reply them. On Saturday, the schedule was extended until 11:00, so we went down before 10:00 and there was nothing. There was no bread for toast, no croissant, no bacon, no scrambled eggs, no salami, no homemade yoghurts, not even plates, we were 4 people and there were only 2 plates, it was totally unattended. We waited a little and when the waitress showed up we told her the situation. After a while she took out some bacon, not enough for 4 people, and nothing else, no plates. The waitress and the cook were walking around, laughing and still not attending the breakfast. We were tired for the situation so we decided to complain at reception, where the waitress and the cook were talking to the receptionist. It was 10:30 and we were still unable to have breakfast. The receptionist, who was laughing with them, did not believe us and still doubted our complaints. She came into the dining room with us and it was shamefully: she started to scream at us with really bad manners without giving us any reasonable explanation. The worst part was the attitude of the cook. I speak a little bit of German and he was insulting at us the whole time ("spanien", "spanisch") because we were Spanish, trying to justification the emptiness of food. The final decision of the receptionist was to give us back our breakfast money and not to replace food. I would also like to add that we asked for the complaints form three times and she did not want to give it. That is not a solution. A hotel must offer a good breakfast service during the whole schedule, especially when it was 10:00 on Saturday and that day ended at 11:00, and not facing us with insults and bad manners to the client. Neither the waitress nor the cook attended the breakfast servive, nor the receptionist was diplomatic in solving the problem, but the most embarrassing thing is that in your hotel you insult them, scream and mock the customers.
I had purchased some waffles from Holland. I had cracked into a few waffles, and just happened to count the number of waffles I had left prior to leaving the hotel for the day. I returned back to the hotel to find that half of my waffles were missing! The cleaning staff had eaten my waffles. Now, I don't mind sharing, and the waffles were not of significant value. I was, however, trying to save the waffles for my family back home, and it makes me thing what else the cleaning staff may have taken or have snooped through...
