Very good and cheap place. The breakfast was perfect, especially the little bread was very soft and tasty. We arrived late and the host was waiting for us even the fact that they do not have 24hour reception. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is within walking distance from the city centre and is very close to a train station.
Vrey restrict conditions with booking fees and cancellations. Not co-operative with travel agents. they have charged money ,the whole ammount of the stay on a wrong creit card and they refused to refund the money !!! the credit card was given by mistake and although they were informed that this credit card was given by mistake ,they have charged the whole ammount of the stay -although it was two months before arrival- and refused to refund the money back!! Be careful with the booking conditions. As a travel agent who respect travellers ,I do not reccommend this hotel to noone!
Not an enjoyable stay at this "apart hotel" The room was at first look nice. It had all that a single traveler would want. And a good shower/toilet facilities. BUT!!!!! The wifi was terrible. My bed was a single with a dble mattress put on top. I found that out when I sat on the edge to take my shoes off and ended up on the floor!!! The sheet on the bed was to me a table cloth, didn't even reach the 4 corners. So if you move around a lot in sleep, it's a fight!! The pillow was like a dogs throw in a basket. I was told it was a very quiet room. As I was bkd in for 4 nights. No blackout curtains and my window was 3m above where all the bikes are stored. ( ring ring!!) The breakfast was not good. It looked like they buy in the easiest things to store and put out with a minimum of effort. Others where not pleased. LOCATION. If it's the quiet/business part of town you wish, its good. It's also very close to the river and lots of cafes/restaurants. (Really nice). However if you wish to go to the city center it's a 30min walk. Or you have to go to train stn. If your timing is good, door to door 15min. Or a taxi. My room was cleaned each day. But the apart/hotel must have a policy not to change the towels. I feel a little cheated by the hotels fotos and self description that lead me to book. But hey that's how it goes sometimes. Please don't let this review put you of Berlin. I loved it and had a great time.
I stayed 3 nights in this hotel (for seminar in Messe) Pros: Clean Good price/quality balance Close to the Messe by foot - 10 minutes (seminar) Cons: Do not expect great services (breakfast) Do not expect modern room (need refresh)
I stayed 3 nights the room was clean small and with dark furniture which made it look even smaller, however the bathroom was also very clean with a powerful shower the bed was comfy, the breakfast was basic continental but edible, the hotel 8s not far away at all from friedrichstraße but its on a quiet street so no noise from trains/trams, not amazing but not a bad little hotel to be fair! Quite cheap too
Stayed 4 nights. Very well located for central Berlin (museums, attractions) but in a quiet street. S and U-Bahns a 10 minute walk away (also a direct train link to Schonefeld Airport). Room was warm and clean, staff helpful and breakfast was basic but adequate. Main downside was the lack of tea/coffee-making facilities in room. There are facilities near the Reception Desk but this necessitated a brief walk outdoors in the street since rooms are accessed via a separate entrance. Would have been less of an issue had the Berlin temperature managed to make it above freezing!!
I'm not staying there again. Definitely not! * The door of the room (212) wasn't well fixed so all the time someone in the other rooms opened or closed their room's door it seemed someone was trying to open our door; * Rooms really noisy! We could easily hear steps outside and people talking in their rooms as if they would be in our room; * Such bad shower; * The first receptionist was so rude! * On the first day, there was no knifes during breakfast so I had to go asking the staff; * There's stairs in the middle of the hall!! Like... For what **** reason did they put stairs in the middle of the way? Just to make our life easier with big cases! * Wifi is 5 euro a day!! I used to not even look at wifi prices once EVERY SINGLE HOTEL I've ever stayed (loads) they had free wifi!! In Berlin you have free wifi on the bus, on train stations, McDonald's, trams, every single place for free. WHY DO THEY CHARGE 5 EURO FOR THE ******* WIFI???
Stayed at the Hotel Amelie for a long weekend. Lovely hotel, great staff, helpful and friendly. On booking my friend and I said we would be late - didn't realise how late - but the lovely man stayed up to the small hours to make sure we were booked in and had everything we needed. Above and beyond. Clean room and lovely shower. A really nice fresh breakfast every morning. Thoroughly recommend.
This hotel is well located but that is where the positive ends. Firstly and importantly the misrepresent their facilities: I paid for a room with ensuite bathroom and I had a really hard time in getting one as they were insisting in giving me a 'shoe box' with no bathroom. They advertise as wifi in all areas, untrue there is no internet access in the rooms, or at least not in mine, I was here for business and that was quite crucial, it jus wasn't working. But the worst part is the absolutely appalling customer service, the staff was rude, offensive and inappropriate. I raised the isssue of the internet, very politely, and the manner in which I was treated was appallling. I travel a lot and have experienced all sort of service, some of it questionable, but this was by far the most shocking one, the actual words used by staff at reception to respond to my concern are unacceptable. I strongly suggest against staying at this hotel, and I am surprise that either trip advisor or booking.com would even have it on their website.
