Certainly corona makes it harder to operate for hotels. However, I arrived in Berlin from Switzerland where I too stayed at a hotel, and got the same level of service as I always do at that property. Whilst here everything went wrong from the moment of my arrival. Reception staff was slow and checking took a good 30 minutes. The rooms are fine - however, in my two nights there they did not clean the room or change towels once. During breakfast I waited 45 minutes for a tiny portion of scrambled eggs with some prawns - which arrived separately after I had already finished the eggs. So overall, it’s great to pretend that you are a leading property in the Berlin hotel market. However, I was hugely disappointed and for it was definitely the first and last time at this hotel.
Excellent hotel tastefully remodeled from a historic era. The outdoor restaurant is a nice touch. The room was excellent and spacious for Europe. The hotel staff was all incredible. I loved my stay and would definitely stay there again!
We have previously stayed in several Four Seasons and The Ritz Carltons over the years, this is one of the best. Excellent hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Everything was top notch and perfect.
From the moment we arrived till the time came to depart, we were wowed by the Hotel am Steinplatz. Where to begin? The hotel itself is resplendent -- an art nouveau jewel with the sensibility of a boutique hotel and the services of a major hotel. The room was among the loveliest I have witnessed, with story book windows, a lush bed, and commodious shower. Perhaps best of all: the staff. When asked for directions, the front desk provided detailed, written guidance, researching subway and above-ground rail connections. The staff in the restaurant was the quintessence of affability and unfailingly attentive. The breakfast -- included with our room -- proved luscious way to start the day. Special praise to Anastasia and Chloe of the restaurant team. By the time we departed, we felt we had two dear friends in Berlin. One other bonus: The hotel has a lovely gym on the fifth floor, but, of course, it is not full service. However, a very well equipped full-service gym sits just two doors down and the rate -- stunningly! -- is just 5 euros a day. Truly, words are inadequate to describe our apprecoation of the Hotel am Steinplatz!!!
