Nothing but fantastic things to say about our holiday in Germany at Hotel am Steinplatz! Its a beautiful hotel, looks more like a modern home than anything, very cosy with very warm and welcoming staff. A small note I loved the lighting in the bathroom for doing hair and makeup, lots of counter space and really good mirrors and lighting! The outdoor courtyard where breakfast is served is so beautiful, it was by far my favourite place in the hotel, took many pictures.
My partner and I spent four nights at the Hotel Am Steinplatz early in October. I selected the hotel after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. It is, without doubt, the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. I say this despite the fact that my partner was unwell from arrival. The hotel staff was amazing, so solicitous and genuinely concerned about his health. He very much appreciated the “special” tea that was made by the bar staff. The combination of fresh mint, ginger and honey helped to soothe his pain. The facility meets the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort and the food is excellent. However, it is the staff that makes it extra special. We can’t wait to return.
Staff: Hotel staff were fantastic. Can't say enough nice things about them - nothing was too much trouble, and would preempt and be proactive on everything. Very friendly and efficient. Hotel: The hotel was clean, comfortable and stylish. The bathroom was very big in comparison with the rest of the room. Good quality bedsheets, mattress and pillows. Breakfast was ok - nothing wrong with it per se, just maybe too much processed red meat and sugar in the choices for me. What I had (eggs and smoked salmon) was good. Location: In a nice location, but not the place to be really for the major tourist attractions if you want to walk everywhere. If you don't mind taxi'ing it around then its about 15 mins to Mitte centre. When staying here, we were on business and the hotel was near the conference so perfect for that. Fitness centre: Quite basic - few treadmills, X trainer, step machines, a multi function weight machine and some light dumbbells. Can just get by on what they have. Bar: Warm and intimate. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others.
This hotel is beautiful. The attention by the staff could not be better. The neighborhood is full of lovely restaurants and cafes. Two block walk to the hop on hop off bus. Also walking distance to the amazing Ka De We department store that has food halls to rival Harrod’s. Will always stay here when in Berlin.
We stayed in the Autograph Collection am Steinplatz last week and it was amazing throughout our entire stay. This beautiful appointed Hotel has the best staff I have met so far. All were helpfull and proactive in Meeting guest Needs. Moreover the Hotel is super central und has a one of a Kind design. It is THE place to stay when in Berlin!
Last week, my husband and I traveled to Berlin for the first time. A friend of ours recommended this hotel and it could not have been better. The building is beautiful, as are the rooms and bathroom: spacious, high ceilings, very modern décor and furniture. The beds were heavenly and while in the room there is no noise at all! The location could not be better: while on a quiet residential area, it is two blocks away from the subway and one or two blocks from great restaurants, bars and shops. The perfect hotel to enjoy and discover Berlin!
Absolutely gorgeous property with very chic ambiance. Located in a quiet alley adjacent to two main roads. Professional staff pays every detail to customers' needs. Upgraded to a small suite on the top floor - spacious room with modern decor. Extremely comfortable. Breakfast is included for platinum elite members. Excellent breakfast with great quality. Simply love this hotel, easily my favorite hotel in Berlin for future trips!
I stayed in two dozens of 5* hotels in Berlin and should say that this one is definitely in Top 5. Occupying and old but fully renovated massive building in a quiet corner of Steinplatz the hotel is a boutique style venue with impeccable service. The interiors are elegant and warm, the ambiance is relaxing and intimate, bar and restaurant with its lovely open secluded courtyard give you opportunity to invite friends for a casual gathering. There was a confusion with internet and printer in business corner but who cares when all the rest was perfect.
I chose the hotel on the basis of TA reviews and the hotel’s architecture & heritage. Our stay was part of a birthday treat. It wasn’t cheap, with the plunging GBP, but it is very good value: comfort, decor, tranquility, location and a great breakfast. From check in to departure, all staff were particularly courteous, friendly, efficient and helpful. (They would be excellent role models for staff in other hotels where ‘service’ is less well understood and smiles are in very short supply!) The precise location of the hotel is an almost unexpected bonus. You can walk easily to different U-Bahn/S-Bahn/DB and bus stations AND to good local restaurants offering a wider range of cuisines than you might expect. The Zoo and the History of Berlin Museum, among other places of interest, are only a short walk away. Staff will help you with advice and travel-cards/day tickets. I asked for and was given a quiet room - overlooking the courtyard rather than the road. I also booked a room with a larger bed to suit the need to ‘nurse’ an injured shoulder better. If you have particular needs, do ask or book accordingly. The bed was so comfortable and the room so pleasant that I felt like just moving in, as guests sometimes did in the past!
The difference in room quality is quite extreme at this hotel. A few month ago I had stayed here for a quick one night stay, and was given a very nice room with a spectacular bathroom/shower room. Next time around, Another quick visit, I was suddenly put in an old tired room, despite having booked it through the same agent, and at the same level. When I asked why they had given me this room, I was just told that they were fully booked. I interpreted it as ‘you were just lucky to get that room last time’. Not sure about other frequent travelers, but you would have hoped they’d keep track of your history with them, and try to keep things consistent.
