Room was very clean, hotel wasn't that far from the city centre, very easy to find your way about and the travel pass is well worth getting which can be purchased from the hotel reception. Berlin is a wonderful city with lots of interesting places to see. Particularly moving was the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial.
Pros: Chic decor throughout room and hotel Wonderful, wonderful staff!!!!!! Located in cute neighborhood Bike rental on site Car parking available Cons: Pillows are down and do not maintain any shape Wi-fi, while free, does not work well (or at all) No fridge or safe in the room Room was rather small A bit expensive overall
I visited for the Berlinale (got a great rate) and the location of this hotel worked really well to get to several venues. Great, cheerful service especially from Steven and the lady who checked me in (forgot to get her name). I had a room on the 7th floor with a balcony and morning sunlight and it was beautiful! Bed was super comfy too. The drawbacks: no minfridge (which I was told they plan to add) and no kettle in the rooms. The cafe/bar closes at 10:30, and the surrounding area is mostly residential so no kettle= no coffee/tea after hours, which doesn’t sound like much, but it’s one of those details that can make a stay a lot more comfortable.
We stayed just one night but we were very satisfied with our room. The room is well equipped and in a good stand. It was well decorated as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is pretty central although the hotel is in a very small street in the middle of nowhere. We did not try the breakfast which was for us a little bit too expensive (15€!) but the breakfast room and the bar looked great too!
The hotel was great. Nice and clean room. The receptionist very nice. Parking in garage. The breakfast a little bit expensive EUR 13,90, but right around the courner is wonderful bakery. I really recommend this hotel.
Hotel was well located close to public transport. Points of interest (museums, monuments, Alexanderplatz etc) were all within 20-25 min reach with public transport. Friendly staff, tidy rooms and a good value for money breakfast. Recommend it for a stay in Berlin.
We booked during a sale and it was just as cheap as a hostel in Berlin for two people! The staff was SO friendly and helpful, even when I had made a mistake in booking. The room itself was clean and had good lighting/ outlets/ everything worked in the bathroom. The location was also excellent and we had no trouble walking to wherever we needed to go each day. Would definitely recommend!
The hotel is around 3-4 km from the main station. Bus no 85 travels close to hotel. It is the 5th stop. By taxi it is around 11 Euros. The room size is ok but rooms are clean. There are no toiletries offered. The breakfast spread is good. Wifi is stable and of good speed. There are several restaurants in and around the hotel.
I love the Fjord. It's got lovely staff, access to 3 different UBahn stations and a RE platform at Potsdamer Platz and is close to both the very new, rebuilt parts of Berlin and the very old East Berlin with war era bunkers etc. And I particularly love it because the Berlin Philharmonik is only a walk up the street, and the Tiergarten just around the corner. My only beef was the 'sound' issue of people talking out in the corridors late, or in my case dropping things on the floor above late at night. Perhaps a light sleeper should be on the top floor.
The hotel is good value for money. It is in a good location where you can walk to the city centre. It is very clean and the breakfast was above expectations. The highlight was the receptionist who was extremely friendly and helpful. That really made a difference!
