Booked this hotel for it's very attractive price and was not disappointed. Stayed three nights and everything was just sufficient for us. The room was spacious, clean and had the necessary amenities. We really liked that it was close to the U7 and there was a grocery store right outside the door which helped us to save a lot of money not eating out breakfast and dinner. The shower was a bit of a paid as others mentioned but we dealt with it, again, for the price we were not expecting the Marriott. Staff, despite other reviews, were friendly and did not mind our English nor our multiple questions. I would highly recommend this option for budget travelers. We arrived from Schonefeld Airport and were easily able to get to the hotel by public transport. It was a quick trip to meeting point on the east side for Insiders Tours and just as close for the main train station in Berlin.
AirBerlin put us up here due to a delay. Didn't expect much but was nicely surprised. Room was a little small. Clean and comfortable. The restaurant had very good food and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in Europe.
Berlin 15-17 March Econhotel: normal sized studio rooms. We requested a double bed and got 2 singles next to each other and both singles and different bases and sized beds which wasn't comfortable. Blankets and pillows were great. Would recommend staying here if on a budget. Buffet breakfast was pretty average. Bathroom shower good pressure only that after a shower the whole floor is wet because there is no shower base it is a open shower plan which is right next to the toilet bowl which is a bit err. Overall happy. 3 stars for me.
We stayed at this hotel in the last week of March 2017. The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood of Berlin, on less than a 10-minute walk to Charlottenburg Castle. There are bus stops in front of the hotel: one in the direction of the city center while the other will take you within 10 minutes to the airport. The metro station is on a 5-minute walk from the hotel. There are many very affordable restaurants, stores, bakeries, pubs, supermarkets, hairdressers, salons (etcetera) close to the hotel as well. The staff is polite and helpful and speak beside German also very good English. Information in the hotel (manuals, signs) is displayed in German, English and Dutch. There is an information corner in the lobby where you can grab a coffee or tea or use the internet terminal for free. Breakfast is 11 euro per person per breakfast if you decide to book this upfront. If you would decide to use their breakfast option on the day itself, it will cost you 12,50 euro per person. There are also bakeries in the very close environment of the hotel that offer you excellent alternatives to their breakfast. Our room was located on the third floor and was spacious and quiet. The room was equipped with very good beds, clean sheets and good pillows and provided us great nights of sleep. However, the interior of the room is a bit outdated and can use a makeover. The room had a TV with German, French, Dutch and English channels. The room had Wifi with a good signal strength and was also free of charge. The hotel has also a restaurant with a quite attractive menu with reasonable prices and there are numerous excellent alternatives in the direct environment of the hotel. Overall this hotel offered a good quality/price ratio for spending the nights in Berlin. We paid at check-out, so no nonsense about having to pay it all upfront or to leave a credit card number. The hotel shows good faith to their guests which is very nice. We were very satisfied about our stay at the hotel.
I've never had a worst stay. First of all the rooms are out dated and look like something out of the movie The shining, but that's not the worst part. I had to ask to change rooms three times because I could hear the groups of Italian teenagers in the room below me.i could hear EVERYTHING. I slept horribly two nights in a row. The staff did nothing to shut these kids up. Also beware the staff will die before they crack smiles for you, in particular Maria was unfriendly and seemed to hate her job and anyone that speaks English. The only competent remotely friendly one was the young man with blue eyes at the front desk,
Good place. It is right in front of the bus stop and only 3 stops to airport and others places. Very convenient transportation. We asked two double rooms but it turned out with three beds. It is too big enough for two people.
Really nice hotel. Good value for money. Was not far from shopping districts, food, sites. Hotel was clean upon arrival, had housekeeping and staff were friendly and helpful to us. Would recommend and stay again
Brilliant hotel considering the price we paid. 24 hour check in and free Wi-Fi. Staff all pretty helpful and polite.Pretty sure we had a room upgrade too as we on the Business room floor. Not sure what the other rooms would of been like but ours was quite small for two ladies who packed everything but the kitchen sink. The bathroom was also small but ok for just a few days. We did have a few issues opening our door, the lock was really tricky and did need help opening it a few times - of course they make it look so easy when they do it! The hotel bar is open until 01.00 which was handy for us as we didn't arrive until 22.30 but is a little pricey! I paid 9 euros for one cocktail but it was good. We decided to pay for breakfast on the day of our departure and sure it was all nice food but I don't think it was particularly worth the 25 euros we paid between the two of us. The location is a bit out of the way but very close to the airport and as along as you're confident in using their public transport, its super easy to get any where. The underground is at the end of the street and the bus stop is just outside of the hotel. There's also a supermarket next door too in case you have forgotten to pack anything or want some snacks. Loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again if we come back.
Was a clean, friendly hotel, great breakfast. Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Contiki trip, can not fault the room, location or staff. We did have a triple share room and one key though... with the three of us travelling we had to return the key whenever we left, couldn't access the room if we needed to individually so would bear that in mind if you're a group who may separate! It may have just been a precaution as we were a large group but incredibly annoying nonetheless
We are here to be part of the contiki tour it was simple yet all the necessary needs you need are here and its close to the un derground and to the supermarket. Also it has nice breakfast and clean bathroom. The wifi is fast aswell.
