We stayed in this hotel in May for 4 nights. The hotel is located beside the train station so was easy to get to from the airport and easy to get around the city. We arrived at the hotel at 1pm and were able to get an early check in. The hotel staff were friendly, the room was nice and clean with a large bathroom although had two single beds rather than a double bed. The only issue we had was the air conditioning in the room stopped working after the first day. The hotel was quiet, the sky bar is really cool and dinner in mavericks restaurant was nice. Ideal for a short stay in Berlin.
Good location with good connection to the center. Friendly staff that upgraded us to a larger room so we would have the double bed we preferred. Very good breakfast. Two imperfections: the coffee milk in the room was past its expiration date and there were a couple of (I hope) coffee stains on the bed linnen.
We stayed there for a football weekend. Rooms were nice; tram and S-Bahn immediately outside the hotel. Also not too far away from Ostbahnhof. Breakfast was a bit chaotic but OK and the food was good. Overall, we liked the place.
I stayed here with my girlfriend for the long weekend in June and if I ever visit Berlin again, I'll be looking to stay here again. The minute I stepped into the hotel, I knew I made the right choice booking it as it looks the part when you step in. We were greeted at the front desk and then directed to our room. The room was spacious along with the toilet room. Each morning we had breakfast, which was lovely as it had plenty of options for everyone's taste. Also, outside is the tram which goes directly into the city and down the road a wee bit is the train which goes to various locations. It's in an ideal spot and I really enjoyed my time here!
This was my second time staying here and on both occasions the customer service is amazing. Well done Naja who checked me in. I am not sure what time there check in was but I got my room as soon as I arrived at the desk which was about 1:30. I literally have nothing to fault in the room nor the service I received apart from the fact that they have a mini bar and one of the red bulls were opened and the person put the lid back on half drank.. This should have been picked up by the housekeeping team. Also on the 2nd day of my stay at 9:30 housekeeping knocked me to ask if I wanted my room cleaned. Come on this is SUPER early!!! Breakfast finishes at 10:30 so why on earth would you knock someone and asked if they wanted their room clean that early? Also on the last day I asked reception for a late checkout and this was honour until 2PM. At nearly 12PM someone walked in the room. I literally just came out of shower. They could clearly hear talking in the room and still walked in. Absolutely disgusting as they didn't apologise or anything... About an hour later someone walked in again! Does the reception team not communicate with housekeeping to eliminate issues like this arising? It was worth mentioning to reception but honestly I didn't even bother! The hotel also offer a left luggage facility which is quite useful when you have a late flight. From this hotel to Berlin Schönefeld is approximately 30 minutes on the S9 train which terminates at the airport so minimum chances of getting lost. Also the trams M5,M6,M8 stops right outside the hotel and they take you into the city centre. The room was quite large. They even honoured my request of an extra bed in the room so I didn't have to use the sofa bed and could instead use it as a sofa. The room was quite massive. It had both a shower and a bath. Lovely hotel team. Keep up the hard work. They also have a spa facility which is useful after a long day out in Berlin. 5* experience at a 2* price! Oh, just to add their breakfast is a solid 8/10. There are various options especially for vegetarians.
One of the best hotels I ever stayed. Great service, large rooms and great interior. Loved the layout and furnishing. It seems not that central, but it has great connection to the Messe and to the inner city, so no problem at all. Would certainly book again this hotel when back in Berlin!
Well, I was really looking forward to staying here after reading the reviews. Booked it to celebrate my wife's 65th birthday. Paid for a superior room, asked if they had walk in showers via telephone call which they confirmed. On arrival found we had been allocated a disabled room which was nowhere near as nice as what I had booked (obviously to accommodate a wheelchair in the large bathroom). The room was not particularly clean, the TV was unwatchable as the screen was flickering constandly. That was bad enough but as I was about to enter the bathroom for a shower the following morning the electricity went off. My wife and I had to hurriedly dress after a phone call to reception resulted in a Tech being sent up to the room. After 30mins or so he got the electricity back on but asked us to go for breakfast to ensure it was repaired. Hence I had to go to eat having not had a shower. Not good. We got back to the room to find a note saying it had been repaired. Before I had a chance to get a shower it went off again. The Tech returned & phoned reception to ask them to change our room. Someone from the desk came up with another key for which turned out to be another disabled room. The guy did not even offer an apology, just exchanged keys. In the changed room the kettle did not work, there was only 1 x bathtowel so I again had to contact reception to get this rectified. Oh yes, nearly forgot to mention, when at breakfast we sat down to eat and after a few minutes the family on the next table got up to leave....with their dog which had been sat under the table. Yeah, I can accept a pet friendly hotel but dogs in the dining room??? I could go on but enough said I think.
After reading all the great reviews I thought to myself....result...fantastic hotel. What a total let down. I know I got the room on Expedia but seriously could you have put me in a smaller room. A shower not a bath. I'm a bath person. Not able to get room til 3pm. I mean it's an ok room but Holiday Inn Express or Premier Inn have larger rooms than this. Very very very disappointed in the Hotel so far.
Spend 5 days visiting various sites in Berlin. In Andels you get nothing out of the ordinary, but the ordinary is good. Thankfully it looks better from the inside, than the rather dull exterior. The SkyBar is a huge bonus, However, with easy access, great prizes and views. Eating at the hotel is rather hard unless you book 4-8 weeks in advance. If you dont, theres a cozy, but rather boring cafe on the Ground level. Service was up to par, hospitable staff, and clean. I would stay there again. Pool/wellness area was somewhat disappointing allthough i cannot comment on alle their treatments, and services there, since i didnt try them. Looked appealing though.
A bit far from Berlins hotspots, but still a nice pick for your stay. Soundproof windows kept the noisy traffic outside in silence. Nutritious breakfast, clean and tidy rooms and a well equipped gym. The concierge-service was also helpfull.
