I stayed at this convenient and clean hotel last weekend. I was having a lovely stay even though the parking was stupidly exspensive until I suddenly fell ill on the Friday night. Saturday morning we got up and unfortunately still really poorly that much so we had to cut our trip short. On checkout myself and my friend were stood at the reception, the receptionist at the time commenting how poorly I was ,advised us the night we had already paid for ( Saturday night) could not be refunded. I think is utterly unacceptable due to unforeseen circumstances and due to the fact we had no intentions of cutting our trip short. I think refunds should be looked into on a case by case basis. The hotel was in a great location with good breakfast facilities and a modern, exceptionally clean room unfortunately the fact we cannot be refunded has really put me off using Holiday Inn’s in future and the over priced parking also.
Stayed one night here in a spacious double room, nicely furnished in modern style, all necessaries provided, good sized bathroom, everything clean, good breakfast included in the price. Not in the historic area of Windsor, but within 20 minutes walk of station and large shopping precinct. Staff pleasant and restaurant food good. Would stay again.
We stayed here overnight whilst doing family research in the area. It is very central to Windsor without being directly in the centre - only a 10 minute walk to the river. It is also an ideal location for Legoland. It is very clean, the staff helpful and breakfast was good too. The only negative is that the car park is £13 a night! There is a car park by the river that you can park in for only £1.50 a night but it’s a 10 minute walk with luggage.
All the comforts of a Holiday Inn Express, not exactly in the centre of town but it is within a 25 minute walk. Handy for a visit to Legoland which was our main intention but requires transport to and from. Limited dinner menu but was reasonable. Parking at the hotel was expensive, in fact I was disappointed we had to pay as guests in the hotel.
My husband and I spent two nights at the Holiday Inn Express Windsor recently. On arrival we managed to park in the underground car park. Parking is a little tight and costs £13 per night but is worth it. We were checked in very efficiently and given a map of Windsor. Our room overlooked the police station but we were not expecting a spectacular view. The room was an adequate size and clean but the bed just an ordinary double which we found, although comfortable, a little small. The bathroom was a good size with an excellent large shower cubicle. The towels were large and fluffy. There was a hair dryer and tea and coffee facilities. The complimentary breakfast was very good and set us up for the day. There was an option to take it away if in a hurry. They even had vegetarian sausages on offer which was a bonus for me, a vegetarian. The walk into Windsor took about 15 minutes right to the castle and was an easy well lit route. We would most certainly stay again if in the area.
Somewhere to rest my head just for one night. Small car park full but a staff member gave up her place. Cosy little bar and bar menu available at 9.30pm. Decent chicken korma served quickly. Room overlooked police station, so no crowd trouble!
Stayed here for 2 nights in order to visit Windsor. Hotel was in a great location and within easy walking distance to the town centre and Windsor castle. Room was clean and comfortable but the double bed was small. Would have been better if it had been a king sized bed. We had the breakfast but were disappointed with the hot selection. Over cooked and only 4 items. Our other surprise was the car park charge in the hotel underground car oark. £13 a night ! Staff were pleasant and helpful.
This Holiday Inn Express is much nicer than those in the U.S. The reception, dining and bar are well designed and comfortable. Easy walk to Windsor Castle area and Eton. Lots of restaurants on the way towards the river. We planned to stay 1 night to make a international flight the following day but ended up arriving a day early. Great location to be close to Heathrow but still able to take a nice walk and have a dinner out before a long flight. Book early because prices can be very high if you book last minute or want to add an additional night (first night GBP75.00 adding a second night last minute GBP175.00) We found the front reception very nice and helpful. Breakfast had lots of choices from a hot cooked meal to yogurt and fruit.
My wife and I just stopped the one night, following a busy few days with extended family at nearby Legoland. As we arrived mid-morning we had no problem obtaining one of the spaces in the underground car park, where we could leave our cases in the car and stroll into Windsor for the day, before returning to check in late afternoon. The castle and town centre were just a comfortable 10-15 minute stroll away down St Leonard's Road and on our return leg we were able to check out potential eating places near to the hotel (we opted for Japanese - Misugo- separate review). Hotel room was comfortable and reception staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely consider stopping here again, if cause arose to ever return to Windsor.
Rude staff who are not helpful at all, they dont know what tgey are doing. Rooms are ok and clean... there is no room service! I asked to be moved to a family room so they moved me to a double disabled room claiming that the toilet is bigger in a disabled room.
