we stayed in holiday inn chain before, so we knew what quality to expect. Hotel located in a quiet neighbourhood, about 10-15 min walk from windsor high street, or 5 min drive. we took taxi, 6 pounds form or to rail station. Room size is very reasonable if you know london overage room size. tea coffee facilities, fast wifi free, what else do you need? breakfast a bit poor for holiday inn, but ok, will not stay hungry anyway. if you book a room well in advance- you may find attractive deal, we had our room right on new years eve 31.12.17-01.01.18 of 70 pounds room per night including breakfast!! so cant really fault anything!
Nice hotel but very expensive for a holiday inn express and when you add in the £13 extra a night for parking makes it very expensive. Just your normal holiday inn express but with 5* prices and a poor breakfast. Better value could be found
I started out not impressed. The room was small ( for Canadian standards) and the bathroom looked dirty. (Water marks/ tea marks in sink and in toilet.) However, the cleaner was on the floor and came back when I asked him to. Very close to the High Street and Windsor castle, convenient location for driving off the M4 as well. What won me over about this hotel was the service. Front desk staff were amazing from giving us directions to the Castle to booking a taxi on New Year's Day with only 10 hours notice for a large group. Breakfast was fresh and delicious with plenty to offer. Will stay here again without a doubt.
Stay here twice over the Christmas holidays, totalling 3 nights in total. The hotel provided us with a sofa bed for our son which was ok, while our bed was very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was good with a takeaway option provided. Parking overnight is £13. The shower is good and the only thing that stopped it getting a 5 score is the a/c isn’t very powerful.
Well situated for our visit to the castle. The staff were very helpful and pleasant accomodating our early arrival to park the car. We stayed on the coldest night of the year and found our room and tbe public areas of the hotel very cold. We therefore chose to eat in and ordered the daily special. We were the only people eating that night, though that should not have influenced the resulting inedible meal. We requested an extra blanket which was delivered to our room but didnt use as it was soiled. Fortunately the heating eventually came on and we had an excellent nights sleep. At breakfast we stuck to cereal and toast. On check out we were not charged for our meal and think the experience was just unfortunate. It would not put us off booking again should we be in the area and need a night or two stopover.
We arrived late bit staff were most helpful on getting us adjoining rooms for our teenagers. Breakfast was fantastic (included the price) and they even had take away bags for the muffins! Nice and close for the following morning visit to Windsor Castle.
Fortunately only stayed one night. The Express is tired and unloved. The car park if you manage to get a space, is tiny and expensive £13 a night. The beds are particularly uncomfortable, the mattresses are very worn. The sofa bed my son stayed on is appalling, if he was a heavy 5 year old I wouldn’t have let him stay on it. Very thin mattress - you could feel the springs penetrating through. Even for a one night crash it’s pretty poor.
We managed to check in early and was helped by Sarah (from Poland). She is one of the friendliest and helpful hotel receptionist I've ever encountered. Kudos and thank you Sarah for the wonderful service rendered. Hotel is a mere 10min walk to Windsor Castle....lined with many shops and restaurants. So for those driving...just leave you car at the hotel car park (£13 daily fee) and go do your thing. Rooms were clean and very functional. Breakfast better than some other HI Express I've stayed in. It's literally a full English style breakfast buffet style. Highly recommend.
Stayed for one night to catch up with some friends in the area, hotel very nice until you go for breakfast. Its a bit chaotic order a fried egg to have with cooked breakfast egg turned up after I had finished breakfast very slow a cooking. Ordered extra coffee twice but nothing turned up gave up asking again paid the bill and left
