Nice traditional French hotel, ideal for short break or stop over as we did. Only 50 miles from Calais. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and the rooms surprisingly good. Quite modern, nice furniture, quality linen, modern en suite. Good location as very central yet parking easy as you can park in the casino over the road for free. Deserves to be a three star really. The hotel restaurant was also very good. As you might expect it is very French, no concessions to foreigners, but I prefer it that way. Plat du jour was lovely and reasonably priced. Would stay again
Great value for a two day stop over near beautiful beach and lovely town. Rooms small but clean and modern. Didn't like the self check in when we arrived after 9 at night. Bar staff very helpful. They close early though so you need to go to the sea front if you want yo eat after 9 at night.
This is a small hotel opposite the casino. The rooms are very clean and very small and an odd shape. There is a restaurant which is mor3 than acceptable but the bar does not have any comfortable seating as is only open from 7pm until about 10 pm. Our room was spotlessly clean but had nowhere to put folded clothes and only 5 hangers for two people. Tea making facilities are provided but not replenished each day and no milk s provided. Breakfast is very continental and nicely presented. Boiled eggs are available but they have to be cooked by the guest. The town has f Berck is a bit tatty but the beach is amazing. A huge expanse of soft clean sand. The sea goes out a long, long way. The are loads of places to eat and they are all reasonably priced. I would not go back but it was nice for a short break.
The room was clean and tidy, however, we found the receptionist somewhat unhelpful on arrival. Which left us feeling a bit 'meh' about the whole experience. We arrived with two small children and the bed set up was not as shown / described online and, therefore, unsuitable for our 2 year old. Unfortunately the hotel were unable to provide us with a cot as they need 24 hours notice and we were only staying one night. So we improvised, without help, assistance or concern from the staff. We were told that we had made the booking so it was our own fault. We also asked if we could have a spare sheet as the two children would share a double sofa bed, but were told no and that they could use the extra blanket instead (in 30 degree heat)?? so the children fought over the sheet all night instead. Luckily it was blooming hot so they soon realised that they were better off without. Unluckily, we were opposite a very noisy bar which meant we had to shut the windows which made the room incredibly uncomfortable, until the shouting finished around 01:00 in the morning. Otherwise the hotel was fine, great location for town centre and nice touches like some children's toys in the eating areas, which were very welcome. As I said the room itself was very clean, however the bed set up was just not great for us with the little ones. I would phone and double check if you have any specific requirements to make sure in advance.
it's been the second time we stayed in this hotel. in August when it was very crowdy, and last week. very nice hotel, very clean and comfortable, not far from the beach. no car park at the hotel, but we could find easily free car parks in front of the hotel. breakfast is typical (I recommend the cheeses :)) and with variety. We will come back . if you inform about your time of arrival, you will manage with the automatic check-in, which is very helpful ; insert your reservation number, your credit card, and your key and wifi code will come to you :) !
All the staff we met in the hotel and restaurant were very friendly. The room was nice and clean, the shower room was brilliant, and it was nice and warm. The Demi pension which we had included a 17 euro menu which offered good choices combined with quality. The food was very good indeed. For breakfast everything was fresh, croissants, baguettes, meats, cheeses, boiled eggs etc. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as fruit juices. There is free parking behind the Casino which is opposite the hotel. Overall an enjoyable stay.
It is in a central location of the old town, half mile walk to the sea. Plenty of parking on the Casino site opposite or in the road, did not form the impression that security was a problem. The major hazard was the flight of steps up to the entrance. All the nearby properties were the same. Nothing can be done to improve it bu any body in a wheelchair should beware. Regional daily papers available. Lift. The bedroom was small, too small for an extended stay but fine for an overnight. Pleasant decor and clean. Our room had a balcony but there was not an access, railings had been erected just outside the access door. No A/C or fan. There was some traffic noise. There was a safe in our room (No. 206 ) but is was not screwed down, it could have been nicked. Comfortable bed with clean linens. Good en-suite, shower, everything worked, screwed down toileries
This is a great 2 star hotel near many amenities and the beach the rooms are adequate and above average 2 star rooms the breakfast is typical buffet but is regularly restocked to avoid shortages the cheese, cooked meats and hard boiled eggs are kept in the fridge. One tip on price, be careful of promises made by third parties as the actual price paid is the hotel advertised rate in local currency and we were asked to pay in advance including breakfast
Pleasant room, a little on the small size but nicely decorated, quiet and clean. There was a single chair/sofa that unfolded into a comfy, decent sized bed for our son. Modern bathroom was a good size with corner bath with shower over and was also very clean. We were on half board (approx 140€/night for 2 adults, 1 child, 1 dog in high season) and were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. Everything was made to order with fresh ingredients and there was a good choice on the D,B&B menu. Breakfast was a self service continental affair with a good selection (local cheeses, meats, croissant, bread, eggs etc). The highlight of our stay here though were the staff and other guests who were all utterly charming, friendly, helpful and put up with our bad French! We stayed with our little dog and there was plenty of places to take him out for walks. You can walk dogs on the beach either side of the swimming zone and the beach is fine sand and goes on forever! It is backed by dunes and is a lovely place to walk. There are a wide range of shops and restaurants in the streets around the hotel to suit all budgets. Free parking is just across the road from the hotel in the Casino/Cinema car park. All in all we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again.
An old hotel which continues to feel old despite some renovation tentatives. The staff is very friendly. It's a 2 stars hotel, and as such the rating is correct.Breakfast not included, but price is OK for children. The area is not noisy.
