This was the chosen place for a quick family getaway and celebrate K's birthday. The rooms and service was excellent but the coffee shop was a let down both food and service wise. Whereas By the blue near the pool was just fantastic.

I went with my client for a business deal and I must say we enjoyed our experience with Grand Mercure, Bangalore.Ambience is nice and calm for regular travellers. Blue lights reflecting from the pool is refreshing. Quality of the food Is awesome. Staffs are generous. And a very special thanks to Mr. Gopal, He made my day. This kind of hospitality you expect from a star class hotel. Recommended for others to visit once, and don't forget to meet Mr. Gopal the magician.
This is definitely a very late review that I am posting..Due to some odds..Firstly it was the birthday of my neice which we went out to celebrate for dinner..Mr Sandeep made a wonderful arrangements for us in the alfresco area of the restaurant.. Though we found the seating arrangement a bit congested..Now that we were seated our table was attended by Guha with his 2 subordinates, a guy from Kashmir..And subhadip(if m not wrong)..Dinner went on and we had one of the fantabulous experiences..Guha being a bong was quickly our favourite..His amicable and approachable attitude was out of the world..The veterans of our family was helped by him and they blessed him a lot... Truly speaking one of the best time we had in Bangalore.. It'll be our first priority..Thanks Guha and thank u Grand Mercure :)
The worst hospitality in the World , I will rate the staff as uneducated and unethical , i an giving an example of how careless the staff is : - I am a regular guest since last 18 months and I stay at least 2 to 3 nights per month, I booked a room through their sales team member Tarun on a telephone as a regular practice . He confirmed me the room which is my regular choice and I have been paying some 8000 per room inclusive of tax, this time when I went the duty manager told they do not have the room so they will give me 2 bedroom suite instead of 1 bed room and charge me 13000 , on this I asked them why should I pay this , it is your problem and I will not stay in a big suite of 2 bed room that too alone, since I was very tired I and wanted to sleep I told them to give we will talk in the morning , this was after discussion of 35 min, when I got the keys , it was surprisingly a single bed room suite which I booked , on this when I called the duty manager I was told the person sitting on reception has allotted wrong room, the room was available and they ware just playing and manipulating , I was surprised to get a call that they will charge me 13000 for this room , as they have given me some else's room. On this I fired the manager, then some one called and said they will charge me regular prize. In the lean month of December for this hotel I have given 4.5 lacks business for 30 th and 31 st of December and this was my personal guests , looking to my business the staff should have upgraded me but it seems they are after money and Not interested to satisfy the Guest , in other hotel chains like J W Marriott , the staff is so courteous and helpful that Grand Mercure should learn from them. It was really a bad experience , I have lot of options in Bangalore in all 5 stars , but why I use to stay was that his hotel was near to my office. I sent a review to hotel on a regular survey form, but sorry to say that they are not bothered to reply . They are dependent on foreign customers, and being Indian and hotel in India they are treating the guest like this , which is very very BAD .
This was my first encounter with an Accor Group Hotel. I am generally on the Marriott/Starwoods/Ritz-Carlton hotel list always. But, this time I tried to experiment something else. The hotel is situated in the residential neighborhood of Bangalore - Koramangala - 12th Main Road. Property The ambience is nice. The welcome reception area can seem to be unorganized during busy hours of the day, but they have tried a very informal reception area. I liked it. Check-in/Check-out Experience Too many cooks spoil the food. While my check-in was quick, it was handled by 2 different people. That surprised me and at the end, I realized that my Key-cards were mixed up with that of another guest and I could not access connections in my room. I had to call this out to the duty managers attention and then it was resolved. But, again, this should not have happened. I think this was an exception, but quite a hassle for a guest who has travelled long flights and made an ardous 2.3 hours travel from the airport to this hotel. You expect no suprises and hassles of working through things with the front desk to get them resolved. Food - Restaurant/Lunch/Dinner/Breakfast I ordered for Room Service after dinner. I ordered : 3 Flavor Creme brulee - which was amazing. I also ordered : The Tiramisu, was pathetic. It was not fresh and looked and tasted stale. The layer of sponge was hard. I left a note on the dish with a sad smiley face and returned the entire Tiramisu (with the exception of the 1st spoon). I also left a note appreciating the Creme Brulee. However, I think nothing was done about it as I still ended up paying up for it. When you call for room service, you expect a certain standard, and they definately did not seem to come true on in. During Breakfast the next morning, the F&B Manager did check on me - which I appreciate. Thank you for atleast showing concern, in kind, if not about taking that bad dessert out of my bill. But, I am never going to order something from here, if I ever stay there next time, in room service. The Staff: The front office team who checked me in, did not brief me on my Room Plan, etc. I had to ask questions regularly, during the short checkin/stay about everything. The Duty Manager on the night of 6th March/7th March - was helpful in managing the check-in and room issues I faced. The F&B Manager in the Morning at the restaurant on 7th March was also empathetic about my experience with the Tiramisu. I think this hotel has GREAT STAFF, but needs improvements in Quality Control/Audit and Process. The room was good, yet compact. I was in 003 on the ground floor. I have no complaints or highlights about the room. The bed was really short for a person who is 6 feet 1 inch in height. I could feel my feet dangling outside the edge of the bed. I slept diagonally on the bed. But the sleep quality of the bed was good. Overall, I may not visit them again, but it's not that a bad setting for those who are not specific about few items, like how I am. It's a good place to experience and decide for yourself is how I would like to leave this.
I had organised a day event at the meeting room in Grand Mercure. I was very happy with the services rendered by the team right from the sales team member to the event service assistants. They understood the requirement well and delivered like true professionals. Few of the team members deserve a special mention, Dilip ,Rohit from sales, Ajit and Sajin at the banquets. Food was very tasty. It was thoughtful of Chef Vilas to get us a cake in celebration of women's day. Thank you all in making our event a successful one.
We went for buffet from office. The venue is more of a romantic touch. Food was good .There was a chef special (fish) dish tat was really great. The ambience was really nice. Hotel is in the main upper residential area of Bangalore. The service was good. The restaurant space near the main pool was very beautiful.
This was my first visit to the Grand Mercure on 12th Main in Bengaluru because the Aero show week in February meant that most of the usual hotels I use were sold out. Simply for historic reasons due to the previous location of our office, we tended to stay in central "luxury" hotels like the Taj West End, Oberoi or Leela Palace. Although I was quite happy to stay at a hotel nearer our new office location, I was unsure of what to expect as, with all due respect to the Mercure, it's not in the same "brass and marble" class as the Taj or Oberoi. However, it was actually a perfectly fine hotel. The rooms are a little older and laid out as "mini apartments" with a kitchenette and small loung/dining area. However, they are clean, functional and comfortable. The hotel will provide cars to take you around, although these are an order of magnitude more expensive than using Uber (true for all hotels). However, they come in handy when you want reliable transportation at an agreed time, especially on those early morning runs to/from the airport. In particular, I want to mention the "By the Blue" poolside restaurant - what a great little gem of a place! Excellent Indian food, so good that after long days in the office, we elected to just eat there most evenings. There is the Forum Mall and various other restaurants just 3km away for which the Koramangala area is well known but, if you are too tired after a long day to venture out, you won't be disappointed by dining in at the Blue. Simply put, given that its location shortens my commute from an hour to 35 minutes, the rooms are perfectly fine and the restaurant is excellent, I'm likely to be staying here again.
