The hotel is in the Savassi area of BH, a very nice and safe residential area, with many dining options within walking distance. The rooms are spare but very big (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room). The staff was nice and friendly, very willing to help. My only complaint is the lack of noise isolation (only single pane windows). Most of the rooms face to R. Santa Rita Durao, but the cross street R. Pernambuco seems to have traffic at all times of day. After the first night I asked for a room facing the backside, and this helped with the traffic noise. However, this side faces an elementary school with very enthusiastic kids. This is not a problem if you get up early and are out most of the day. But if you are trying to sleep in or take a nap in the afternoon, the noise could be a problem. In all fairness, I'm a light sleeper, so I'm very sensitive to this issue, if you are a heavy sleeper this could be the perfect place for you.
The room, service, feel of the place, and the included breakfast are all excellent. My one area of suggested improvement would be to provide better kitchenware. I you get a suite with a kitchen, it comes with two sets of plates and silverware, but no cookware, dish soap, kitchen towels, or anything. The pots and pans they do provide upon request are banged up and low quality. Since I had no dish soap, I left all used items soaking in the sink, and the housekeeper cleaned it all up with no complaint.
I stayed just one night. The hotel in located in a nice and safe area with many bars and restaurants. Good suites for reasonable price. only the streets were noisy. breakfast was served at the restaurant and had a good choice.
The hotel is nicely situated near the beautiful Praca da Liberdade, in a quiet neighborhood with tree lined streets. We we're upgraded to a suite on an upper level, with a balcony and a great view on the city. The interiors were modern, all rooms and facilities clean. The mini sized pool is not worth of a pool though, and the gym was a bit run down. Breakfast was not exciting, but okay. There is a great restaurant, where the breakfast is served. Free wifi worked in the rooms. The manager was very helpful and tried really hard, the other staff though lacked basic English knowledge (Asking for the gym, I was asked back "Café da manha?", which means breakfast.)
Ideal location, great views, confortable, in need of an upgrade and friendly staff. Also although it is rented as an apartment and it had a cooker a fridge and a microwave it had no other facilties to cook. We were not planning on cooking but if anybody is then this will not be possible. Good breakfast.
Rent an apartment - you have all the conveniences, it costs a little less and much more space. Located on a quiet street in Savassi, it's a perfect location to dine, near CCBB. CAfe da manha is in Santa Fe, a restaurant attached. Although the kitchen in the apt is not fit to cook, it's fine for take out. The apts have tiny verandas that instill vertigo when you step out! Plus a small pool, gym and, if you can believe it, a squash court.
Great Location amongst Savassi, apartments a little dated (but whats new for BH Hotels) but very functional, clean and roomy if there for a week or so. Breakfast fine, WIFI worked reasonably well, restaurant at night good, plainish food. Staff friendly and helpful.
Stayed three nights over a long weekend. As the title suggests, location is the main asset of this property, nice corner location, within walking distance to most things the city has to offer. The staff is also quite helpful and nice without being artificially so. I had a minor problem with the shower temperature and it was quickly checked. Breakfast is also quite good, with several cold and wam options and, on weekends, the lovely outside area is available to eat looking at life go by on the streets. The rooms are spacious, with a balcony, separate kitchen and living room. It really feels like a one-bedroom apartment rather than a hotel room. So, why only an average rating? The rooms are in urgent need of renovation. Apart form the flat screen TV in the bed area, absolutely nothing has been changed or renovated since the hotel opened in the early nineties. The closets are of low quality plywood, the Formica in the bathroom walls is cracked and some of the electric sockets don't work at all. Oh, and the TV in the sitting area is an old tube set and it is tiny! All things considered it is OK, but could be massively better if the rooms were in better shape. I did not use the gym/pool facilities, so I cannot comment on them.
Have stayed at this hotel for short business-related stays over the last five plus years. The location provides easy access to the Savassi area. Breakfast is a good buffet of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, meat, eggs, cheese bread rolls, juices and cakes. The rooms include a bedroom, living room and small kitchen - all you would need. The adjoining restuarant - Santa Fe provides a good selection for lunch or evening meal - also providing room service. I found the bed during my last stay to be hard and have noticed the price creep upwards over the years where I would call it moderately expensive. Helpful staff and good service. Would stay again.
