Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel Beijing

Great very Clesn hotel . Nice staff and very helpful.

The hotel lobby is the best part of the hotel. The rooms are small and could use some updates. The refrigerator was broken and the tables and chairs had a layer of dust on them. Definitely not what I was expecting from a 4 star hotel. For the price, it was definitely not worth it.

We did not have any problems or complaints.

We had a comfortable stay in this hotel, which is located closely to the Tiananmen Square. The hotel lobby is conveniently connected to a low-priced shopping mall and food court. The room is clean.

This is an American style hotel; we feel comfortable with its layout and amenities. However, like all the hotels we've stayed at in China, we experienced the typical problem of cigarette smells in the hallway, elevators, and from the A/C.

This Hotel is not only clean and friendly, with many employees speaking English, it is right across the street from the main train station of Beijing. The Hotel can fix you up with train tickets to any city in China. The trains in China are the world's best. It is also close to the center of the city. Subway is in the basement, along with a grocery store. One can get any where in the city with the subway. I never did take a taxi, and went many places in Beijing. Shopping, Museums, the Zoo, etc.

As a first-time visitor to China/Beijing, I found the Howard Johnson Paragon hotel okay. In terms of the very basic requirements of comfort, cleanliness and a good night's sleep, it served its purpose. However, in terms of extras like wi-fi, A/C and customer service, it simply didn't make the cut. The wi-fi was practically non-existent (the great firewall of China not-withstanding), the A/C was completely not upto snuff in the stuffy mid-September weather of Beijing (I called to request that it be stepped up, and the hotel staff sent someone up promptly to jiggle the thermostat/settings to no avail) and finally Le Concierge - he couldn't call us a taxi to save his life! After waiting over an hour for him to hail us a taxi, we finally gave up and rushed for the subway (thankfully within walking distance) with our luggage in tow to make the train to Xi'An. I enjoyed the location and the cleanliness of the room and room service was extremely prompt in responding to our calls (especially the laundry service .. kudos!). But that is as far as I recommend the hotel. I don't plan to return.

A nice hotel well worthy the $$ spent. 3C - Clean, Comfortable and Convenient!

We had a good time staying on this top floor room with a fantastic panorama of the Beijing Railway Station. Room was well appointed with more than just the basics. A lot of hotel for the money!

Very conveniently located near many historic and coming attractions in Beijing (via subway and taxi). The hotel can also schedule private tours for your party to many awesome historic locations including the Great Wall. We had and awesome time with our tour guide which they provided. The tours are also relatively inexpensive! There were food and shopping options right by the hotel as it was connected to a mall (that connects to the subway). Taxi's to and from the airport to this hotel were rather cheap. The wifi was free although the connection wasn't the greatest. Other than that, our stay ran smoothly.

Two night stay to do some siteseeing. First time to Beijing. Very convenient to the Subway! Wifi only in the Lobby, but works well and is free. Also "exchange" for money is available in the lobby. Use the consierge for "tours to Great Wall." More private and excellent value.

This place was perfect, we are not ones for staying with the rest of the tourist. And this was the place. It was very quiet and very clean. We read that a lot of places had hard beds, but this hotel had very soft beds. The room was cleaned every day and they gave us water bottles every morning. We also read that a lot of places in Beijing did not have staff that spoke English, but at the Howard Johnson Paragon, they all spoke english, well enough to help. The piano bar was very nice and there is a mall attached to the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel, but they do serve american for if requested. There is also a super market in the mall, so you can get any food you need. All in all, next time we are in beijing, we plan to stay here again.

the hotel overall is a good deal, but the tiles in my bathroom are not that clean. i can see mold.... The location is amazing good. So i'll still recommend this hotel for who is the first time to Beijing. Near starbuscks (very important!!), two different subway stations.

Front desk could not understand English. On our own to get a taxi after asking front desk, if one would stop. Requested a twin bed room. Could not provide, but did add a rollaway bed. Not fair to my son who is 41 and traveling with me at age 69. /Bathroom mold in shower, housekeeping did not clean well.

I had one very bad experience with online booking in China. Before I get this hotel, I told myself that do not take it as good hotel. When I checked in, I feel better. When I get into room, I feel save and clean. It is very connivence too. Even at midnight, I still feel safe to go out get water and food.

Great location across from train station and attached to a mall. Really great breakfest buffet. Would stay here again
