I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to spend a few days out and about in Bath. It has a great location in terms of proximity to the main sights and shopping areas. The rooms are clean with all basic facilities - I really appreciated the large fluffy bath sheets - but you probably wouldn't want to spend much time relaxing in the room. Our window opened onto a roof which had some power units ( not noisy) and looked very messy with moss, bits of wood etc. Missing a trick here - it could be made much more attractive. Some rooms have a river view available on request. Breakfast was fairly standard hotel buffet, served by very pleasant and helpful staff.
We had a dinner date voucher to use as a treat. We were the only people in the restaurant and pretty much got forgotten. -They got one of our starters wrong, so we ate individually. -The main dish was smothered in pepper and virtually inedible. No one came to ask if everything was ok during the meal - We went a whole course without getting our ordered drinks and it wasn't until we chased we got them -we said at the end when we paid for our additional drinks we werent very happy and got a 'oh sorry' and that was it. - considering the voucher was a treat this was far from the expected service from a Hilton.
Stayed 4 nights 12-15 June 2017. Excellent speedy and friendly check-in. Comfy room and bed, good wifi - loved the air con as it was quite hot (well, hot for England!!). Super breakfast choice and good service. Friendly bar service. It is next to Waitrose supermarket and within easy walking distance of the railway station (10 mins).
Very disappointed with this hotel for the price we paid. Over £200 per night the room and bathroom were small and very basic. There was complimentary tea and coffee which I would expect for the price. We had water in the room on the second night but not the first. Dirty glasses not cleared away which may have been an oversight. Breakfast was ok but had to ask for things to be replenished. Had a problem getting the safe open. Hotel location was great, bed was comfortable, staff were ok. Have stayed in better places in Bath for less money. Overall poor value for money.
I stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and teenage daughter. Right from the beginning we were welcomed and treated very well. The front desk were amazing and the concierge was very helpful. Our room was very nice and clean and we had a beautiful view of the river. The breakfast was very good and the service was great. One of the front desk staff. I believe his last name was Phillip was great, very friendly and super helpful. I would stay here the next time I am in Bath.
I stayed here in May the location was amazing and breakfast was lovely but the Hotel was grubby with broken and chipped furniture. I had to sleep on a pull out chair when we paid for twin rooms. There was lots of confusion when checking in and staff didn't know what they were offering us, we were asked to swap rooms for a family room and ended up with pull out chairs. Disgraceful for a four star hotel!!!!
Booked this for our daughter and partner a while ago. It was a pre birthday break and a rest from busy family life (4 children including 3 teens!). When making the booking I said that our daughter was Coeliac and would need a gluten free dinner. No problem I was told. I even emailed to make sure this was ok. This turned out to be not the case at all. It was not possible to have a gluten free meal and they had to leave the hotel and find a restaurant that evening. Thankfully Bath is our local city and, like most cities, has many venues catering well for gluten allergy. And they found an alternative venue. So why not a four star hotel like the Hilton!! One in a hundred people have Coeliac disease. And it is a pain!! This is simply not good enough. Surely this has to improve!
My friend and I spent a couple of nights at this hotel. It's modern, stylish and furnished to a high standard in the rooms, bar and restaurant (but not the corridors on the upper floors). There only seem to be two lifts and long connecting corridors but somehow it kind of works. The receptionists are polite, friendly and business-like - but not consistent about the information they give out. The checking in experience seems to be "bespoke" for want of a better word. That being said, this was a world away from my usual choice of staying in a hostel or a B&B. I really enjoyed it. Breakfast is not included but you get a discount for "ordering" it in advance at reception instead of just turning to be fed in the morning. The range and quality of food on offer at breakfast is good but not super-special. There's a cooked and continental breakfast fare, lots of fresh fruit and pastries. However, I'm not exactly a fan of tea made with hot water rather than boiling water or orange juice that gives every appearance of being freshly squeezed with lots of pulp but which tastes like squash. The location is great. Even though parking isn't free, you can park for a flat rate fee at the car park which is next door. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room which I appreciated. The bed was firm and comfortable. The twin room was a good size. It was clean and tidy. Everything worked as it should. I've read a number of "poor" and "terrible" reviews but thankfully, I had a very pleasant experience in comparison. I wonder if I've been too generous with my comments?! Especially since at heart, I'm a backpacker ... !!
Twin room at front of building, small but clean. Unable to sleep, noisy bar opposite hotel, can hear everything from the street and what the people in the next room are doing! Doors banging and people smoking and shouting to each other in the corridor late at night. Explained this to receptionist, no sympathy, just said lady in nearby room didn't have any issues. We were made to feel that it was our fault we couldn't sleep all night. A birthday weekend ruined.
