Grandom Suites

I recently stayed here with my husband and toddler son. Our suite had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen (including a washing machine), 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a dining area. It was located in a great location - there is even a playground directly across the street! It is also within walking distance to many sights and great restaurants. The management was kind enough to provide a crib, high chair, dishes, and toys for our son. There is a small elevator, as well. We loved our visit to Barcelona and this hotel was a great value.

Our passports and money were stolen while our family of 4 were having lunch at La Rambla street on Christmas Eve. Not able to speak Spanish at all, we could not reach out to travel agency, airline, embassy, etc. The receptionists were a BIG help and stepped in as translators/guides. When we had to stay in Barcelona longer to wait for our temporary passports, they quickly extended our stay. With the help from the receptionists, we were able to resolve this setback quickly. Travelling with young kids is stressful. My daughter forgot her favorite blanket in a hotel at Seville. It is a blanket that has been with her since pre-school, so she was quite upset. The receptionists stepped and saved the day. They contacted the hotel at Seville and had it shipped to the hotel. We are pleased with the services that the apartment/hotel provided, and are looking forward to going back soon.

We stayed for a couple nights and overall was a nice choice. The entry next to a car park was a bit weird but the rooms were well kept, the kitchenette was clean and we liked the quiet neighborhood. We also stayed a more touristy hotel near the Rambla which was loud and not as nice comparatively. The only downside was there was no hot water on the second day— not sure if that was an anomaly or an issue they need to resolve. All in all, a good pick for a family and the location is good if you want to be away from all the tourists in the Rambla.

Very disappointed when we arrived here and was shown to our room. There were 4 of us so we had 2 bedroom apartment on 4th floor with great views. Main bedroom good size with huge king size bed. 2nd bedroom tiny with double bed shoved to one side and an air conditioner taking up any spare space with the hose shoved out open window for ventilation and a plastic sleeve around window to seal. No room in bedrooms for luggage. Internal door wouldn’t close, holes in walls that had been roughly patched but not painted. Snack bar/cafe they advertise is just a bench with coffee machine and a few snacks which is packed up when reception closes at 7pm. Only positive was the girl on front desk lovely and very helpful. Was not worth the money we paid and would not recommend to anyone.

Stayed at grandom for 4 nights with 2 kids. We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen and a large living room dining area . Plenty of room for kids. The grandson is located off carrer d'arago and convenient to las ramblas, plenty of restaurants and cafes. It's a great option to get away from main tourist area and feel like you are more in a local neighborhood.

We were a couple with a baby, and found the apartment suited for our needs - relatively spacious, everything one would need in a kitchen (except salt, perhaps :)), an elevator just big enough to fit all of us with a stroller. The service was good and we even got a baby bath (though making use of it was a bit tight) and a baby-crib. We either walked or took buses, as there are many nearby stops. and city center is 10-15 minutes by foot. There's a proper supermarket across the square. A couple of notes: 1. The Aerobus from the airport has a reasonably close stop (Universitat), but in order to take it back to the airport, we walked 15 minutes to Placa Catalunya (no stop at Universitat in that direction). 2. They did very kindly provide a baby-crib, however, it was somewhat too large for a 2-month baby. Also, placing it right near the bed is not realistic given its size. 3. The walls are kinda thin, so you can sometimes hear loud chatter from other apartments or doors slam.

Not really a 4 star standard as advertised, we were disappointed by some aspects though happy enough with others. First the good - the view from our room was incredible, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was well equipped and the free snack room and library were well received. However, the negatives are: Horrendously uncomfortable beds, only made slightly bearable by requesting many extra duvets to sleep on. Poor sized 2nd bedroom with small double bed for two teenagers to share, forcing us to use the uncomfortable bed settee with a stained mattress. No air conditioning in 2nd bedroom, just a noisy air con unit with a hose out of the window. No soap provided and only 1 toilet roll which was tricky when it got wet and we were left with none. All in all it was a well located hotel, we felt safe and fairly comfortable and it was quiet at night. Whilst I would not recommend this hotel for a family, I am sure it would be fine for a couple, just take your own soap and a mattress topper!

Excellent attention from the greeter/concierge! We arrived in Barcelona before our check-in time and didn't want to waste any time for sight seeing. We were greeted at the door and were able to fill out all the needed paperwork and given a key. They stored and then moved our luggage into our units so we could hit the streets! We returned to clean and quiet rooms, one with a balcony for a quiet after dinner drink :)

We found this place really good. Quite big apartment style accomodation. Had everything you need when travelling for an extended time. Good location with food on your doorstep and a nice little park across the road. We would stay here again 😊

We stayed in the first floor suite with some friends for five nights, and had a very pleasant experience. The main bedroom was with an ensuite, but the second bedroom was extremely small and hot and we had to use the sofa bed in the lounge, due to the excessive heat. That aside, the staff (Sandra & team) were more than helpful in directing us to local cafes, of which there are many. There is also a supermarket across the square, which is very convenient. Easy access to the city centre, and plentiful taxis for the weary return journey. Shame on the airport taxi that overcharged us on the way in. FYI the fare should be 40+ Euros.
