Hotel is advertised as four stars is very deceiving. I rate this a three star hotel. Not sure why rooms are considers suites, the balconies? Rooms are dated. No music or activites poolside. Nothing to do on property after evening show or entertainment. Hotel is ideal for a short stay. Staff was pleasant, birds in eating area annoying. Pesky little bugs in room. Would not return to this hotel when I travel back to Barbados. Sister hotel was nice.

Turtle Beach is a very nice hotel. Great location. Staff very friendly.

We loved staying at this hotel, the room was the best & so was the food - fantastic.

Excellent hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is great!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. I find that the buffet was limited however you were able to put special request in according to your diet and they would fulfil your request. I felt secure, security was great.

13 family members ranging from 10 months to 85 years old just went to Turtle Beach for a 5 day getaway. The location was very convenient to the airport and Bridgetown and the beach was fabulous. Nice facility, pleasant staff. The food was variable - breakfast and lunch were excellent with lots of choices. Dinners ran the gambit from exceptional to marginal. Those who went to Asiagios were very disappointed. Drinks were readily available and there was something for everyone. Overall, the experience was great and we would go again.

I was looking for an all-inclusive in the caribbean for a week long getaway. I came across Turtle Beach and took a leap of faith. I was not disappointed. The beach was perfect - white sand and clean. I was there one evening when a nest of sea turtles hatched and got to see their march to the ocean. The ocean does tend to get rough on this end of the island, so if you are looking for smooth water every day you will be disappointed. The hotel itself, while older, is well maintained. The room was furnished tastefully and was equipped with all the amenities I desired. The rooms are not overly large. I had a room overlooking one of the pools, but I also had a great view of the ocean. Most of the rooms have at least some ocean view. The staff at this resort was outstanding. I did not find one individual who didn't at least say good morning. Most asked how my stay had been so far and if there was anything I needed. The food was on the whole very good. The breakfast buffet was a kind of boring as the item selection was essentially the same everyday. Lunches were great with a good variety - each day was just different enough to make it interesting. Dinners were a la cart at two of the three restaurants each evening. I can say that I had outstanding meals each evening. If you are looking for giant "American sized" portions you will be disappointed. I left the restaurants each evening full but not stuffed. The resort is situated next to an area that offers bars, shopping, and other food establishments. I did not venture off the property during my stay but I would on my next trip. A couple of negatives: 1. The showers have an awkward glass enclosure that did not fail to get the floor wet in the bathroom. 2. My TV stopped working one evening. The maintenance staff was right on the problem and the TV was replaced quickly. 3. The birds flying around when you are trying eat breakfast of lunch can get annoying. I'm sure the staff is used to them but I certainly was not. The most aggravating part of the trip was the 1 1/2 hour wait to get through immigration when arriving. For the kind of vacation I was looking for, this was almost perfect. I wanted a place with no hassles, no pressures, and no problems. I wanted to not have to worry about what to do with my day. I wanted peace and relaxation. At Turtle Beach I got what I wanted.

Overall it was a good experience, the beach is wonderful and there is plenty of things to do in the nearby Bridgetown.

Beach was fine, rough surf but fine if you are use to swimming in ocean. Breakfast, standard buffet, all well presented and cooked. Lunch, buffet, had good variety of food. Dinner was also fine. One bedroom suite well worth the money, with garden view. Oceanfront suite way too small. Amenities varied and easily available to all. Make a point of going over to Crystal Cove if you are a couple-need to book at activities center. Only good for teenagers for 3 or so days.

Nice hotel, staff was very friendly. Food was good to great depending which restaurant you are dining at. Big negative for this resort is that the ocean is way too rough. Red flags on the beach every day we were there (which means don't go in the ocean and if you do you go in at your own risk). As a result there were no watersports available, nice that they were included, not nice that you can't use it. The beach is very windy also so alot of sand flying around stinging your skin. Most people stayed by the pools. Plus was that you can go up to Crystal Cove and use all of their amenities (eat, drink, watersports) at no additional charge (other than paying for a cab to get there). Did that for 2 out of our 4 days and really enjoyed it. Wish we had stayed there instead. Bottom line, don't stay at Turtle Beach or any other resort on the southern side of the island as the water is to rough, unless you don't care to get in the water anyways. Definitely recommend Crystal Cove and the other resorts on the Western side of the island.

People could not be friendlier, food was great, beach was wonderful. Only issue was that the ocean was too rough for swimming on a couple of days. Good thing there were a number of pools!

Stayed at Turtle Beach May 10th-17th 2013 for our Honeymoon. We had an amazing time! The hotel staff were excellent, food was delicious! We loved the beach, but it was unfortunate that the waters were too rough for swimming the last 3 days. This resort is very child/baby friendly, and it was nice to see the accomodations for familes with young children and their infants. A couple of comments for interested travellers, the eating areas are all open, therefore birds do come into that area and eat off the plates and tables when someone leaves their seat, and unfortunately, they often leave droppings on the chairs, so just be mindful of this. Look before you sit, and make sure that if you do leave food or drinks unattended if you do not intend to continue eating/drinking what you have left. The bird issue seemed to be more of a problem to some people more than others, the staff were quite vigilant with clearing the tables as quickly as they could and cleaning soiled chairs. Also, if you are the type that likes a lot of night life or daily activities, without leaving the resort, this place is not for you. Night entertainment ends around 10pm, and there are not too many activities during the day (for example dance classes or exercise in the pool). Would have liked a place on the resort to dance after dinner. Recommendation to take a tour..."The Best of Barbados" tour with "Glory Tours" was amazing; snorkelling with the turtles was breath taking! We also took public transportation to another "Elegant hotel" one of the sister hotels of Turtle beach, called Crystal Cove. The bus ride was about 30mins, and it was nice to swim in a calmer ocean on the West coast of the island, however, we were not relaxed on the beach as we were bombarded by vendors trying to sell products and activities constantly. This was our first stay at Turtle Beach and in Barbados and we will definitely be returning in the future!!

The beach at the Turtle Beach Resort is the nicest and widest on the island but be prepared for strong waves. There are a lot of beach toys for guests to enjoy. You can't walk the beach very far here, as it ends both ways pretty quickly. It is a well-known fact that the Bajans are the friendliest in the Caribbean and this resort shows the truth in that. From the housekeeping ladies to the beach staff, we enjoyed interaction with all of them. The entertainment in the evenings was fun and laid-back and some nights allowed for the kids to participate - a nice treat. The restaurant options were limited and there are times (like between breakfast and lunch) when there is no food available at all - not commonplace for an all-inclusive. The pool area is calm and there was no need to reserve your loungers before dawn as that didn't seem to be important here - loungers were always available when you wanted them, where you wanted them.

We had a lovely stay. The staff did a great job - always asking if we needed anything. They were so polite and helpful. The hotel was in a great location and the grounds were just beautiful. We stayed at the beach everyday & had a wonderful, relaxing vacation.

nice small place with friendly staff. No air conditioning at the restaurants which means you are sweating while eating. Buffet is ok- the restaurants serve very small portions and staff looks at you with a strange look if you order more than one appertizer. Not very happy with dinner at all. Nightly entertainment is limited-you cannot use the pool after 7pm . My family went to bed by 10pm! No night life unless you want to walk the neighborhood.

food- had worse-Asiago's was very good but closed on Sunday. Reservations had to be made every morning a bit of a pain but we always were able to eat where we wanted but not at the time Room- not bad but, no beverages in room, a/c was terrible, shower had a half glass door half the water went on the floor, amenities not stocked. Clean and great view from ocean front room Beach- beach butlers were awesome always found a chair for you and the friendliest people at the resort. Water was a bit rough but fun if you like waves beach front gets smaller as the tide comes up but not a problem. Pool- strange, stairs were limited water was a bit dirty but not too bad. no pool bar really sucked

The staff was wonderful and the food was delicious. The view from our room of the beach was beautiful.

Without doubt, my recent stay at this fabulous hotel with my son (16) and daughter (19) for 10 days fullfilled and indeed exceeded all of my expectations. We stayed in an Ocean front room, with the best view EVER ! Whilst there we took full advantage of all complimentary water sports. The hotel staff were, without exception, very courteous and always had a smile. The food in all restaurants was first class. If you want to be miserable, don't go ! if want to have the best time of your life, BOOK NOW,

My wife and I had absolutely great time at turtle beach. The entire staff at the resort were just great and extremely helpful. The beach was gorgeous, but the ocean waves and currents made it risky a few days during our stay to take a dip in the ocean water, but luckily they were two decent size pools that can be used as an alternative. Meals served during breakfast, lunch and dinner were all pretty good. The downside of our stay was the wifi/hi-speed internet wasn't included in the all-inclusive. The wifi/hi-speed internet was extremely slow, and cost us $100 US for 7 days. I don't think it was worth it. The resort itself have an internet cafe that patrons can use as an alternative. Overall our stay was a 4 out of 5. The room and resort were extremely clean, the hotel's decor was superb, and it was in walking distance of St. Lawrence gap if you're into the night life. This was the second time my wife and I have visited Barbados, and this resort will definitely see us again if we come back to the island.
