Bar Harbor Oceanfront Log Cabin 10 min to Acadia National Park

Our modern log cabin has stunning views of Frenchmen Bay in a very private, serene location. With 3 bedrooms (2 king bedrooms and one large loft with queen and twin size beds) /2 baths it is the perfect spot for a family or two to enjoy together. The main level has a bedroom and bathroom so those with mobility issues will be able to navigate the house after ascending 3 small steps up the front porch. Whether you enjoy sitting on the back deck, by the fire pit, or walking on the shoreline, there are many places to spread out and relax.

Located down a long, private, tree lined road that is directly on the ocean it is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. In the morning it is nice to sip a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the local lobsterman harvest his catch out in the bay. You might see one of the eagles or osprey swoop down to catch a fish or even a seal pop their head up from time to time. Deer may be seen grazing around the woods and marmot are seen at times.

The shoreline is a great spot as well for children to explore the tide pools and hunt for sea glass at low tide. Feel free to launch kayaks and paddleboards from the beach. You can bring your own or they can be rented on the island. We own the only other house on the street (more than 400 ft uphill from the cabin) that shares the beach access.

Just 10 mins from Acadia, 15 min from downtown Bar Harbor, and 10 minutes to the quiet side of the island, it is a quick trip to most places on the island. There are many quaint lobster pounds and restaurants within a five minute drive of the house including the top ranked lobster pound, The Travelin Lobster. Local favorites also include Sweet Peas and Mainly Meats. All have great outdoor dining.

Like lobster? We have all you need to cook up a great lobster dinner at the house.

The log cabin has been a loved vacation spot by families for 25 years. We bought the cabin in November 2021 and renovated both bathrooms as well as completely re-decorated the whole house. We also own Bar Harbor Cedar Chalet just up the hill from this house.

We rent Saturday to Saturday from June- October 10. Otherwise we have a 4 night minimum due to Bar Harbor’s town regulations for vacation rental houses.

We have a firm no pet policy so all guests will be comfortable in the house. No parties or smoking as well.

We have beds for 7 but would permit one additional guest to sleep on an air mattress or in a pack n play.

We have an outdoor camera by the front door that looks at the driveway.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

The house could not possibly be more perfect.First, the location: The property is situated only 10 to 15 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, so fine dining and shopping are a quick car ride away. But the cabin itself is secluded and quiet, located in a breathtakingly beautiful setting with gorgeous sunsets. It’s great to be able to enjoy the amenities of the town, but still be able to escape the crowds to such a lovely setting. Outstanding hiking is also available minutes away in Acadia National Park. The cabin itself is comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen has everything that a chef could want for dinners at home. The living room is cosy and comes with a fireplace. Overlooking the water, the deck has Adirondack chairs, a dining table and a top of the line grill. Everything is meticulously clean, with plentiful linens and paper products provided. Finally, communication with the owner was outstanding. She was readily available during the stay and checked in several times to make sure everything was going smoothly. We had absolutely no issues during our visit. In summary, I cannot imagine a better place to stay in this area. We have already booked for next year.

Stayed on the island for 4 nights and LOVED the location of this cabin. It was perfect for the 7 of us. Super private and quiet. Well stocked kitchen. Very easy to get to everything. Host was amazing. The kids loved exploring the tide pools at low tide. (Recommend bringing some boots) Beautiful views. Will rent again next time we are in the area.

Acadia Getaway

I recently stayed at this property and it exceeded all of my expectations! This home was spotless, well-equipped, and had all the comforts needed for a relaxing getaway. The location was perfect-close to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and private. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, with incredible views and a comfortable seating area on the deck as well as around a fire pit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay. We will be back!

A Wonderful week at the Cabin.

Jamie was a very good communicator. She provided us with everything we needed to know about the cabin, their favorite local restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do around the area. The cabin was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. The Internet worked very well. It was so peaceful there we didn’t want to leave. Seeing the deer walk through in the evening was something we enjoyed. We look forward to returning.

Spectacular oceanview and sunsets

Our multigenerational group had a terrific two-week stay in this clean, well kept and appointed, and rustic (yet modern) cabin with amazing oceanfront views. The check-in/out processes were seamless, and Jamie was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout the process. We appreciated the thoughtful welcome gift and helpful suggestions. The cabin is conveniently located and was only a 15-25 minute drive to most trailheads and activities. Additionally, it was very close to our favorite eateries, including Sweet Peas and the Travelin Lobster. Our group appreciated the plentiful indoor and outdoor common spaces, including a large deck and firepit area. We felt that we were truly immersed in nature, with only the sister cabin in view in the back at a distance. We look forward to returning next summer!

Amazing waterfront Log Cabin stay

The waterfront location of the log cabin is unbelievable. Our group of 7 loved watching the tide roll in and out from the living room, kitchen and huge porch. The cabin is very comfortable and close to all of the activities and fantastic restaurants in Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor as well as the amazing hiking in Acadia. Just perfect for our group with diverse interests. The drive down to the cabin is a steep hill which had me nervous at first but it was easily managed by our standard rental car even on a rainy day. Jamie is an amazing host! Thanks for a great stay!

Private Arcadia Waterside Retreat

We had a wonderful time here in this private forest-meets-the-sea retreat. The house and furnishings are comfortable (nice couch) and the view is spectacular of woods, water, sunrise/sunset. Lovely flowering plants. There is a large deck and outdoor oven/grill, The kitchen is well appointed and supplied with everything you will need to cook, if you so choose. There are also some first day supplies to get you started. There are well chosen books and games for all ages and the basic equipment even for little ones. The Owners Book is thorough and the recommendations for dining, etc. are expert; some are a mile or two away. The pictures on VRBO are accurate. The amount of tide change is probably a couple of feet. It’s very private in the woods, yet on the water. We saw a parent eagle and fledgling, loon, deer with rack. Very quiet. Ten minutes from entrance to park. We would love to return. Owner is very responsive.

Cabin on the water, very private and only 15 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to Acadia National Park . The cabin had a large assortment of board games and barbies my 9 year old enjoyed . Acadia with Young Kiddos

Our kids (3&5) loved sleeping in the loft together & in separate beds. We were able to walk the shoreline and see mussels and hermit crabs. The primary bedroom heat thermostat was a little tricky, but with a phone call, we were able to figure out you need to point the remote directly at the unit for it to register. Thankful for the collection of magnatiles and Barbie’s (new toys to occupy early mornings). Borrowed the small cooler for our daily outings to Acadia National Park. Wished we would have brought our child carrier for our 3-yr old. Some of the hikes were just too much for him. Comfy beds, plenty of pillows, basic seasonings, loved having access to a washer/dryer. I’m not a coffee drinker, but those who are: Coffee in the photo is not provided for stay. However there is a nice collection of Tea to enjoy! Only suggestion is to add area rugs to places where there are large gaps in the wood floors or fill with wood filler.

Our Maine Adventure

Our stay at the Log Cabin was fabulous! The place was clean, well maintained, fully stocked, and the owner was more than helpful and made herself available checking in with us as we arrived, halfway through our stay, and again before we left making sure we had a great time. The location was perfect! The beach area was great for the kids to explore and for the adults to unwind after a day of hiking. The fire pit area had a beautiful setting and the sunsets were simply amazing! It was close to all things Acadia and Bar Harbor. Our family made some lasting memories on this vacation! We were all sad to leave. We would love to come back again someday and would highly recommend this place to anyone vacationing in this area. Jamie, thank you so much !!
