The Connex Asoke3.0 out of 5.0

The property is exposed to the afternoon’s sun and the air condition / ventilation doesn’t seem to be well designed . My room at 502 was warm, with aircon set at 16-17 all the time but it still felt warm and humid (even for someone like me who doesn’t usually sleep with air condition on) . Likewise for my friends who stayed in level 4 and 3 too. Corridor of the hotel also has no ventilation . Upon checking in, I found the hotel already had switched on the aircon in my room (all set at 16 degrees) - hence I believe it’s something that the hotel is aware and hope to see if they can do something about the ventilation and air-condition of the rooms and property as a whole. Else it is a pity since the hotel is in a good location close to asoke BTS which provides much convenience to shopping and food options.
we had just overnight stay, checked it late at around 2100hrs and checked out 0915 next morning. But check in was smooth, location superb, cozy rooms, nice beds, good interiors. In house restaurant was small, staff friendly. Overall good place to be..
If you are looking for a small relatively inexpensive, no frills hotel in downtown Bangkok, this is the place. The room was clean and well appointed. It was roomy and had a king size bed. (I'm 6feet 2", thats important)It is close to the Terminal 21 Shopping Mall and the nexus of transportation options that surround the mall. For those looking for a Bangkok party night, it is only two blocks away from the famous (infamous?) Soi Cowboy street. My only issue with staying there is that the mattress was extremely firm and the extremely loud road noise from in front of the hotel. I know, big city, big noise. However, I was looking outside the window and noticed that the windows are single pane with absolutely no insulating barrier. Therefore, more noise is allowed in. The lobby bar/restaurant is pretty basic and the breakfast was ok at best. The night time grill in the courtyard was, in contrast, very good. I definitely recommend sitting outside and taking in a cold beer and a light dinner before moving on for the evening. If you are looking for an ultra modern super slick 5* hotel, keep looking. However, if you are looking for a clean, affordable, roomy hotel in the heart of Bangkok, this is it. Not to forget, the staff was friendly and helpful. Wrestling a large suitcase, golf bag and a carry on into the typical Thai sized elevator requires a Teris master... Again, the staff was awesome with that.
I don't like being lied to or misled. I enquired, in person, about having a 40 person event. I was told that I would receive an email quote, menus, and photos. I received nothing. I then emailed a follow up.... No reply. I call K Ying and she said she will email me by next day....no email. I called again and I was told email quote would be sent in 10 min.... Again no email. Thank you for wasting my time.
This hotel is not what it pretends to be: no bed light for reading, the TV is not cable as advertised, only locsl channels. No English... The room had noise both from the road and from the hallway when it was raining, because the staircase is only covered by a perspex roof, ie, not built!! But worst of all, last night when it was pouring rain, the ceiling began to drip, quite soon creating a large puddle. It was obvious that thisis a reccurring problem and the staff confirmed it. The staff, though quite embarassed, were very kind and helpful. FIND ANOTHER PLACE!
I booked a suite for 2 nights in order t have biger space through their fb promotion. The suite is spacious and it would be better they more hangers provided (only 4 hangers in a big wardrobe...) The window is broken in the toilet so I inform the staff accordingly. However, they said they would charge me 1000 THB to fix it without investigation... Even though they finally do not charge me and apologize, they should further check with other department such as housekeeping first. It creates a bad image of the hotel to the guest. Hope the CS team can review and improve their quality standard.
Well appointed room in literally the center of Sukhumvit. Staff are friendly and speak very good english. Food from the restaurant is handy but not great with reasonable prices. Traffic noise can be an issue for light sleepers but that is an inherent risk with such a central location (easily fixed by ear plugs provided by hotel).
Location is brilliant - bang next to BTS. The staff are super friendly. The room was a little dark and the view from the window overlooked a wall. The Tv had about 8 channels all in Thai. The bed was hard but the linen was clean and of reasonable quality. The corridor was noisy and kids could be heard banging doors. The price ok. It’s ok, but don’t be fooled by the glossy exterior. It’s a little crammed, painted over old building with new tiles and bathrooms.
Location is extremely near to Asoke BTS, less than 5-8mins walk away. Clean and functional room with good size. Toilets are clean and generally big as well. Room can be rather noisy if along the road but generally great value for money.
I usually stay here during my short business travels as its close to my BKK office in the Citibank Tower and very central in Sukhumvit, but started booking it soon for holidays as well. Very new property and well trained staff, allowed us to check in a bit early when requested, great breakfast options, got a room with a 2 side glass windows with a great city view. We even asked for a bottles of water late at night once and the staff was always polite. Walking distance from the BTS as well. Definitely recommend this place to my other colleagues now, and will come back to stay!
