nice ,cheap hotel 400 meters from nana station down dead end soi very quiet location hotel supplies a tuk tuk to take you to Nana station if you dont want to walk.Friendly staff,no traffic noise good value for money
room ok but customer attention not so good as before, even you are an old client. missing some attention for old customers as I get before... missing of warm welcome. I ask to repair some broken part in the bathroom, and I have founded the same part on fridge the day after.... Bizarre !
I stayed here for a couple of nights . Staff were quite friendly especially bell boys. The room was average size although paid extra for a larger room. The main issue with the hotel is it is really noisy internally. The walls seem to be paper thin and I heard loud noise from many rooms above and next to me. I complained once as the noise from one room above me somewhere was shouting ,singing squawking and other strange noises. Doors constantly being slammed and chairs dragged across floors and people coming in at all hours meaning you wake up to people talking loudly or arguing . The other terrible thing is the smell of smoke in the rooms . I had asked for a non smoking room but on second night the smell of smoke was overwhelming. It seemed to be coming through the AC as far as I could gather. Also be aware there is an extensive damages charge list in the room which covers everything (and i mean everything). TV damage is 28,000 baht. I would be very careful to make sure all is in order and avoid smoking rooms.
Stayed here twice in Feb and March 2018. Super quiet location near many of the shops and close to the sky train. Lovely helpful staff, large clean room with big bathroom. Ample breakfast with both western and asian food.
Hotel has very good surroundings & very good breakfast service! Room was very cosy, neat & clean. Hotel Staff especially receptionist Ms Nicky is very friendly & has been very cooperative to all our queries. We wish to stay here again in our next trip & strongly recommend to people who wants value for their money, calm surroundings in middle of Bangkok & local assistance!
Staff at front office [Subadra] is completely unfriendly to Asian guests [Where u are from doesn't matter]. does not greet anyone. Looks very irritatated when approached for help. Does not speak much English. Caucasians are treated better. One day during breakfast, one of their chair frames was interlocked with another. When my husband sat down, the frame of the chair broke. Subadra did not want to listen to explanations or even review footage on CCTV. We had to pay $1000 baht for the broken chair. Rooms are tiny. Drainage smell at lobby. Smack in the middle of a red light district.
I had never stayed here before so was delighted with the welcome. And the room was delightful. Clean hotel and close to some shopping and restaurants. We will stay here again my wife loved the use of a bath as well as a shower. I will definitely stay here in March 2018.
This is our second stay at Salil. As others have said, it's location is a real plus. One street away from the main drag thus close to public transportation, yet the lane has several good restaurants and a safe and trendy feel to it. Niki at the front desk was extremely helpful and willing to research info if needed. Secured an early morning taxi to the airport at the going rate. The breakfast was exceptional! Kudos to the Thai woman who does the cooking and fusses over preparation and presentation. It is a boutique hotel which is kept clean although could use some new rugs and paint job. It provides a comfortable stay and will remain our home base when in Bangkok. Would recommend the Italian restaurant down the street, Via Vai. Found it to be excellent and reasonably priced for quality homemade pasta.
My stay was please over Christmas A receptionist named Nicky was a stand out among a good staff She was very helpful and cheerful during my stay The hotel is in a quite part of Soi 8 The breakfast needs improvement but my requests were requests were responded to quickly. The room was small but clean and had good amenities
The Salil Hotel in Soi 8 is a small, quaint hotel off the main roads in the busy Sukhumvit district. I stayed there for a week at the end of November and found it to be convenient and comfortable. Walking distance from the Thong Lo BTS (Sky Train)Station access to everywhere was easy. The Breakfast Buffet was small but comprehensive with a good variety of options. The rooms are small but comfortable and the aircon worked well - very necessary even in November! The area is quiet but not far from the business district. I found the service good and the rates reasonable.
