I stayed here in June 2018 for three nights and paid by credit card. The room was nice and though there was a problem with the shower it was repaired quickly. Upon returning to the UK I checked my credit card bill to discover that I had been charged 3 times for my stay. I contacted the hotel and they denied that they had overcharged me so I contacted my bank to receive the transaction numbers and mailed these to the hotel along with a copy of my bank statement and still they denied overcharging me. So I have had to raise a challenge to the bill through my bank and am awaiting the outcome. My recommendation is that if you stay here pay with cash as it seems the hotel (or the receptionist) is operating a credit card scam.
We love staying in the Sukhumvit area when in Bangkok and our latest stay has been the best. The Salil Hotel Sukhumvit Soi 8 has a very good location, very close to Nana BTS, with a free shuttle service to the station. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the WiFi is very good and the breakfast choices is certainly adequate. For the price, this is one of the better choices for accommodation in this part of Bangkok. We will be staying there again in three weeks.
Nicely located away from the hustle and bustle near the end of Soi 8 where you can even hear the birds sing.A safe, clean and comfortable small hotel with well kept rooms that are made up everyday if you wish. The bed was comfortable and the room had a decent bathroom with shower. The safe is also useful. For me the tv stations could be better with more news channels such as BBC or CNN but that's just a personal thing. When I had a couple of minor issues they were dealt with immediately. The staff are friendly with Ning (Nicky) on reception always efficient and helpful and enjoys talking with the guests.A free shuttle will take you down to the end of the Soi near Nana Skytrain Station if it's too hot or you're too lazy to walk.I will stay here again.
My second time staying at this hotel and will certainly come back for the third. The hotel is clean and quiet and located not far Nana BTS. The staff by the name of NICKY was helpful. However, I would like the management to look into the air-cont and the water.
Hidden at the end of a quiet street in city centre of Bangkok. This will be a very suitable place to stay if you wished for a peaceful night sleep after long day of walking and sightseeing. Away from the noises of the moving vehicle and pub music. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable to stay. Each time passing through the counter was greeted warmly by the receptionist. Just at the entrance of the street you can get wide variety of Bangkok street food every morning and night, with few night bars and pubs as well as few massage shops. There were total of 3 convenient stores available within walking distance. The nearest station is Nana Station and from there you can get anyway you want. The hotel also provide free shuttle to somewhere nearby the train station. The only drawback was that you need to walk back to the hotel on your return to hotel which will take around 10mins walking distance. But in overall I'm very happy to have stayed at this hotel. Thank you.
Lovely hotel in a great location near Nana Sky Train station with easy access around town. Very spacious rooms with everything you need for a nice stay. Big comfortable bed, big bathroom with bath plus hairdryer, iron, microwave, kettle and safe. Staff very friendly and able to help arrange trips or advise on where to go if your not familiar with Bangkok. Highly recommend, extended by one night and would definitely stay here again.
Stayed two nights, hotel is down the soi, a few minutes walk from Nana Bts station. Room was clean, breakfast had both choices of Thai and international food (Thai food very tasty). Fresh eggs station. Room was quite, overlooking a garden. I have never used the service provided to get to the main Street, since I prefer walking. Nearby there are shops, a shopping center, 711. A bit narrow the space between the 2 single beds and water flow down the wash basin was very slow (shower too). Easy to reach from the airport using public transport.
I stayed here for 4 days with my husband. The hotel is situated at the end of Soi 8. Around 1km from nearest metro station. However they do provide a free pickup and drop to the main street. Rooms are small but good enough for 2 people. Buffet Breakfast is good but the same options every single day. They do provide early check-in on request and a small fee. It's situated at a decent location with no traffic noise, less crowded street, good restaurants and good connectivity to the public transport. Overall a good experience for a reasonable price.
Unexpectedly bad experience with my 3-day package deal. Though location is ok (due to the small electric golf-car that carries guests to BTS Nana) if you do not get mistaken by other close by hotel with the same name.. on arrival I was badly surprised by the broken phone in the bedroom and the infiltration stained tiles in the bathroom. Having been promised that the phone would be fixed in the morning, the following night the phone had still not yet been fixed. The worst however was yet to come.. Second night the AC was broken and among a great deal of shouting, I was finally given another bedroom with a working AC, this was after 1am.. (no apology was offered by the terrible night receptionist, who thought that calling me Dr. and giving me after 30mins another room with a working AC which they called an upgrade, would excuse his appalling shouting rudeness). It did not end there.. As part of the 3 day package, a 500 Bhatt rebate was offered on food at their restaurant, but.. when I was about to used I found out that the restaurant was closed (though the sign on the door of the restaurant saying 'open from 3pm to 9..pm' was still hanging there when I left). The guilt treatment from the manager is hard to describe.. "I could give you 500Bt back but you need to understand that would be from my own pocket etc etc". The words kept being said in replay mode. Still trying to make the situation a little less painful, I suggested that if they allowed me to stay in the room for 2 additional hours (the time to go to the airport), I would not claim the 500Btt back. This was promptly accepted and I took my bags and key to a room in a lower floor - only to discover the AC was also not working! I went down immediately, claimed the 500Btt and went for a beer to make time for my cab, wishing I just had chosen any of the other hotels on that street..
