The view from our room (toward Wat Arun) was amazing! Great pad Thai for breakfast (along with Western options) and very conveniently located for Wat Pho (across the street and don’t miss the massage there) and the Palace. Air conditioned!!! A perfect place to stay for a couple nights.
Check in process easy - staff are welcoming and helpful. The room itself is large and lovely including the bathroom which is massive (doesn’t have good lighting though, ladies). Bed comfortable as is the day bed. The view is what we came for (which is stunning), as per most of the travellers on here - and I guess I didn’t really head their advice but where we come from (NZ), if you stay on a riverfront room it’s normally a nice tranquil peaceful experience. The boats are really noisy and I think if the hotel wanted to improve this for guests then double glazing would be a good solution, and would help keep the room cool without much effort. We wore earplugs to sleep and this helped greatly - the breakfast as per other comments is your average fare, nothing special. A nice place but not worth the price in our opinion. Get a drink at a nearby bar and enjoy the same view.
The view is amazing during the morning, afternoon and evening, and immediately see the beauty of Wat Arun, and around the hotel many culinary locations are quite tasty and relatively inexpensive, the hotel rooms are quite clean, the staff is quite friendly. Thank you
My husband and I stayed here for one night while in Bangkok and it has a spectacular location. However, the photos online definitely make this B&B look a little more fancy and updated than it is in person. Overall - good quality, very nice staff, hard bed, great location, and nice breakfast. Opt for a view of Wat Arun if you can!
Small boutique hotel right across the river from Wat Arun. In a great location to hit the top three tourist attractions: The Grand Palace, Wat Po and Wat Arun. Unfortunately though you are in the middle of tourist central. Eating choices geared in that area for tourist. Hotel needs freshing up; a little run down, paint peeling, windows of our room were never cleaned! To see the view, we actually cleaned our windows because we could not stand it. Towels thinning and grey. Bathroom in lobby dirty. Our room was under the roof top bar which on Friday and Saturday night was pretty loud. Breakfast mediocre, no exotic fruits! In Thailand there are so many fruits, what is offered: apples, regular bananas and watermelon. What about papaya, mangos, mangostein, and pomelo??!! Orange juice from a can??? Hotel Roof bar, Eagle Nest, watered down expensive drinks where you have to fight to get a seat while there are those taking hundreds of selfies, while one is trying to enjoy the view. Staff nice but not too informed. Lovely view but would not choose this hotel again.
The view from the room was amazing as Wat Arun is lit up at night. The room itself was stylish and the staff were good, but the rest of the hotel was tired and lack lustre, including the walk up and entrance. Despite that I did love the location and the room as the view was so wonderful. A river view room is a must or I would elsewhere which does offer the river view of Wat Arun. The downside is that the walls are thin so you can hear the footfall from visitors to the Eagle Nest bar at the top of the building, and the AC is a little loud during the night. Read less
We enjoyed this place very much with our family of 8. Great service, excellent Thai food. We had Tom Kar Kai (coconut soup) which was great. Fantastic view. We came there for lunch but we suspect the view is even greater for dinner. It is also close to the pier and to Wat Pho.
We were expecting more. Okay, the view on Wat Arun from our room was spectacular and the staff was very friendly and helpful but that was about it. There a an overall bad smell in the hotel. (including the minibar), The door to the balcony had 'holes' in it so muskitoos and the sound from outside (especially the roof top bar) could come in without a barrier. There was no elevator. The internet says it is a 4 star hotel. Well by no means. 1 or 2 stars maximum. We paid over 600 Euros for 6 nights. There are much better hotel for less money.
We stayed here for the last leg of our holidays in Thailand and we loved it! The room was spacious and has a spectacular view of Wat Arun! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. If I can criticise this place, it will be the that it needs to be revamped. The carpet and stairs are a bit tattered and the walls needs a new coat of paint. Aside from that, our room and bathroom was clean and comfortable. Stay here if you want to visit the temples and the Grand Palace. The area is very quiet at night time so not ideal if you want to have a few drinks or a late dinner as most restaurant are closed by 7:30pm.
After an exhausting walk through Wat Pho, I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant for lunch. I had a delicious meal on the terrace while enjoying the view of the newly renovated Wat Arun. Friendly service, yummy food, great view.
