Hotel is very well positioned. Close to most atractiones, like Golden temple, China town, Golden Budha.... Unfortunately, I could not wisit it, because at time of my visit, was coronation of the King. But it was also nice experience for us.
Booked this room through Expedia. On the site the property looks clean and presentable. In person it’s a very different story. The property is run down and dirty. The entrance is located in an alley. Nothing like the pictures online. Tiny lobby. The elevators are also tiny and the rugs are stained, dirty and worn. When I spoke to management about this their response was “That’s OK. Hotel only dirty in hallway”. In the room, I found a clump of hair and two large pieces of glass in the fridge. Each piece of glass was about 2 inches long. Almost sliced my finger reaching in. When I showed them the pieces of glass they ignored it. Just took them and dismissed me. Horrible. The bathroom has 1980s fixtures. The shower points directly at the opposite wall. When the water is on it hits the wall and the water runs all over the floor. Not safe. Called Expedia for assistance and checked out immediately. The front desk personnel was not helpful at all. Dismissive would be the word to describe them. Very opposite to every other experience I’ve had in Thailand. Will update this post tomorrow when I speak to hotel management.
Its an old standard hotel in Bangkok and close to tourist locations, can walk to china town , walk or tuk tuk to Great Palace. Tuk Tuk to Kan Sou Road which is worth a look. Beds on the hard side, linen and towels clean, breakfast ok.
Had a great experience at this hotel. On arrival the staff were extremely polite and helpful and happy to be of service (gave us complimentary orange juice which was a nice gesture.) Check in was easy and the staff insisted on taking our bags to our rooms which we really appreciated after walking for a long time in the extreme heat. The room itself was clean and tidy. Had a fridge with complimentary water and drinks in the fridge which were offered like a minibar. Air-conditioning worked great too. The bathroom was also tidy and offered complimentary shampoo and body wash. The hotel had a restaurant downstairs which we never tried but looked nice. They also had a gentleman located near the door (think he may have organised excursions) who offered us free advice on taxis, best locations to visit and how to get there. He was extremely helpful too. Location was great. Once you get your bearings you realise that you are within walking distance of some main tourist spots (The Grand Palace, Khao San Rd, China Town etc.) All in all we had a great stay here and would return.
We were a little disappointed with the decor as the hotel and rooms did not look like the photos, however, the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Location is good for Chinatown and a short tuck tuck ride from the Koh SAN Road. Hotel staff were friendly especially Piya who made our stay a pleasure .
We had a long layover in Bangkok on our way to Phuket. The plan was to rest for a couple of hours and head out in Bangkok to do a little sight seeing before we had to go back to the airport. This was a perfect place to do this! This was inexpensive and close to a few temples we wanted to make sure we got in. The staff was helpful with guiding us on a few questions we had as well. Overall I would recommend this place if you are needing a brief inexpensive stay in Bangkok.
Cons first 1. Bad service, evening staff at the reception doesn't understand even basic English, too difficult to communicate. Upon asking for empty plates and spoons to our room, they asked us to come down to reception to collect and pay 100 baht, yes 100 baht for empty plates and spoons!! 2. Look and feel of the hotel is dark and gloomy. Room furniture is old and not maintained properly. My room curtains had some faulty rail and did not cover the windows properly, chair had stained upholstery. 3. Location is far from most of the shopping destinations like Platinum Mall, C21 and Chatuchak Market. 4. no toiletries except ear buds and useless shower cap Only Positive point about the hotel is its proximity (2.5 km walk) to the Grand palace.
Hi everyone my friend and I stayed here the beginning of febuary 19, here goes first impression, staff were helpful, try to turn on tv, ok picture no sound, we were only there for 3 nights so ok no need, room was clean, shower too short hit my chest ha ha, ok no hot water in the sink, had to shave in the shower, good air con, big hard bed, I like a hard bed so ok, no view at all, kept curtains closed, chinise new year so breakfast was aimed at them people, stir fry,s and stuff, we never ate the breakfast because at 300 bhat it was not worth it, for a British person, although we ate when we came home, tried a few meals all reasonable prices but only gave small portion, but what we had was nice and well presented, staff always looked smart and well dressed, hotel was clean.
My main complaint is how deceiving the pictures are. The place isn't bad and the staff is VERY friendly. But I was looking for a place to stay in for a 5 night vacation and this was not going to be relaxing for that long. It feels like a motel 6. Elevators are tiny (about 4 people max). Very old rooms with very old paint. Only one electric outlet in a random corner (not good because I wanted to have my phone near me but had to be charging across the room). Only one window that faced an unattractive parking lot. Wifi was rediculously slow. Even though we had full strength the entire time, it would sometimes slow down so badly that it would cut off for 2 to 3 minutes. I wouldn't say it had major issues, but it wasn't somewhere I would want to stay for a full week. One night might be ok though. On the plus sides, it had a really good location and the restaurant downstairs was pretty good.
We stayed here for 2 nights, upon arrival the staff were very helpfull carrying our cases and the reception were kind offering fresh juice and information about the area. They have a tour desk which we used to contract a day excursion to Ayutthaya. The restaurant breakfast had a wide variety of foods and we also ate there one evening and it was excellent and cheap. The hotel was clean but the room we stayed in could of done with a bit of updating, especially for a 4*! The location was great as we walked 10 minutes to the grand palace etc and tuk tuk were outside every evening waiting to take us around.
