We stayed at Akara to bookend our trip as we were traveling in and out of Bangkok - we were very happy with both rooms of our visit and we even got a free upgrade on our room the end of our trip! Both had fabulous bath tubs and the rooftop pool has a good view. Staff was very helpful and always there to help when needed.
I looooooved the afternoon tea - available free of charge - and showers attached available to the gym. Meant we could grab a bite and freshen up even after we had checked out. The culinary library/bar area is great to relax in. Rooms were lovely, and we were upgraded on arrival to a suite with a bath. I'd hurt my ankle before arriving, and Moni was very attentive and checked in on me frequently. The concierge were helpful. The food was just OK, and the restaurant was a bit chilly. Otherwise - perfect. Would stay again and would recommend
Swanky hotel with great and courteous staff. Loved the spacious round bathtub with rain shower. Top floor pool is "instagram" worthy with bar one floor above it and DJ playing chill music some days. Like that there was never a crowd in the pool / bar area so you can really chill and relax. Location is not exactly central but close enough for a 10-15 minute taxi ride to most popular places.
There is nothing negative to say about this hotel. It was simply wonderful. From the minute we walked in and were greeted with cold towels and tea, to the minute we left on a complimentary tuk-tuk to the sky train, it was a pleasure to be here. The rooms are spacious and well thought out. Little modern touches raised eyebrows, like a touch screen controller for the lights, aircon and alarm, and interactive TV screen. ( well 2 actually, as we had a suite and there was one in the bedroom and one for watching whilst in the bath!). We never made it to see the free buffet in the afternoon, but judging by the rest of the food, I'm sure it was good. The breakfast was outstanding, well worth adding to the booking . It changed daily and was quite extensive mixing Thai food with continental. My favourite however, was the Barracuda bar on the roof top and the pool. It really is as amazing as the pictures, and the C-fizz cocktail, which once discovered, I had every night! Every good hotel is made so by the staff and particular mentions to May, Marc and Jacky the manager. We loved the hotel so much that we booked to come back on our return fro Krabi, and were upgraded to the top suite! Absolutely made our holiday.
Staff is nice. Food is fantastic. Good for photos. Highly recommend. Only one thing is the swimming pool is a bit small. But overall is nice. Can enjoy the free food and drinks in the afternoon. :):):)
Stayed here for 3 nights before travelling South. There are only positives to say about this place and its staff. Upon arrival the treatment of guests is excellent. The room we had was glorious, staff could not be more helpful, whether in room, at dinner or needing to get somewhere. Particular mentions for May on reception, Marc at Concierge and Jacky the Manager. We left open where to stay for a final day return to Bangkok but after this experience we booked in again. On our return, we were upgraded unprompted to a top suite!
We stayed in Akara for 2 nights before we fly home and were happy with our stay. Its located near the Ratchaprapop station on the skytrain from the airport. The hotel is styled really well and the staff were great and helpful, particularly our concierge who drove us via tuk tuk to the station when we left free of charge (sorry I forgot your name!). Rooms were well equipped although strange there was no sink in the toilet area so you had to walk across the room to wash your hands, feels like the bathroom should have been placed by the door rather than the window. The electricity had a tendency to buzz when the lights were on also. TV was good had loads of channels and Netflix installed provided you had your own account, the Android system did get confusing at times but after pressing every app we managed to figure it out and it still seems in the process of being updated by the hotel in terms of information e.g. about restaurants. Breakfast was great and so was the complimentary food served 2-5pm on the 2nd floor and meant we didn't have to go out for lunch! Views were amazing and although the pool was small it was still refreshing. Its located close to Indira market which is great for picking up last minute presents and a few restaurants, but it is next to a flyover which is busy all hours but the noise is kept out to an extent (we were on the 11th floor). They offered us a late check out at 1500baht until 6pm which was handy as we have a late flight! Highly recommend if you need to get to the airport and want a nice place to stay! Thankyou
Mind blown as soon as we walked in through the door. I’m a person that works in customer experience and I can confidently say that Akara has it figured out how to make customers feel very welcome. We were greeted at the door by Moni and at first impression he made sure we fell in love with Akara and Bangkok. He took the liberty to walk us up to the waiting lobby while he took our information to get us seamlessly checked in. While we waited there was a huge spread of food and drinks waiting for us. Their check in process is not to be standing in a long queue but instead enjoying food and drinks while your luggage is taken up to your room and they even walk you to your room when you are ready. We were then walked us up to the room where we realized that we were upgraded to a much superior room than what we originally booked and Moni took the liberty to explain how everything worked. I don’t ever leave reviews on TripAdvisor but a hotel experience can not be better than this. The only place I will stay every time I come to Bangkok.
Before staying in the Akara Hotel, we have already stayed three nights at Banyan Tree Hotel. We chose Akara hotel because it is a new hotel, hence we didn’t have much of expectations on the custom service or quality of the hotel. however Akara Hotel actually surprised us in many aspects 1. The Genral Manager Zaki was very down to earth, he greeted every single customer and even spent time to talk about what the hotel can provide and asked for feedback of improvement when we checked out which we have never seen from other 5 stars hotel. 2) this hotel is only 15mins walk to Central World, instead of being in the heart of center, you can enjoy some quiet time at night in the hotel yet still have proximity with the vibe. 3) the mini food bar buffet open to all customers was very client friendly and with a lot of variety to choose; and it’s free 4) the gym was very clean and well equipped and it’s 24hrs 5) there is free Duk Duk service to nearby BTS, MRT and King Power (big shopping mall with many duty free shops). There is an infinity pool in the hotel which looks very romantic at night. Highly recommend this hotel for couples or solo travelers who want to enjoy a modern hotel with great service.
