Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore, Curio Collection by Hilton

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The hotel was very convenient to all the important tractions in downtown as well as being a short hop skip and jump to Johns Hopkins. I plan to stay there again in a couple weeks when I come back!

I want to start off by saying that I travel all over the country and the Pier 5 by far is probably my favorite place to stay and vacation at. I have now stayed there 5+ times since 2007. The service is second to none, rooms are beautiful, the location is perfect and located only steps from the National Aquarium, easily accessable, they offer amazing packages, and their daily happy hour with complimentary culinary demonstrations is something we always look forward to. I guarantee and put my credibility down that you will love tbis place and come back again and again.

When I checked in until I checked out I experienced unacceptable customer service - I asked for a roll away bed and was told it would be sent up to my room, then I called the desk twice in an hour and it finally arrived. Seemed to be poor staff communication. I wanted to order room service at 10:30 pm and was told that since the restaurant was closed there was no food available. This hotel should not be reliant on in-house restaurants' schedule for guests requesting room service. Then I was given a recommended menu for a pizza delivery which took two hours to deliver (not the hotel's fault but certainly added to my unpleasant experience.

On the first day of check-in I gave front desk my credit card information ONLY after agreeing that I would not be charged for the room until checkout. At the moment, my account had ~ $300 which didn't matter because I was told there were no authorization fees. By the day of check out, I would have had the total for the room PLUS extra [pre-planned!!!] . Little did I l know, the cost of the room was charged to my account immediately after checking in (5 days before checking out), 2 separate charges of ~$600 each (cost split in 2!). I had not realized this till the day of checkout so needless to say my account was overdrawn TWICE so I was charged a total of $70 for the fee, leaving my account ~$50. When I called the hotel to rectify the situation the front desk person was extremely helpful and even thought it was strange that I was charged on the first day twice for half of the bill. HOWEVER, the manager , Elizabeth, not only gave me the runaround (had to call several times even when she asked for my number to update me but never did so unless I contacted her hours or a day later) but she also explicitly said to me and the bank representative that she didn't feel the hotel should be inconvenienced for $70 although they admit to lying on the first day. She was not only rude (consistently making snarky comments and sort of laughing) but extremely pretentious, self-righteous and lacked customer service. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!! If you do, be prepared for the HORRIBLE ATTITUDE

The experience was all good except the linens. They were clean but looked used and old.

The hotel doesn't have a parking space at all. Valet parking cost $38.95 a day. Consider the cost of parking to the cost of hotel before booking. But this hotel is in central of every attractions of inner harbor. Great place to stay.

Wife checked in before I got to hotel and front desk said she wasn't check in. He told me she wasn't staying here after giving me name room and phone number. After 15 min he goes oh yeah I see now. Closet in room was hanging off, TV had lines in picture, next to us people were smoking and blasting music waking up out 5 month and 2 year old at 1-4am. Up side? was $100 and had free breakfast....

Quiet and reasonable setting with excellent location

I have now stayed at Pier 5 many times over the years. The location is the best at the inner harbor, incredible balcony view, great value, great ammenities, and super friendly staff.

Wish we would have been given a little better view of the harbor especially for the price of the room. Great location to get around the inner harbor.

Stayed overnight to tale in an Orioles game, see the new casino, and enjoy the harbor. Although it's quite a hike to the stadiums and casino, its very close to the Power Plant shops like Philips and B&N books, also the Aquarium though we didnt visit this time, and for us that area was much less hectic than where the Hyatt/Marriott, etc. are located. Room was nice, breakfast staff in the lobby were very, very polite and helpful (and reasonable prices!). Single dislike: there are parking lots literally next door with 24-hour fees that I guess are OK ($22/day); but no in/out privileges meaning the meter starts again each time back in. Would be better if the hotel sold or rented a swipe card to allow this, could even charge a bit more but would be justified.

Overall everything was very good. James at the front desk was great. Fabulous location. At checkin they throw you a sheet of paper listing items you get for an extra $9.95 such as Wi-Fi, lobby event, etc. This charge is mandatory whether or not you use these items. It is listed on fine print on the hotel web site but not on the site I used for booking.. By checkin time it's kind of late to change your hotel decision so keep this extra charge in mind when you compare rates.

Simply superior! Exceded our expectations! Right next to the aquarium,to get any closer you would have to sleep in the dolphin pool! Attentive and courteous staff that went out of thier way to make us feel welcome. Beds comfy with tons of soft, feather pillows. Large flat screen tv and wine glasses along with complimentary Voss water. Clean, quiet, with a great view of the harbor. No complimentary breakfast but coffee is available in the lobby. The perfect choice for your next stay in the Inner Harbor!

Were disappointed room wasn't ready when we arrived about 1:30 p.m, but they do say 4 p.m. check in.

The hotel is in an excellent location right between the downtown inner harbor section and Fells Point. There are many restaurants and activities within walking distance. The hotel was very clean with a very friendly staff and our room had a balcony overlooking the harbor.

I loved this hotel, I had a great view from balcony. The aquarium was feet away along with other sites and places to go. I also loved that we can bring our 2 small dogs.

Pier 5 is a great hotel and is in the best spot around all the attractions. The staff is very nice and helpful in checking in and asking any kind of question. The decor is art deco meets 1990's style hotel. If your tall, then you will notice that the bathrooms are Japanese short shower/sink. Oh, good water pressure. It's in the PERFECT place surround by all tourist places. I would stay here again!!!

Excellent staff. Very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Could invest in newer sheets. Rooms fairly small. But the location can't be best! Funky Art Deco style decor. Nice change from the chain hotels. Would stay there again.

Nothing wrong with the hotel, but website led me to believe I was getting a harbor view room. Not true only some bar and dining passes. Only there for one night, staff tried to hook us up, rather misleading by the website.

The Pier 5 Hotel couldn't be in a better location! Great staff, unique amenities, and two fantastic restaurants on the main level. Highly recommend.
