Overall, I had a pleasant, mostly problem-free stay at this apartment in Austin. The pictures on the listing are accurate. The apartment was very clean, and well equipped with dishes, towels, cleaning supplies, and plenty of K-cups for the coffee maker.
Just a couple things that potential renters should know, and the owner may want to address:
- Entry into the upstairs apartment is by using the keypad on the garage door in the alley behind the house, and then going through the garage to the stairway. At the top of the stairs is another door with a keypad, which gives you entry to the apartment. This was unclear in the instructions, and I spent 40 minutes texting with the property manager to figure this out.
- The entry door to the apartment actually enters directly into the bedroom.
- The windows and door in the bedroom are only covered by flimsy venetian blinds that let a lot of light in, and there are several street lights or house lights shining in. Owner should probably install some room darkening curtains. I was waking up at 3AM, thinking it was daylight.
