Last minute accommodation for an overnight business trip - excellent location for the meeting and the staff and facilities were ideal. Breakfast meeting was excellent in the surroundsings of the hotel so overall a very good hotel.
Once again, the Novotel Ellerslie povides quality service, comfort and an enjoyable and convenient stay. Close and convenient to the city and airport, this hotel is a great location to stay for business and has great conference facilities.
We had a night booked at the Novotel last Friday, and arrived in pouring rain. With no sign of a parking space, we parked under the front portico and were instantly helped by a delightful young man. He told us to go on inside and he'd sort the parking. What a blessing. The place was packed with a large conference, but the reception staff were brilliant. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't get into the restaurant until 7.30p.m. and the receptionist even offered snacks for our young grandson. We went out and bought food, and they sorted the car for us, and organised plates and cutlery on our return. The room was spacious and comfy with everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was outstanding, I am DAIRY FREE and mainly wheat free, and I have never seen such a tasty array of food for people like mysef at any other NZ hotel. When I asked what foods contained milk, I was treated with respect, not the 'oh dear another one of them,' which is often the case. He organised scrambled eggs for me and was just an absolute darling. If you're in Auckland go here for breakfast. Every staff member we dealt with was fantastic, and delivered 5 star service. I marked sleep down as I was woken at 3 a.m. by people talking and laughing extremely loudly in the corridor, but they stopped when another guest called out for them to be quiet and have respect. But that is not the hotel's fault.
You make it to Auckland and spend hundreds of dollars for your stay at the Novotel, in a major city that is most certainly well connected. You make it to your room, get settled in. Eventually, you try to reach for your phone and think to go on the WiFi. You enter your room number and last name as the front desk instructed. You look forward to having the WiFi made available to you. Suddenly, you're prompted with a $10/24 hour charge. Refuse to be nickel and dimed. Don't stay at the Novotel.
Had a very short overnight stay here. Were given an upgrade, - thank. But when you basically only sleep for one night - limited benefit in that. Hotel is solid and things works as it should. Friendly and efficient staff, - with one significant let-down. Breakfast - i picked continental, and it is really really limited, poor bread selection, poor cheese offering and not really a lot to go for. And breakfast staff - had somewhat of a lazy attitude.
Excellent location straight off the Southern Motorway (and next to Ascot Hospital) to pop in for lunch away from the rush & bust. Peaceful in the sunny outdoor courtyard. Nice bar menu and attentive staff. Accor dining discount applies for members.
Great spot to stay when heading to mount smart stadium. Rooms are really nice, clean and the staff are super friendly. Breakfast was great also with a wide variety of hot and cold favorites. Only a $12 Uber to the stadium.
We stayed here for the Ed Sheeran concert and although the room is was much bigger than your average auckland suites, many things need upgrading for the amount you pay. The bed was comfy but the pillows were so flat, the tv doesn't get channel 2 and the screen has lines through it. Also after a long day and night, I just wanted to come back to a nice hot bath but once it filled up, the water was lukewarm and wouldn't heat up at all. Was a little dissapointed but it was okay.
We stay in a lot of hotels... this place given the price is poor value... bed was comfy and lush sheets but that's where it ends... shower overbath... no flexible nozzle to assist in washing your hair... tiles and grout have seen better days...and pay 400+ to stay there and an additional 15 bucks for parking... you got to be kidding... First time we ventured here and it will be the last unless they give the place a serious spruce up.... Food for dinner was served with complimentary caterpillars... Carry your own bags unless you beg for some assistance and we can't give you a late check out as we are really busy I'm sorry... Poor value and not typical of Accors usual global standards... although seems common in NZ to have poor service so maybe we to used to quality service from those abroad....
I stay here regularly as my work takes me up to Auckland reasonably often and the friendly staff at Novotel Ellerslie always make me feel welcome and valued as a guest. The service is consistently good and you get sense that that the management and staff at this hotel really care about their guests. Which is why I keep coming back. It's the little touches, and the thought behind them, that really do make a difference. The staff really care about your comfort and so if I really have to be away from home, this is where i prefer to stay in Auckland. The hotel is also centrally located too... just a short trip into the city or south Auckland... and it has a good restaurant. Staying here is a pleasure.
