Hotel located just off the highway and around 25mins from the airport. Although it is close to the highway but it is extremely quiet. The rooms are extremely spacious and easily fit a family of 4. I had the room overlooking the racecourse and its very nice. Right next to the hotel is the train station and gives you easy access to everywhere! The downside to this hotel is that there's not much to do around the hotel as it is not located in the city. However, the near supermarket and eateries are about a 10min easy walk from the hotel. The price at this hotel is very reasonable and a very busy hotel!
The quality of the room exceeded the design of the lobby and common areas that are shared with the adjacent Ibis. A delightful check in greeted us and Accor status recognised with a room that had views to Ellerslie a Race Course. The room was great. Good proportions, comfortable couch and desk. Tea, coffee making facilities etc. and supremely quiet. Overall an enjoyable stay and recommended.
Hotel is so close to the train station for the train to Penrose for concerts at Western Springs. There's convenient free parking by the Auckland Racing Club. Rooms are always well presented and the bars and restaurants provide great service.
Very comfortable hotel. Bed was great. Room was excellent. If you are going to stay here, be aware the address on web site is NOT the actual address of the hotel. Checked in online & gave arrival time, but room was not ready for over an hour later, close to 3.30!
We stayed here for two nights. The king bed was really comfortable, the shower large with great water pressure. This is a really quiet hotel. The staff are really helpful and friendly. There is a nice bar where you can get snacks all day. The breakfast is rather pricy, but no more so than other hotels in the area. If you are on business or need to go to the Green Lane eye clinic (as in our case), then this is a really nice place to stay.
From the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left we felt welcomed and at home at the Novotel. Staff at the reception, room service and breakfast all smiled and said hello every time we passed and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were well equipped and clean. We were missing tea spoons but these arrived within minutes of being requested. Breakfast was outstanding, so much choice and cooked to order pancakes, French toast and eggs Benedict were excellent. We had a room with 2 doubles go 4 of us (2 kids) and it was good. Beds aren’t huge but big enough and plenty of space in the room. The location is very close to easy and regular trains to britomart so we would happily stay again rather than have something less good in the city. If you’re visiting the pop up globe though the location couldn’t be better, a 5 minute walk! We will definitely be back.
The worst experience I ever had in a hotel, the duvet had blood stains so disgusting, it took them 30 mins to change the same at 11pm, they did apologize but I paid top dollar, they gave me a 12$ discount
We arrived to a warm welcome smile from staff at Reception and they were helpful and gave our keys and asked for any requests we may have so as to enjoy our stay We booked for dinner prior to attending A Mid Summers night Dream at the pop up globe Theatre
Clean and rooms were nice. There is a small gym which mostly has a couple of treadmills and some weights but better than nothing. Out of all the novotels I have stayed in (compared with Hamilton, Rotorua, Wellington and New Plymouth), this was a bit of a letdown in the food and restaurant department. Service and staff were great but the selection and layout for the breakfast buffet was dissapointing in comparison. Location of plates, bowls and cutlery was not as intuitive and much smaller selection of foods in general. Apart from that was great. Location is good - not too far to CBD and not too far to southern sites like rainbows end etc.. Racecourse is right next door if thats your thing.
Some of the worst food I have had in a long time. The ‘buffet’ expensive at $59 pp is a ghastly return to the 80s, was a mess and unappetising. The a la carte menu was Very expensive. Very disappointing. We would take ourselves up the road to Remuera if we ever stayed here again which is unlikely.
