This is my favourite location near my work in Auckland mainly due to the consistent excellent Customer service experience the comfy room and being an Accor member the delicious complimentary nibbles and personal letter of welcome. Sincere thanks to the customer manager Varnna a beautiful young lady who truly makes you feel special.
This ideally situated facility offers the best available if you want time out and still enjoy access to local attractions and services. Staff are friendly and accommodating and when I decided we had not been charged for a service when booking out they went to all extremes to prove I was charged okay.
Got to the room - no menu Ordered ice for a drink and a food menu all that was available was pasta ( which we ordered and we all gagged on) or curry. Ahh where is the burger, for blt Sandwiches. Really poor - wondering why we are Accor members!
My family are frequent visitors to Acacia Bar and Restaurant in Ellerslie. On 3 occasions we happened to have the same waiter. He recognised us on the two consecutive visits. He approached us and asked us about some Māori words. We had te reo lessons 101 right there. Stephan is Russian and appeared to be very keen to learn and know about first peoples of this country. the 3rd time we went he said kia ora, kei te pehea koe in his Russian accent. We gave another greeting and a phrase to learn until our next visit. His table service was very good also. Thank you Stephan, nga mihi kia koe.
Interesting staff at the front desk, one lady didnt look that happy but we managed to talk to another front desk staff member who was just the best and nothing was too much trouble. She validated our ticket (for two days) as we kept having to get new tickets everytime we went out and since we were setting up a function at the event centre we were in and out all the time. Room was lovely and quiet, not much noise so very comfortable. Wasn't fussed on the ACACIA RESTAURANT for dinner - not much selection at all and we asked for the Garden menu as well.... but we had an amazing breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. All in all a lovely stay - thank you once again
Ideally situated near to the ASB show grounds where we attended the Boat Show but have used it to attend the Food Show as well Bedrooms are consistently presented and comfortable. Good restaurant for dining in as well as breakfast . Staff all very friendly and helpful . Also nearby is a train station that can take you into town if you wish without having to drive and park a car
I have stayed here occasionally for about 10 years and lately have felt it's decline. Last night I hardly slept due to the air conditioning cycling on and off every 60 seconds. The panel for the air is illuminated and faces into the room which lights the whole place up! The bathrooms are dated with no luxury items. I hate having a shower over a bath! The the channels are limited with no decent overseas news channels only Aljazeer. Breakfast was appalling, cold bacon, solid scrambled eggs a toaster which undercooked bread with one pass through and cremates it with two. Parking is pricey too. That was my last visit.
Stayed at this place for 3 days on a business trip. We (a colleague and I) arrived around noon on a Monday. For some reason my booking.com reservation, although confirmed to me, had not reached the hotel and consequently they had to improvise. While this was sorted out, the only advice I got was: please wait. For half an hour or more. Not what you want to experience after a 28 hour flight... Finally, as this was sorted out, the rest of the stay was ok: Room is spacious, but relatively basic, AC sort of worked. Windows did not open, though. Breakfast selection was ok too and included a dedicated egg station: always a treat. The gym was small: a treadmill and some weights was about it. Except from the start, pretty much an ok stay. But the pricing is, to my European standard, on the high side.
I recently had an amazing stay at Novotel Ellerslie for my birthday weekend. The Junior Suite was presented perfectly with little treats to celebrate my birthday. My partner and I had dinner in the Acacia restaurant, we chose the new winter a la carte menu. The food was delish especially the scallop entree and duck. The staff were efficient and professional, we couldn't have asked for better.
Be careful when booking online and then cancelling your order as they will still have your room booked and they will take your money from your master card[ interest included, as well] . Then denial all.
