I have stayed several times over past 3 years - 2018 shows upgrades to the decor, entry and conference facilities. Impressive redesign. The staff have always been very professional and efficient and this remains commendable. Definitely recommend for above as well as room cleanliness and quality well portioned meals.

I stayed at this hotel after a very long flight for two days , the receptionists were very friendly and gave me the room although I arrived very early , check in was quick the room was superb though the internet was slow , the tv had an infinite number of channels . I highly recommend the hotel .

Booked into this Hotel for the final night of our NZ holiday as it was just up the road from our Hire Car Depot and the Hotel offered a Shuttle Service to the Airport. The Reception Staff appeared to be very professional and gave a service befitting this standard of Hotel. Our room was very comfortable with all the amenities expected as well. I was disappointed to find not all Sky Channels were available, as they had been at previous hotels we stayed at throughout the North island, but that is a small comment to have to make. My early morning call didn't eventuate, but I'm not sure if that was my doing or a fault in the Hotel's system. Wasn't a problem and we were picked up by the Shuttle on time anyhow. Renovations were taking place across from the Restaurant, which reduced the ambiance somewhat while we had our evening meal, which was beautiful and reasonably priced. I would probably look at staying here again and would also recommend to my friends.

Arriving any where after midnight is no fun, so arriving here was perfect just short shuttle bus ride from the airport. we found the staff helpful at this hour. We were on the second floor unfortunately we couldn’t find the lift to get to our room not quite if there is one. So if you can’t carry your bags up stairs request a room on the ground floor. The bed was very comfortable & we were able to get some sleep. The buffet style breakfast catered for all tastes & dietary needs. Would recommend staying here although it was only a stopover for us. Value for money if you can search the deals.

As our flight to Nelson was unexpectedly cancelled, we were given an overnight stay, dinner and transfer with the Holiday Inn. The most important thing first, this was the best Holiday Inn and mid range change hotel we have ever been to (comparing with Hilton Hampton Inn or Doubletree). Hotel was recently refurbished, all is new, comes across very friendly and inviting and the dinner buffet was superbly excellent. The variety and quality of dishes was unbelievable and we still cannot believe it. Oysters, baked salmon, tiger prawns, lamb roast, beef stroganoff or freshly grilled fish, just to mention a few of the dishes. If I would ever fly through Auckland again or would have to stay in the area, that would be my hotel! @ F&B department - our compliments!

The Holiday Inn is looking fabulous after what I assume is a very recent renovation! A very happy and comfortable stay while there on business. The rooms were great and the beds were comfortable. The lobby, restaurant & outdoor areas were all really lovely! Would definitely stay again!

Stayed here while before flying out from Aukland Airport. The hotel has just been refurbished, however, the setting and layout of the hotel offers something better than the usual airport hotel. The hotel is set in landscaped grounds, with a low rise building surrounding a central pool/grounds/leisure area. The dinning offering is good with a buffet breakfast to meet most tastes.

My flight was cancelled and I was put up by Air NZ in the Holiday Inn Mangere. Both my my room and meal here were free of charge to me however, I will definitely stay here again at my own expense. The Holiday Inn is a very clean and relaxed motel and has the Airport 'Yellow' shuttle bus service running on a very regular timetable so getting to and from both Auckland domestic and international terminals is a cheap and reliable commute. My dinner meal was perfectly adequate and the staff are both friendly and attentive. I loathe hotel rooms that are fully sealed and serviced only by air conditionioners. I was delighted to find my 2nd floor room had a sliding door that opened onto a small balcony so I could sleep with fresh air after being coupled up in a plane all day. I recommend staying here if you arrive late or need to catch and early flight in the morning. I'll be back...........!

ESP Review of Holiday Inn @Airport – Auckland, New Zealand The Vibe: Older HI brand close to airport but with a bit of tropical feel to it. Recently renovated. Location & Transit Options: Close to the airport and good for stop-over stay. Best way to get to hotel is by the “yellow bus” ($6/pp each way, every 30min) or local bus 380 ($3.60/pp every 15min. Nothing much around the hotel. Room & Bath: Was upgraded as Platinum Ambassador to a suite room. Room was updated and modern with living room and separate bedroom. Bathroom was under-sized but with separate shower and soaking tub. Was one of those corner versions too small to really relax in it. Bed was comfortable. Amenities (wifi, gym, pool, etc.). Wifi very good (43Mb UL, 8Mb DL). Gym is very nice, maybe 3x standard room size with nice freeweights. The hotel has a tropical courtyard type area with a small outdoor pool, no spa. Food & Beverage: The hotel has one restaurant which was renovated but nothing special. We did not try the food. There are a dining options nearby 10--15min walk) and the front desk can help you with that. Would recommend The Post Office for evening and Sierra Café for bfast or lunch. Both are within walking distance. Staff & Service Level: Check-in was prompt and service level was good. They answered my many questions about local dining and walking options. Misc.: Things to do - There is a local winery (Villa Maria) with great lunch options about 30min walk from hotel and also a nice park on the water with walking trails. Would I Repeat?: If you need a place by the airport, this is a location I would repeat. Alternative might be the IBIS Budget which is lower grade hotel but newer.

Most certainly not value for money. The place is in chaos, is tired, and looks and feels very tatty. Broken fixtures in the bathroom, very uncomfortable bed. Finding the room was a joke... Only stay here if you really have no other option!
