Copthorne Hotel Auckland City

The staff were great - helpful and efficient. OK it's an older hotel, but for an overnight stay it was clean, very comfortable bed, quiet and within walking distance of the central city area and attractions.

A very dated hotel and ambience. Not welcoming at all and certainly not fit for a 4* and I have seen better 3*. Dissapointed that this is under the Millennium Group of Hotels. Carpets are stained on the doorway and furnitures could no with upgrades. Limited in room space for more than 1 luggage. 4* but no free wifi in rooms, no laundry service and breakfast is poor. Distant to City is not too bad. Bed is comfy and shower water pressure was good.

As previously stated is in the university area with a bit of a walk to main tourist areas (10 mins stroll). Counter-intuitively, walk up the hill and turn right at lights to get into main city. Has lots of coach parties, so can be noisy. Service in the restaurant is snail paced and is quite limited, obviously not expected to eat there. Room was on corner so had nice view over parkland.

Great restaurant, close to Vector Arena, bottle store and CBD so perfect for us. Room was quiet and extremely comfortable with fabulous cityscape. Onsite parking available and staff were accommodating and friendly. Definitely will stay again 👌🏽Awesome getaway for us ♥️

If you seek to have an early 2000s hotel experience where you get charged exorbitant prices for internet, this is the place for you. Rooms are comfortable though the walls must be quite thin, as noise from other rooms can be heard. Overall allright, but I can't believe that there are still places that charge extra for internet use.

This is a typical business hotel for business travelers and not for families. It is near the city center and is easily approachable. The rooms are small and once the extra bed is put in the room there is little space to move around. They have small parking and if the hotel gets more than 70% occupancy than the in house members also have to park outside in public parking by paying parking charges. Staff is not courteous at all especially the two females who were in the morning shift. The two male employees who were in the evening shift were really good especially one Punjabi guy who was really friendly. Breakfast is okay and they do not have any variety in the breakfast. It is standard continental breakfast. Stay if you have business compulsions, avoid if you are on holiday with family.

Stayed for a few days last month, and I have no complaints. The front desk was very nice and helpful giving suggestions on where to go. It was in a good location. It wasn't in the middle of downtown but was in walking distance. The room had a nice small balcony too! The only negative that I can see was that the breakfast was a little expensive for what you get. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel to people if they want to stay near the downtown area, but in a quieter location.

Stayed here 11 nights for the World masters games. Super staff and baristas! Very helpful. Walking distance to everything while being off the business of right downtown. Great view of the harbor with great opening garden doors on the small balcony. Loved the Copthorne.

Would recommend for someone that wants to me close to city but not right in the CBD. Was only $8 from the hotel to the sky tower in a Uber. The beds were comfortable, shower had great pressure, rooms were clean and quiet, friendly staff.

Arrived after our flight to Auckland was delayed by general bad weather across North and South Islands. Trip from airport to hotel not made easier by a closed freeway and virtually no advisory signs so a bit stressed by the time we arrived at Copthorn. Problem was lack of adequate parking on-site with this being extremely limited. Alternative parking available at a nearby Wilsons station but this was a steep walk away and would not be good in bad weather. Check-in was quick and our rooms were ready. Rooms were not luxuriant but adequate and a good size. My room was overlooking the street but not noisy. Ai conditioner made a little noise. Dinner in the restaurant downstairs was a bit hectic as there were two major music concerts in Auckland that time and lots of people trying to have dinner before going. The staff were run off their feet and one of the waitresses was doing double duty at the bar and table service. Food was ok but I had expected a bit more as our previous stay in the other Copthorne on the harbourfront was excellent. Hotel a bit of a walk from the centre of things but not too far. We stayed two nights and restaurant again understaffed but the wait staff were very friendly and obliging as much as they could be under the pressure.
