We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was clean with basic amenities. Can't expect much for the price but it was definitely a good stay. The staff were friendly to assist with our queries. About 10-15mins walk to the city centre.
As a staff member of the YMCA you have real pride in what is offered at City Lodge. The site is welcoming, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the room was really clean and fitted out. The bed is comfortable and has lots of pillows 😀😀 and the linen and towels were fresh and clean. You would think I'm just giving a biased review as it's part of our company but I'm not. I'm giving a review because they deserve it. It's a great central city place to stay.
Nice room on the 1st floor. Staff all friendly and helpful. Beds nice, all facilities we need: bathroom with shower beds etc. Kitchen and eating/laundry facilities downstairs. Was able to see explore the city from City Lodge as it is close.
City lodge is an easy short walk away from sky tower (10mins). Check in was friendly and quick, rooms are small and basic but clean and had tea making facilities. Near university accommodation I think so there was a bit of bass until the early hours. Once I shut the window it was fine. Good place for single traveller just looking to get their head down for a night.
Had a comfortable stay here. Checked in at 2am as they have a 24hr front desk. They let me accept an important work call from UK at reception. I noticed my lamp and shower needing fixing and the issue was fixed promptly. Very helpful and responsive staff. THANK YOU CITY LODGE FOR LOOKING AFTER ME! :)
Small and clean rooms with ensuite bathrooms and fridge. Stayed there two times, three nights in total. On the second stay, I had a room on the ground floor, which can get a bit loud with basically all guests passing by and not much noise insulation by the door. It‘s got some nice perks, like a cool community area and free fresh fruits at the reception, but on the other hand charges quite a bit for WiFi access, which I find a bit dated in a hostel-like place. Centrally located, you get a good value for money ratio. Definitely, can recommend a couple of nights there if you just need a simple place to explore the city.
Needed somewhere to stay overnight in Auckland CBD with my two boys. City Lodge was conveniently located, clean and great value. It had everything we needed, room was compact but had all we needed. Parking for a small fee was also available. Will certainly stay here again.
City Lodge Accommodations bills itself as a hostel on the web site where I booked my room. It was better than any hostel I've ever stayed in, but a bit overpriced, IMHO. There is some parking available on the premises (extra charge) but I didn't find out that is was sold out until after I booked. If you need this, you may want to call ahead before booking. Fortunately, I was able to find on street parking nearby, but this might not always be the case. There are a number of parking garages in the immediate vicinity. The location is a little further out but completely walkable to downtown Auckland. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was small, the bed was comfy and there was a little fridge. What I was surprised about was that there was no soap! I guess that is the hostel part of it. There was a hairdryer, a fan, and the ability to make tea. I believe there are 10 floors and only one lift, so sometimes there is a wait. Rooms were clean and secure, and I understand laundry facilities available as well as some food. There is a charge for wifi which I find rather old millennium and unusual for a big city place. It's not my favorite place to stay in Auckland, but I would stay there again if need be.
Nice clean rooms and bathroom, towels were provided, nice TV in the bedroom and working mini fridge, the closet had a hairdryer, extra blankets and other bits I cant remember. The room had a booklet with all you need to know about the backpackers facilities, things to do near by and not so near, doctors, etc. Outstanding customer service, I totally recommend it, plus is the same price as other backpackers but this is waaaaaay better. If you need a car park space call before hand to book it as the spaces are very limited
Clean and tidy, basic no-frills accommodation. Great to see te reo interpretations around the premises. Excellent self help laundry facilities. If you want a carpark make sure you book it before you arrive.
