The city of Asheville in North Carolina is getting more and more attention as a hip destination among travelers. With its architecture, historical districts, and stunning scenery, there is no way you will not love your getaway. Its unique restaurants and original atmosphere complete your experience and make you long for more.

Your one-of-a-kind trip to Asheville (NC)

Asheville is home to many significant historical and architectural sights. The art deco City Hall dates from 1928. Other important buildings to stop for are the neo-gothic Jackson Building, the first skyscraper in western North Carolina, and Basilica of St. Lawrence. The latter is the only basilica in western North Carolina. Asheville’s historic districts are Montford, Albemarle Park, and Biltmore Village. Especially the last one is home to many shops and restaurants. Also, did you know that Biltmore Estate is the largest private residence in the USA?

In case you are looking for something more active, take time off to drive along Blue Ridge Parkway and take in the scenery during a hike. The Craggy Gardens are popular for hiking and enjoying the beauty of Blue Ridge. You can even hike a part of the Appalachian Trail from here.

Where to eat, what to drink? Visit Wicked Weed Brewing for craft beers, or Dobra Tea for drinking. Coffee shop Double D’s is located in a double decker, while barbecue restaurant Buxton Hall occupies a former roller-skating rink. Other must-visits are Indian restaurant Chai Pani, bookstore and wine bar Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne bar, and tapas restaurant Curate.
