Stayed in same room for 1 night each ,a week apart same Same bathroom light was not working Otherwise room is ok once you get use to train noise

Room was large and clean, but dated. Staff were friendly. Location was very good. Breakfast was included and was healthy. All things seem like this would be a great hotel, but if you're staying in the hotel because you want to sleep at all, choose another hotel because the proximity to the train station was not bearable. Trains were very loud and functioned at all hours of the day. The room was stuffy and no air conditioning meant that windows had to be opened which made the noise much louder. I'm sorry, but I'd pay more to get some sleep.

Nice hotel. No Air Conditioning and with the trains right outside the window and the need to close curtains due to light it was very noisy and warm. Also, the staff not overly helpful. If you asked the right questions you may get an answer. For instance. We had no idea they would bring continental breakfast to our room if we put out a sign. I found out by reading reviews on Trip Advisor during our stay. Also, when 3 in a room getting extra towels was challenging. Also called front desk on phone button for front desk and got a busy signal for hours. Walked to front desk and no one there or they were on phone. Later found out to dial "0" for front desk. Needs updated on phone. Would been helpful if they would have suggested how to get downtown. We took the long route the first night and did not feel as safe as the direct way with more foot traffic.

This is an older hotel located across the street (BUT UP THE HILL) from the Alaska Train Railroad Depot. Good location for the train. BUT, there is no sidewalk to the hotel; have to drag your suitcase up the hill through the grass, or walk up about 100 plus steps to get to the hotel. Check in was pleasant and courteous. The rooms do not have air conditioning, so be prepared if it is hot, like it was while we were in town. The real disappointment was the continual train whistles throughout the night. 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 4:30 in the morning...no real sleep quality. For $225 per night expected more...by the way continental breakfast is do it yourself....coffee grounds to brew your own coffee and oatmeal to make in the microwave.

The visitor center was helpful. We took the city bus to the airport. Breakfast and the paper delivered to your door. Loved it!

My short stay was very good. Hotel staff was very accomidating, room was very clean& comfy. only thing wrong was our yogurt we got for breakfast was expired by a couple days. Other than that, it has an amazing view, its in a great spot& easy to get to, i will definitely come back to this hotel!

Near the train station and downtown. Calm , well equiped. Excellent value for the price

Close to downtown and the staff was very accommdating

We enjoyed our stay. Our suite was very nice and clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The hide-a-bed, which is the main seating was uncomfortable. The location was nice for walking to the flea market and any shops downtown. It's very close location to the train station, this could be seen as a plus or minus. Trains run all night.

Served the purpose that we needed which was to be close to the train station. Girl at the checkin desk happily gave us a different room so that we would have better internet access and that was a very spacious king room on the ground floor. Annoying that there was no where to put things in the bathroom except on the floor. Otherwise hotel was fine.

I was happy with the location of the hotel. The service was great. The tv,s need to be up dated. The sofa and the pillows. My husband I enjoyed our time and would consider staying again at your hotel thank you.

Great hotel, clean rooms and close to everything you will wanna walk to. However really close to train tracks and you will here Train horns throughout the evening and morning

I was so upset that breakfast was disgusting, because I paid approx $220. Was otherwise a good place, close to train so convenient. Had a better stay for $100 less at Arctic Fox Inn, which is just few blocks further from train.

This was a wonderful place to stay, and will definitely book here for my next trip to Anchorage. It would be excellent for a multi-day stay, as the suite was perfect. My only suggestion would be to aske for a street-side room; there is railroad noise on the other side of the building. The location is close to downtown, within walking distance to great shops and restaurants, but not right in the middle of the hub-bub. The staff was excellent and always willng to answer questions, professional and friendly. We didn't want to leave!

The hotel is located two blocks from the major downtown streets of 4th and 5th within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and attractions. The rooms are suites; mini-apartments like an extended stay hotel; nicely appointed and roomy though the building itself is charmless. Some exterior noise from trains and ships comes through which may be bothersome if you are sensitive to noise at night. My room smelled a tiny bit mustly on first entrance, but didn't bother me after 2 minutes. They have 0 amenities except packaged continental breakfast and a computer you can use in the basement. Good value if you need the space.

The train noise was horrible. The mattress needed to be changed about 20 years ago (It was like sleeping in a candy dish)! Although the room had a kitchenette, there were no paper towels or dish washing soaps.

Climate control didn't mean air conditioning & it was hot during our stay. Room rates were reasonable but maid service was non-exsistant the first day. The rooms had not had a dusting for quite some time. Price to do laundry was $1.50 each for washer, dryer & soap. Located near railroad wasn't too bad except for the 4 am train horn blowing.

Extemely pleased with hotel. Right in the downtown area in walking distance to most things. Outstanding location if planning on taking the Alaska Railroad, just a short walk down the hill.

We could walk to great restaurants, shopping, and museum. Staff was accommodating and helpful.

The Anchorage Grand is an older hotel that has been nicely remodeled and refurbished. The hotel is right downtown and within walking distance of downtown businesses. Every room I have stayed in has had a kitchen. There is no continental breakfast room, but the hotel makes a modest attempt at offering breakfast by the morning delivery of a bagel, yogurt, breakfast bar, and so forth. There is an elevator, but the entrance to the hotel is not wheelchair-friendly. Travelers who use a wheelchair should call first, because the hotel might make accommodation for that. At least one of the rooms has a large bathroom and other wide areas intended for use by people who need the extra room.
