My parents and I stayed at hotel amalfi for a night. This one stay is where I happened to forget my external hard drive for my computer. The hard drive is priceless to me with all my pictures and videos on it from other trips and the current one. Hotel amalfi has been a huge help by getting it back to me all the way to the states. I can't thank them enough. I definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area
A delightful hotel tucked away off the main square of Amalfi Town. The hotel is affordable if you're on a budget but also offers more luxurious rooms at an increased price. The staff were very pleasant and always helpful. I am a coeliac and the hotel provided me with gluten free bread and snacks at breakfast, which was extensive and served on the roof top terrace. Airport transfer was arranged for us and a takeaway breakfast provided on our last day as we were leaving early. We stayed on 3rd floor, our room was comfortable with an ensuite shower/bathroom and was cleaned every day. This hotel is in a prime central location and set on different levels with access by internal and external stairs as well as a lift. We were woken (gently) each morning by the bells of the cathedral in the square Duomo Di Amalfi but other than that the hotel was quiet. A great base for exploring the Amalfi coast, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
We had a most pleasant and comfortable stay. The Italian tile floors, ironwork balcony with a view, real crochet table coverings and so many other touches of classic Italian flavor made this one memorable. Romantic Boutique fits as well. Air, refrigerator, elevator and an awesome breakfast buffet included. Will be back! Loved it.
Hotel Amalfi was a wonderful place to stay in a perfect location in Amalfi, location right in the heart of the city - but off the main street and very close to the bus and ferry, quick 5 min. walk to the port. Good substantial breakfast. The complimentary breakfast had a nice selection, fresh and delicious. The rooms is quite and clean, comfortable beds. The view is gorgeous. staff were friendly and helpful .It was an unforgettable experience!
So here is the thing with this hotel, if you want a nice room located in a great area of the city, this is your place to go. If you want a stress free hotel where you can book, arrive and enjoy your time, stay away. My wife and I booked the hotel using our AMEX card, which was stated on the reservation website as a card accepted by the hotel. To our surprise, when we arrived they said they do not accept AMEX and since we didn't have other cards with us we would have to pay for the reservation in cash. No apologies or anything. I'll skip the hassle we went thru just to make life easier. In short, the room was good and also breakfast, but the experience we had was terrible. Regardless of the confort, this is a place that neither I or any of my family members will ever stay in again.
Disappointment all round. Small dingy cramped room with no view. Shower room equally small and badly lit Very creaky bed and could hear every sound from other nearby rooms Probably last decorated in 1970s. Rabbit warren stairs everywhere and one slow lift. Staff quite aggressive but did speak good English. Buffet breakfast all tinned and sweet stuff admittedly on roof terrace. 4th floor has been modernised but no alternative room available for our 4 night stay. Garage for 1 night €30 Location in centre is excellent and I realise that limits the hotels development but they badly need to invest in updating all rooms. Amalfi is ridiculously over priced generally so I guess they get away with this inferior product due to central position. But don't go there
We enjoyed our stay in hotel Amalfi which is located in the heart of the town. Our room was a nice size with a big bed and a nice shower. There is a decent continental breakfast. The staff are very friendly. We would stay again if returning to Amalfi!
Hotel Amalfi in Amalfi, Italy, was the worst experience we had ever experienced at a hotel. It all began with the room, which was stubbornly stuck in a 1970's time warp. Moreover, I was yelled at by the hotel staff and told that they don't need to speak English because they are in Italy. I got yelled at because I complained that the hotel didn't permit clients to print out their boarding passes. Apart from the xenophobic comments, the porter smoked next to the hotel's main entrance and all the smoke came into the lobby. In a nutshell: Expensive, poor value-to-quality ratio and horrendous and hostile service. When I asked why one of the older women who works there with glasses why I couldn't print out my boarding pass she responded: "Because it is mine!" This same woman yelled at me and gave me a xenophobic lecture about why she doesn't have to speak English because "It's her country and we're in Italy!" Avoid this hotel.
Nice family run hotel in a very good central location a short walk from the port, just on a side street off the Main Street thru town. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and a good breakfast buffet in the morning. Would recommend as a good base for exploring the local area (take bus up to ravello etc)
Hotel Amalfi is very small and outdated. The room barely fit both suitcases and left little room to walk around. The bathroom/ shower was average. Lighting was poor! You could hardly see when in the shower itself. We stayed in Hotel Amalfi as we had an event to attend close by - so location wise, it's fantastic, but i would rather stay anywhere else.
