We stayed at the hotel amalfi purely for its location which was great, right in the heart of amalfi. We had a wedding so it was important we stayed somewhere easy to get to. We arrived and thought the staff were quite nice. We stayed on the first floor - lucky because we only had to use the lift with our luggage once. Our room was very dated and old but the worst part was it was extremely small. We only just fit both our suitcases in which left us no space at all. The bathroom was also very old & it had really bad lighting (I could not see when in the shower!) The air conditioner worked well & the room was tidy however. The hotel offers breakfast which is on the rooftop, the selection is ok but nothing fantastic. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again if I didn't need to but if you are looking for location & reasonable pricing then it is fine.

My daughter and I enjoyed our 4th stay at this lovely family-run Hotel in May. Paola and her Team are all very helpful and we love starting our day on the Rooftop Terrace for a great breakfast. A few minutes walk down to the Waterfront for Ferries or local buses, makes for an ideal, convenient location. So close to the wonderful Amalfi Duomo. Highly recommended and great value.

My wife and I selected this hotel based on its good value relative to other options in the area, and its central location relative to the attractions in Amalfi. Pros: -Location: The restaurants, shops and beach were all within minutes on foot. -Staff: Their English was good, and they were helpful in answering our questions, such as getting to nearby Ravello by bus. -Breakfast: Included in the price of the room, the breakfast was enjoyable on their scenic rooftop and offered a pretty extensive selection to help us start our day without having to seek out other local breakfast options. Cons: -Sound: Because we stayed in one of the hotel's older rooms (more on that below) we could hear the loud sounds of fellow guests walking down the hallway, shutting their room doors, and walking around above and next to us. We didn't get a good night sleep in three nights there. -Room: It looks like some of the rooms were newer than others. We had a first floor room, which felt a bit outdated. The shower was a little tricky (no shower curtain), and we had some issues keeping the water from getting onto the bathroom floor. While we appreciate the "charm" of an older hotel, there is definitely room for cosmetic updates to the first floor rooms. From what we could tell, some of the rooms on the fourth and fifth floors had been renovated, so you might consider requesting those floors if you book a room here. We would recommend this hotel for the value, especially considering the location, but consider good ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

The only thing that count in favour of this hotel is the location, is access to Amalfi town Centre and also transport up and down the coast. I was very disappointed in the rooms, as it looks tired and old. Our aircon and fridge did not work and they moved us after one night. The staff was also not helpful and there is no drinks/bar area, no laundry and no amenities.

Me and my wife stopped here for a couple of nights to surprise some of my family who live in Amalfi. I previously stopped in this hotel numerous times about 10-13 years ago and I chose this hotel knowing where it was and it's excellent location. The room was just as it was over 10 years ago - traditional old school italian decor which I quite like being half italian myself. The most important factor however being that the room was very clean and was just what we wanted for a base for 2 nights. Staff were pleasant and friendly. The hotel is going through some renovation work and has already done the 4th floor. We had a sneaky peak at the hallway and it looks very good, very modern. The manager told us they are doing this floor by floor. All in all just what we wanted with no complaints what so ever.

The hotel is at a very good location. The port, bus stops and the cathedral all within 2 minutes walk. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. The room had lovely tiles and all what we wanted as we were out almost the whole day and came by in the evening. The ladies at the reception are very helpful. Coming at the breakfast...it was a totally different experience (in a positive way). We did not expect a full fledged breakfast spread, we knew there will be limited option, that said, everything was fresh and very authentic. The lady greeting us every morning was very polite and warm.

Handy location We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights The room was dated but it didn't bother us The hotel was clean and some of the staff were helpful and friendly until the last day we wanted to check out when we were asked to pay 80€ (20€ a night)when we asked what it is for we been told it's for the baby cot that they put in the room which we didn't ask for and we didn't use as our baby girl just turned 1 and don't like to sleep in other bed specially when it's not home We were then told that was compulsory and we should of knew about it although in our prepaid voucher it said the number of adult and the baby and it was fully paid for We felt cheated and disappointed

Friendly, centrally located hotel - does what it says on the tin. Kettle in room was a big plus so us brits could make our tea! Breakfast was nice, nothing too spectacular. Room comfortable and aircon at a reasonable level. Would stay here again happily :)

As with most accommodation in Amalfi, it was initially a little difficult to find for the first time but Ok after that. My wife felt it was outdated with the bright ceramic tiles but after understanding that this is one of the industries here, it all made sense. It was also close to the coast unlike other hotels that would’ve needed a possum to get up to and a mountain goat to get down. The hotel also had a great rooftop restaurant where they served a nice breakfast and was accessible throughout the day to grab a beer and wonder up. We took our lunch up there a couple of times. It was very central to most things without climbing any slopes and a hive of activity with small retail outlets starting about 20m from the hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Amalfi May 2017. We had set up transportation from the Napoli airport to the hotel which was a bit more expensive than other ways of getting to Amalfi but well worth it! The hotel itself is right in the heart of the town - the location is excellent. It is tucked away just far enough that the street noise is out of reach. I have fairly high standards for accommodations and although this hotel is far from luxurious it was exactly what we needed for our stay. Our room was a little tired looking but it was very clean and the maids did an excellent job of maintaining a clean property. The included breakfast option was very nice! The rooftop patio is very picturesque and the staff make excellent cappuccinos. The rate was very reasonable for the location of this hotel. The front desk staff were a little bit standoffish at first but they warmed up to us which was nice. Overall our stay was excellent and I would definitely recommend this hotel.
