Disappointment all round. Small dingy cramped room with no view. Shower room equally small and badly lit Very creaky bed and could hear every sound from other nearby rooms Probably last decorated in 1970s. Rabbit warren stairs everywhere and one slow lift. Staff quite aggressive but did speak good English. Buffet breakfast all tinned and sweet stuff admittedly on roof terrace. 4th floor has been modernised but no alternative room available for our 4 night stay. Garage for 1 night €30 Location in centre is excellent and I realise that limits the hotels development but they badly need to invest in updating all rooms. Amalfi is ridiculously over priced generally so I guess they get away with this inferior product due to central position. But don't go there

We enjoyed our stay in hotel Amalfi which is located in the heart of the town. Our room was a nice size with a big bed and a nice shower. There is a decent continental breakfast. The staff are very friendly. We would stay again if returning to Amalfi!

Hotel Amalfi in Amalfi, Italy, was the worst experience we had ever experienced at a hotel. It all began with the room, which was stubbornly stuck in a 1970's time warp. Moreover, I was yelled at by the hotel staff and told that they don't need to speak English because they are in Italy. I got yelled at because I complained that the hotel didn't permit clients to print out their boarding passes. Apart from the xenophobic comments, the porter smoked next to the hotel's main entrance and all the smoke came into the lobby. In a nutshell: Expensive, poor value-to-quality ratio and horrendous and hostile service. When I asked why one of the older women who works there with glasses why I couldn't print out my boarding pass she responded: "Because it is mine!" This same woman yelled at me and gave me a xenophobic lecture about why she doesn't have to speak English because "It's her country and we're in Italy!" Avoid this hotel.

Nice family run hotel in a very good central location a short walk from the port, just on a side street off the Main Street thru town. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and a good breakfast buffet in the morning. Would recommend as a good base for exploring the local area (take bus up to ravello etc)

Hotel Amalfi is very small and outdated. The room barely fit both suitcases and left little room to walk around. The bathroom/ shower was average. Lighting was poor! You could hardly see when in the shower itself. We stayed in Hotel Amalfi as we had an event to attend close by - so location wise, it's fantastic, but i would rather stay anywhere else.

A wonderful little hotel in the heart of Amalfi. The location is absolutely perfect, with restaurants, shops and local transport all within a two minute stroll of the front door. Where the Hotel Amalfi really surpasses expectations however, is the amazing staff working at the property. The staff were incredibly accommodating, warm and friendly. In fact, no other hotel we've stayed at comes close in this respect. 'Five Star' service, without the 'Five Star' price tag.

We stayed at the hotel amalfi purely for its location which was great, right in the heart of amalfi. We had a wedding so it was important we stayed somewhere easy to get to. We arrived and thought the staff were quite nice. We stayed on the first floor - lucky because we only had to use the lift with our luggage once. Our room was very dated and old but the worst part was it was extremely small. We only just fit both our suitcases in which left us no space at all. The bathroom was also very old & it had really bad lighting (I could not see when in the shower!) The air conditioner worked well & the room was tidy however. The hotel offers breakfast which is on the rooftop, the selection is ok but nothing fantastic. Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again if I didn't need to but if you are looking for location & reasonable pricing then it is fine.

My daughter and I enjoyed our 4th stay at this lovely family-run Hotel in May. Paola and her Team are all very helpful and we love starting our day on the Rooftop Terrace for a great breakfast. A few minutes walk down to the Waterfront for Ferries or local buses, makes for an ideal, convenient location. So close to the wonderful Amalfi Duomo. Highly recommended and great value.

My wife and I selected this hotel based on its good value relative to other options in the area, and its central location relative to the attractions in Amalfi. Pros: -Location: The restaurants, shops and beach were all within minutes on foot. -Staff: Their English was good, and they were helpful in answering our questions, such as getting to nearby Ravello by bus. -Breakfast: Included in the price of the room, the breakfast was enjoyable on their scenic rooftop and offered a pretty extensive selection to help us start our day without having to seek out other local breakfast options. Cons: -Sound: Because we stayed in one of the hotel's older rooms (more on that below) we could hear the loud sounds of fellow guests walking down the hallway, shutting their room doors, and walking around above and next to us. We didn't get a good night sleep in three nights there. -Room: It looks like some of the rooms were newer than others. We had a first floor room, which felt a bit outdated. The shower was a little tricky (no shower curtain), and we had some issues keeping the water from getting onto the bathroom floor. While we appreciate the "charm" of an older hotel, there is definitely room for cosmetic updates to the first floor rooms. From what we could tell, some of the rooms on the fourth and fifth floors had been renovated, so you might consider requesting those floors if you book a room here. We would recommend this hotel for the value, especially considering the location, but consider good ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

The only thing that count in favour of this hotel is the location, is access to Amalfi town Centre and also transport up and down the coast. I was very disappointed in the rooms, as it looks tired and old. Our aircon and fridge did not work and they moved us after one night. The staff was also not helpful and there is no drinks/bar area, no laundry and no amenities.
