We spent five nights In a premium room High floor. The view was stunning. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast way above spanish standard. The room was clean and comfortable. We changed rooms because of a foul smell (drain?) in the first room. Some noise from hall way and lifts.
After a tough year for many reasons we needed something special and the Tryp Gran Sol gave us everything we wanted, so glad we booked premium room on 23rd floor view and room were spectacular staff were so friendly and attentive, my advice would be upgrade to best rooms for that extra special holiday.
Lovely premier corner room with amazing views off the balcony on the 25th floor. The castle and old town and the beach and marina.Aircon, lounge area, big television Friendly staff and great breakfast. Perfect location would definitely go again.
great hotel fantastic staff and unbelievable views from the upper floors everythings on your doorstep marina, beach and its right in the middle of the old town.I can't praise the staff enough even made us a picnic on our last morning because we would miss breakfast going for a early flight.
We booked a room for one night to visit friends on their boat in the marina. Staff could not have been more helpful and we had a great room for 3 of us on the 17th floor. The views were fantastic and though the breakfast area was busy, we got seated and had a lovely tasty breakfast.
Really couldn't fault the location opposite the marina that has a great selection of restaurants and a short 20 minute hop from the airport. We grabbed this hotel due to a couple of great cheap air tickets on offer from a budget airline and on arrival at the hotel the receptionist gave us the choice of the 14th or 18th floor. As someone that suffers with vertigo I took the lower floor, which the mrs took great pleasure in when she went out on to the balcony on the windy afternoon we arrived just to torture me further. The room we had was very clean with a great view of both the marina and Santa Barbara castle (pro tip: get a taxi up and walk back down from the castle it's deceptively close but the hike up is tortuous). We did not make use of the dining facilities on the top floor but did take a look around. Overall the location is ideal with a great selection of restaurants along the promenade just a 2 minute walk away, I would stay again.
2nd visit here for 1 night, our friends stayed 2 nights and were very impressed with the hotel. We both stayed in a high floor room, 15 and 17, with tremendous views of the castle and water front. The rooms were large and spacious with a settee and flat screen TV, the bathroom was first class, the bed large and comfortable. The breakfast was good and we had no problem getting a table. The location of this hotel is tremendous, it is not the cheapest hotel in Alicante but in my opinion one the best.
In all honesty I was expecting a 3 star hotel and that would've been fine. The Tryp Alicante is definitely a 4 star hotel. We arrived via the most death defying taxi ride at around midnight and we're greeted by a great receptionist in a very modern reception. Our room was on the 4th floor so we didn't have great views but that was fine as when we go on holiday we like to venture further afield than our balcony. The room itself was nice. I would compare it to a standard room at the Hilton in Manchester- a fair size and modern. We were there for 3 days in total and each morning went down to the second floor for breakfast which was fantastic. They have everything- yoghurt, fruit, cheese, meats, eggs, sausage, bacon, beans, all different breads, pastries, cakes, a variety of donuts, jams, spreads, jelly beans, marshmallows, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, smoked fish and olives. The selection of food was incredible. We ate breakfast at a different time each day and never struggled to find a table. The lady who greeted us each day was lovely. She advised us on places to visit and each morning enquired as to how our previous day had been. We never used the Sauna or ate at the restaurant on the 26th floor but as I would definitely stay here again I hope to try these things next time. I've nothing bad to say about this hotel. 5 stars all round!
The hotel it's self is fine, room are a good size, elevators are painfull but not alot could be done to improve... No parking so you gave park 500m up the road in a public car park, not the end of the world but not great. The positive for the hotel is the location to the heart of Alicante and the harbour/sea front.
I recently stayed in the Gran Sol hotel with my mother for her birthday. We arrived on a Tuesday and her birthday was on Friday. We did not tell anyone about the occasion but the very friendly receptionist with a good eye noticed on her passport when we checked in. She was greeted with a happy birthday Friday morning at breakfast and that night at turndown was greeted with a bottle of champagne and a dessert. An absolutely wonderful thought and made my mother's day! All the staff had great English and were happy to communicate with Spanish companies if we wanted to book anything. The room was very spacious and well designed with stunning views. I cannot praise this hotel enough. 100% recommend to everybody.
