Picked this hotel purely because it had golf on site. The hotel far exceeded expectations. Room was magnificent, the food was of a high standard with great variation day to day. All staff were very friendly and helpful. A very reliable shuttle bus service can be used to go into Alicante or to other golf courses. Will most certainly go back to this hotel.
The golf course was good with nice landscape. My handicap is 16 and i found the course to be a challenge. The food at the golf restaurant was good. The hotel was clean with a nice breakfast and buffet. We went to spa after golf. Weather was 14 - 18 degrees, mostly sun.
We stayed in the Bonalba hotel for one night and honestly wish we had stayed longer. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to help you. The hotel is pristine and the room was amazing with everything we needed. The spa experience is highly recommended. We came away feeling totally relaxed and happy with the service. The food both breakfast and evening meal were lovely, plenty of choice and again the staff are very attentive. We would 100% recommend this hotel. Thank you to Eduardo and all the team at Bonalba
Hotel fine drink prices horrendous and totally unnecessary. As it was very quiet there and out of the holiday season, the cost of drinks and food from the restaurant seemed to have been increased since Las there
The hotel was in a beautiful and quite area. When we arrived we were greeted by Gerardo who became our best friend during our stay. It was lovely to see him each day and he looked after myself and my daughter. We used the spa and breakfast was good. Had a car and went to Benidorm and Alicante. Alicante is a beautiful city. Would definitely come again
Arrived tired and hungry at 9.30pm 18th November. Impressed by the hotel entrance and reception staff. Big smile and told us we could get dinner until 11pm! Very quick service to book all 8 of us in so we could unpack and get down to dinner. Dinner was buffet style and although we were late we could get plenty to eat and good variety. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and varied both hot and cold buffet. The staff were excellent and had a sense of humour. Mariola in particular was like a busy bee and laughed a lot! She was like the "roadrunner!" Our rooms all overlooked the back of the hotel and although we didn't get the sunrise it was perfect for sitting out with early morning coffee. The rooms were clean, spacious and the beds to die for! Very comfy. Bathrooms large and the twin sinks great! The only downside was the outdoor pool being closed and no indoor pool. The spa had a small pool but although some of the girls paid €10 to use this some of rooms were cold and they just used the hot tub and pool. Golf was .....well put it this way we have come home needing putting lessons! Great leaving the clubs with the caddy master, I think his name was Antonio. He was always smiling even when one of us had a wayward bunker shot on the 9th and nearly took his head off. We dined on that one all day! We left with sad hearts to return to -1C and snow from 23C but no doubt will be returning. Laughter from morning 'til night!
On arrival at the hotel, it looks reasonably impressive from the outside. The reception area is very modern with marble and glass etc. The receptionist was helpful but a smile occasionally wouldn't have gone a miss! Our room was on the 3rd floor, it was basic but clean and airy with its own balcony, however we didn't get any sun on our side so we didn't sit out. The best part of the room was the most amazing comfortable bed!! When we booked with Secret Escapes it advised us there were two restaurants in the hotel to choose from, however during our stay one was closed, probably due to the lateness of the season, so we had to eat in the restaurant with all the golfing holiday makers. The food was buffet style every evening, but themed. It was a very noisy environment with everyone wandering round fetching and carrying their next course and bumping into your chair, it was more like a school canteen! There was a good choice of food, but the hot food was never hot it was just about warm for both breakfast and evening meal. Their wine prices were also a bit steep bearing in mind the environment you were in. It was too cold to swim outside in November, however we walked around the pool area, which on first impressions was very lovely, on closer inspection the pool had tiles missing and looked quite dirty. Now what can I say about the "Spa". How very disappointing :0( First impressions are to fool you into thinking once you enter through the glass doors you will be entering a little part of luxury. Wrong!. The spa area is little more than a large plastic greenhouse on the side of the hotel. The pool is a small kidney shaped pool so not able to swim in, more lounge in, the overpowering smell of chlorine seemed to just mask the musty smell of damp and the pool was tepid in temperature. The Jacuzzi was just about working, some of the buttons were broken and therefore not many bubbles. The steam room was out of order and the sauna just about got warm enough to dry our costumes never mind make you sweat! As part of our deal we were given an hour in the spa each day, we only lasted about 40 minutes on the first day and didn't bother going back the second day. This is an expensive hotel if you paid full price, but I wouldn't be recommending to anyone to go just for a relaxing holiday, might be ok if you are golfing all day and just use it as a base.
6 of us spent a week at the hotel and playing golf at Bonalba Alicante and Alenda all the courses were good and each challenging in its own way enjoyable golf The hotel is very nice, good friendly staff very helpful I would say a normal Spanish hotel buffet style restaurant, but enjoyable food. the rooms were very comfortable twin or double, I have enjoyed my time there. Thank you to all the staff
We had a lovely realaxed stay at Bonalba hotel. We wanted a quite get away and that's what we got. Our room was very spacious with a balcony over looking the pool with was a decent size for 2 people with 2 chairs and a table. There was a mini fridge with tea making facilities next to a sink which was very handy. Bathroom was extremely clean and spacious with a big mirror over twin sinks. Shower and bath was a nice size also. Our beds were so comfortable with clean linen every day. Tv worked well and so did the Wi-Fi. Wardrobe more than big enough for the stay with a built in safe. I can only comment on the good for breakfast as that is all we booked. Lots of choice from cerals, breads, hot buffet style including 3 different sausages, eggs, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms etc..tjere was also cold meat selection, pasties, fruit and yoghurt. Nice restaurant and very clean. Pool area was lovely and well kept, with lovely plants and trees. Can really relax in this area. Only down side was that the pool was freezing....but it was October. Lobby areas and bar areas were lovely with clean lines and a modern look. Would recommend it to friends if they were staying in the area. If you want to go out the area, You must hire a car. We went into Alicante every night for a walk around and to soak up the atmosphere. If you like sun rises like me, ask for a room over looking the pool side.
I recently stayed at the hotel for a 5 day golfing with 5 friends, and I thought the stay could not have gone better. Firstly the welcome was very good, the reception staff were very efficient and our booking in was very quick. The rooms were spacious and clean and were serviced every day, the room was perfect for our needs. The food at the hotel food was very nice, breakfast was varied, from continental to English, although you have to look at it a bit tongue in cheek as the bacon isn't what you'd expect and the sausages are not good old porkers from Tesco's but the eggs are cooked to order, fried or if you want an omelette. Dinner is also very good, the food is hot due to the fact that the plates are kept hot under lights, I would suggest that you take your napkin with you just in case you pick up a very hot one as I did on the first night, there is also a la carte if want steak or fish cooked to order. There is a great swimming pool which is great for families with children of all ages, or for those who want to jump in after a tough game of golf. Finally the whole break was great I have to mention a couple of reception staff who helped us with a special request and of course Eduardo Domench the general manager who made himself known to us and other guests. If you want to pamper yourself I would suggest you go to the spa and have massage, brilliant.
