We stayed for a week at the Miramar. The accommodation was a studio apartment which was roomy and clean, it was on the same level as swimming pool. The beds were comfy and changed almost everyday, the housekeeping was very good. We found the staff helpful and pleasant. We didn't stay all inclusive so cannot comment on the meals. As previously commented the shopping car park opposite the entrance was a godsend to get you up to the main street level to walk into town. Some of the places we ate were Tim Tim Chinese and a few around the square, bar Vertigo do an excellent full english at €6 and lovely steak at Doce Jardin. There is a big market on the first and third Tuesday every month, it's situated just past the bus station. We used the tourist train but felt it was expensive for what you get and staff not very pleasant. Thomas Cook rep was lovely and she was really informative and helpful. All in all we enjoyed it with little to complain about.
Hotel was clean but is still clearly dated, review would have been higher if it weren’t for one of the receptionists attitudes, she is by far the most rude person I have ever come across when visiting hotels and is certainly in the wrong line of work. Her name alludes me but she has curly hair and wears glasses I would suggest that people should avoid speaking to her as she will look down her nose at you and speak down to you. Food was a highlight but the drinks on all-inclusive are not varied and be prepared to get small drinks especially if your ordering beer. Would recommend for family’s as the entertainment is brilliant and kids were entertained all day. This was probably the biggest strength the hotel had.
The smartline Miramar is a great hotel and 100% family friendly.. the food is really good as there is a vast variety on a daily basis and the hotel itself is super clean The staff is just amazing, Pedro in particular was a great host and so friendly, I’d definitely recommend him if you want to know the best places to visit at the Algarve.. the entertainment staff are also really approachable and always know how to have a laugh Overall, I would for sure recommend the Miramar if you’re thinking to visit the Algarve!😀
We stayed here for the May holidays and have to say what a great hotel this was, food was OK and found something to eat most nights, my only criticism is they maybe could do with a little more variety to choose from. Rooms are a little basic but then again you don’t go on holiday to stay in all day, that said there was a fridge, cooker, pots and pans should you need them. Hotel was nice and clean, cleaners in our room everyday. Restaurant staff were great, always running round cleaning away plates, the bar staff were fantastic, happy and smiley all the time and had a laugh with you, special mention about Pedro at the pool bar, he was great always had time for you and very chatty, see if you can get him to do a little beatboxing! Finally have to say the entertainment team were amazing, by far the best we have ever come across, working tirelessly to keep you entertained throughout the day and night, my 6 year old is generally quite shy and they all went out of their way to try and get him involved which they succeeded in doing. Thanks to Lamarr, Jasmine, Emma and Sofia for making a little boys holiday, he will miss them all. Will definitely try and get back here next year!
We stayed over the May half term and had a fantastic time. The hotel is clean and modern with a good sized pool. We had no problem getting sun-beds every morning. Our room was newly refurbished with plenty of space and storage. The location of the hotel is perfect with everything on your door step. All the staff at the hotel are lovely especially Pedro and the bar staff. This hotel has one of the best entertainment teams we’ve had. They all work so hard to keep all the guests amused and happy. They were brilliant, remembering all the guests names and always making time to chat. A big thank you to Jasmine, Emma,Sofia and the lovely Lamar
A fantastic find! The hotel is lovely, with a large pool and a couple of bars. All modern and kept very clean. The rooms are an excellent size with air conditioning both in the lounge area and the bedroom which was free. The rooms also are very tastefully decorated and cleaned every day to a high standard. The hotel staff are accommodating and very friendly and work very hard to keep all the guests happy. We found the food very good and always found something we all liked. We found Portugal to be a lovely family friendly place and would definitely recommend both the resort and the hotel. Last but definitely not least, we have to mention the entertainment staff! The best entertainment shows we have seen and activities to keep everyone involved. Thanks to Sofia, Lamar , Emma and Jasmine for a fantastic week!
We visited here for a short family holiday away and will come back for sure! The weather wasn’t brilliant but that is nobody’s fault. The place was very clean. Food was marvellous and plenty of choice. The entertainment team was fabulous with all day time and evening entertainment. jazz had a fabulous voice as we told her many times! The whole team was talented and worked very hard. The bar staff were friendly enough and we will be returning in October! See you all again!!
We have just returned from an excellent 10 day family holiday with our 8 and 5 year old. As we went the week before half term there were only 6 children there but this didn't matter as the entertainment team made sure that both adults and children could participate in the activities. It was our first ever all inclusive and we found the food mostly very nice. The lunch seems to be better than the dinner but there was a wide selection. On the first week we had no problem getting a sun bed which was lovely. It became a little trickier on the second week as more people wanted to be by the pool. The entertainment staff were excellent particularly Lamarr, Sophia and Emma who tried so hard to encourage our boys to get involved, Lamarr became a bit of a hero to our 8 year old as he took so much time to play football with him as well as many other games. The pool is big but a little chilly, we had a wet suit for the youngest. The pool bar serves great toasted sandwiches which make a nice change when you fancy a change from the restaurant. Pedro who runs the pool side bar was great and is very helpful. We found all the staff very friendly and keen to help. We would love to return and would recommend to anyone.
We booked to stay here as it advertises on tripadviser and hotel website that there is a heated indoor pool. This was a big reason why we booked this hotel because we are travelling with our 8 month old baby. We knew at this time of year outdoor pool would be cold. It is especially cold today because it is very cloudy so we went to reception to ask where indoor pool was only to be told there isnt one!!!?? We thought her very unhelpful and unfriendly.....her response was to go speak to our travel rep. Very disapointed and annoyed at the false advertising of this hotel!!!
My wife and I stayed here for 1 week on self catering. The hotel is spotless and the the staff very friendly. The rooms are very spacious and cleaned every day. The hotel is situated between the old town and the new town ( the strip ) so you have the best of both towns. Probably about 10-15 minutes walk to both of them.
