Mauger Estate B&B

This is the only place I stay in Albuquerque. Convenient location, charming old home, and fantastic breakfasts. Kudos to Tammy for her attention to detail and her ability to make her guests feel welcomed and appreciated. I have visited many B&B's over the years and this is one of my favorites.

We stayed here for a few nights while exploring magnificent New Mexico. The staff accommodated us for a late check-in, and it was really easy to get in and find our room ready. The rooms are on a smaller size, but really cozy, and we loved the B&B staff. They were always helpful, chatty, and super pleasant to interact with. The breakfast is excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would highly recommend it for those coming to Albuquerque and New Mexico.

Parked on a corner, ten minutes from downtown you will find a beautifully restored, Queen Anne-style bed and breakfast. This dog friendly masterpiece is conveniently located within walking distance of nightclubs, shops and other attractions along Historic Route 66. Leisure travelers enjoy the historic charm of this bed and breakfast, while business travelers capitalize on its location. The calming elegance of the front porch whispers its first home owners, and prominent entrepreneurs of the late 19th century, William and Brittania Mauger, and remains today as the Mauger Estate Bed and Breakfast. Innkeeper,Tammy Walden, was raised on a farm in northwest Kansas where she learned to cook and bake from family members, and further participated in 4-H. Ms. Walden began entering baked goods in the fair at age 10, and won her first grand champion at age 12 for a very tasty Amaretto cake. The baked goods at the Mauger Estate B&B are loved by many, and breakfast is one of the highlights of staying at this beautiful 120-year-old landmark property in the heart of the city. Innkeeper Walden is quick to share in the explorations of the southwest, as guests are pointed in the direction of Albuquerque’s historic Old Town Plaza, a lovely stroll through the Victorian style residential neighborhood just a mile away and greeted by the San Felipe De Neri Church in the heart of Old Town. The quaint streets are beckoned daily by the artists and vendors that create a host of culture. Historic Old Town, the original heart of Albuquerque, offers more than 150 shops, restaurants and galleries, amongst the “Breaking Bad” memorabilia. The Mauger Estate B&B offers several escape packages to include a traverse Bike & Stay, Train to Sante Fe, Relaxing Spa and a Wine Country Package. We chose to explore the beauty and architecture via two wheels. The two-hour bicycle tour included a brief history and tour of Old Town, followed by a lovely pedal through the Rio Grande Bosque Nature Path. Our professional tour guide identified the historic landmarks while showcasing the beautiful scenery, flora and fauna. Authentic Albuquerque, with the longest urban stretch of Route 66 in the country, the “Mother Road” has a long and storied history in Albuquerque. Come see for yourself, as it continues to be a paramount pathway to the many new things to do and explore when you are ready to roll.

We attended an event 5 blocks away so the Maugher Estate was perfectly located. The staff was very attentive and helpful at check-in and our stay was wonderful. We will definite stay there again if we travel to Albuquerque.

Great location, great staff, wonderful breakfast. And just a very well thought out establishment. you want to nice quiet place to stay in Albuquerque choose this. Waking up to a wonderful breakfast was by far my wife and I'a favorite part. Chef even worked with my wife's dietary restrictions.

My sweet chihuahua Lola and I live in Santa Fe and took a one-night-only road trip to ABQ. We stayed in a designer/pet friendly room spotlessly clean and comfortably furnished that opened to a lovely fenced outdoor patio; this definitely is not your typical pet friendly room!! Very upscale accomodation even if not traveling with a dog, it's people friendly too! A small bistro, Slate, is within walking distance, only three blocks. A limited menu but excellent food and a nice wine choice, the servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Tammy, the owner, of Mauger Estate BnB is a gracious hostess who prepares an awesome hot breakfast every morning, not-to-be-missed! Accompanied by scones, biscuits, bacon, fresh fruit, and and homemade granola there's something for everyone.

Mauger Estate B&B is a wonderful place to stay if you visit Albuquerque. The host was wonderful, breakfast delicious, and the room was terrific. Very comfy bed. My wife and I met friends there for a two day getaway in ABQ that included an Isotopes game and a concert at the Kiva theater. Mauger Estates is close to everything and has easy off street parking. Can't say enough good things, highly recommended!!

I am from ABQ, but live in Seattle. I always stay here when visiting because it's the best! It's like coming home at the end of the day, but to a much nicer home than mine. Breakfasts are good, it's centrally located, and the rooms are great.

Although the neighborhood didn't seem very touristic, the house stands out. Every detail in the room was taken care of: linens, pillows, refrigerator, bathroom. It felt like mom has taken care of everything. Breakfast was UNBELIEVABLE! Chrisy went above and beyond to prepare croissants and pastries in the early morning and the buffett could not have been any healthier. Also, went for an early morning run, and the farmer's market in downtown if not far and has excellent coffee and bread selection. Only mistake I made: the room was in the third floor and without elevator, was a little difficult for my friend who had knee issues.

The Mauger Estate BnB is where I will now stay when I visit Alburquerque. The host Tammy and her crew went out of their way to insure we had a wonderful stay. They made me a gluten free breakfast that in no way took a back seat to their regular great breakfast. Afternoon wine and cheeses that are gratus. Rooms clean comfortable and roomy. Good location between Old Town and Central Ave. hot spots.
