Holiday Inn Express Albany Downtown

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Room was very nice and the hotel was close to everything (Capital building, downtown Albany, etc.) walking. However, they provide a free shuttle service for your convenience. Also, the fact that it was close to Greyhound was a definite plus. Plus, the breakfast was better than expected and very filling.

Only issue was poor water pressure in the shower, had to lean against the wall to rinse off

We needed a place to stay after seeing a concert at the Times Union Center. This was the place, at $84 it was a home run. Room was clean, staff was great, and it was a very quick walk (5 minutes) to the Times Union Center.

Convenient location, but not ideal overall. Breakfast was nice to have available, but I didn't use it. Would stay here again when seeking low cost central option.

The hotel was in a part of town that appeared a bit run down. There are not many restaurants nearby. However, the facility was clean, staff were friendly, and the stay was worth the value. I'd stay here again.

The location of the hotel is perfect but it doesn't have bar or coffeeshop

Candy wrappers behind the night table....old and run down, but nice sauna!

It's an ok hotel. I didn't like the sour smell of the room and the towels had stains on them. That was a first for me with the towels it was a little disturbing to know that they don't dispose of the towels frequently enough because the second set I receive were still dingy. My bathroom had a sweaty smell that lingered through the entire stay. The carpet in the room had these wet looking stains everywhere. So I wouldn't stay here again.

For my needs, an overnight stay between train trips into and out of Albany, the hotel was just fine. However, it is hugged by a multi-level interstate on two sides, and parking lots and non-descript buildings on the other two. Granted, noise insulation from the highway was quite good. However, approval of construction of this hotel likely lined the pockets of some government official. Despite trying both of the computers in the Business Center and contacting the front desk, which sought the help of the on-site IT person, I was unable to access my e-mail account, due to a "block by the System Administrator." Come on, folks, basic internet functions like e-mail should be the first things accessible.

location is far from the center of the city. rough neighborhood

we were going to a concert at the Palace Theatre. The shuttle service to and from the venue was super convenient. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the breakfast in the morning. The beds were very comfortable and the staff was attentive and friendly. we would stay here again.

Holiday Inn Express is an easy walk to venues and restaurants in downtown. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Definitely a place I would return to.

Nice quite the best sleep I ever had food was great

Toilet in hotel room would not work. When I asked that it to be repaired after one hour it still had not. When I asked for a credit as compensation for having to use the lobby bath room the hotel desk manager siad she could not offer any CREDIT as my room was booked through this service. She said credit would have to be authorized by the web service. In addition there were other problems using this web service in for work releated travel. Upon presentation of a Tax exempt form since I work for the State of NY the hotell again said they could not refund the state sales tax.

grate place to stay. will return. excelent parking. helpfull staf. fast cab service. needs a bar.

Located right off the highway, but also an easy walk to the Egg, downtown, and restaurants. Above average complimentary breakfast, good free parking. Pool too.

Staff was great! Room was clean and well worth the price paid. Breakfast was good-not gourmet, but better than a lot of other hotels. The Sketchy neighborhood is far enough away that I felt completely safe leaving my car in the parking lot.

We were attending an event at the Times-Union Center. This hotel is just a short walk away so we didn't have to worry about parking/parking fees. Our room was very quiet and comfortable and clean. The woman who checked us in was friendly and gave us all the info we needed. We used the shuttle service, and the driver was really friendly. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. If I attend another Times-Union event, this hotel would be my only choice.

it was great location to the arena Times union center the staff was very friendly. the room was great will go again
