Firstly just upon arriving to this amazing and professional looking hotel the reception staff Tariqe tried to tell us the tourist tax was 350 dirhams I told him it was 250 knowing full well I had this in writing on my hotel voucher, he got angry and insisted it was 350; so I showed him the voucher and only then he agreed it was 250. After giving him 300 dirhams he still short changed us and gave back 40 instead of 50. The other reception staff Mustafa will shortchange you every time you exchange money and will ge5 angry at you and insist this is the rate but when you calculate it it doesn't add up; he will then pretend like he's doing something so you go away. E.g I gave him £60 and only received 640 and he insisted it was correct at the rate he was telling me which was 11.7; 60×11.7 is 702, he pocketed 60 for himself. The rooms were a disgrace and no towels were given only after asking the staff 10 times finally you'd receive one 2 if your lucky and give them a tip. I have to say Mustafa at reception does not belong at a job where you are supposed to be friendly; upon checkout he said nothing and all was good when we were getting our bags to leave he insisted we had to pay a 300 dhirams late checkout fee which I queried why he didn't say this when we actually checked out hours ago (I'm pretty sure it's because we didn't leave him any 'tip' and it was his last chance to get some money out of us) he got angry and grabbed my bags through them in the luggage room damaging my suitcase, slammed the door and pulled out the handle so there was no way to get them and said I don't get my bags without 300 dirhams. I have this all on recording which even he stated he doesn't care this is morrocco they don't care about videos. And judging by the response the palais des rose management team has been giving to other reviews they clearly don't care and just copy and paste the same message. Avoid if your looking for a good resort experience this is not that.

first of all it's such a shame.... this hotel used to be wonderful, when i came here with my parents as a kid, couple of years later now as an adult, it's probably THE WORST hotel experience i ever had (for the level of comfort advertised 5-stars they said but there's no mention of the actual rating anywhere in the hotel that should've already made me tick anyway.....), most of the staff was unhelpful (not all, some are very nice but still), trying to get rid of you asap when asked ANYTHING, the tv was not working at first, same thing with the safe (except it never worked), the light bulbs were broken in some places, the floor tiles destroyed, the furniture full of dust and humidity so much that it triggered my allergies , the shower tape was hold together with duck tape, 2 miserable mini-bottle of shampoo in the shower, no towels i had to ask 5 TIMES on the phone and then asking directly the cleaning staff to get some that had HOLES in them, the windows seems to not have been cleaned since the last time i was here.... nearly A DECADE AGO (it's hard to see that sliver of sea under all that bird crap), the restaurant was decent at least, however it ends at 10pm, and apparently so does room service but that's only if you actually manage to get to them i had to go through 3 different number (the reception staff just said keep calling mate you'll get to them), ended on VOICE MAIL (seriously voice mail) several times, called the actual kitchen trough a number i got from one of staff in the hallways, to finally hear "my colleague didn't hear the phone sorry, and ah no ones in the kitchen bye" and did i talk about the spiders? cause they're EVERYWHERE, and then of course there's the pool under construction (don't believe the photo in the main page they took a large chunk of it, it's not nearly half the size it's used to be) the non existant long chairs on the "private chunk of beach" (riddled with sharp twigs and where beach merchants bother you every 5 minutes) etc tl;dr: RUN YOU FOOLS, get yourself a tent or something, it's still better that this mess

Appalling to be taking peoples money in full knowledge that the place is a building site. Rude staff, aggressive attitude, bent as a 9 Bob note. Bill facilities. An alternative pool is provided, covered in seagull crap and only 3 lounges. Yes the reception is beautifully decorated, however an atmosphere that would keep the devil at bay keeps most people away.

a complete construction site. very worn out hotel, tiny souvenier shop what begs you for business. nice garden area where you are not allowed to enter. a dangerous hotel with broken floor tiles, missing roof struts, exposed wires and plenty of seagull crap everywhere.

staff horrible at the reception i had to call the police for charges unauthorized on my credit card i was refunded but want to warn you for the scam . i will say if you want to stay here pay only cash ...frequent traveler

Booked a short stay and for some reason always feel that things will improve with this hotel but sadly it just gets bad. The only saviour this hotel has is some of the staff who are real Gems such as Mohammed the Porter Service Manager, Rashid who has been working at the hotel over 15 years and is managing the Bar outside and Soufiane the Security Manager who made us feel safe and secure. All other staff especially reception staff need to learn how to provide excellent customer service with a smile. Having booked our stay directly with the hotel a price pre-agreed in dhirams according to me was slightly cheaper than going online, until I arrived at the hotel and realised it makes no difference whatsoever. What was even more disappointing was I was not pre-informed upon reservation enquiry nor when checking in that the Pool is under construction, we found out next day for ourselves when we were going to the pool area in the morning!!! so disappointing and unfair feel robbed. So we paid full price for facilities that we could not 100% benefit from nice. I had to request for toilet paper, which had I had waited almost 10 minutes and still no staff arrived, I then had taken it upon myself to go to housekeeping and request this. I had called reception desk to ask for a iron, as I know that from previous experience there is a laundry service which guests pay but a iron is also available upon request, I was told no iron, I stated I only need to iron one garment which will take less than 5mins, I was informed by staff who challenged me that there is no iron at all (hard to believe given the size of this hotel and considering I am aware there is), I was then informed that the staff member can collect my garment and iron it for a cost, and then it will be ready in 2hrs! (really) so disappointing. No wifi in bedrooms, again apparently you have to pay extra if you want this service too. General lobby toilets and lifts smelt of urine, really bad. This hotel (and for most business) is all about making money, even to the point no kettles in the room if you wanted to make a cup of tea at night, again you have to ask room service who will charge, if you want clothes ironed ask laundry service and there will be a charge. I think if staff went the extra mile it would make a massive difference. Management really need to review staff training and development on how to provide exceptional customer service, by going the extra mile. Guests need to be made aware prior to booking if pool or any other facilities are not on offer or limited. It's not fair on the guests at all. Upon checking out again, staff need to deal with customers fairly, there were 3 guests including me at reception, I was 2nd in waiting, the first guest had taken almost 10 minutes, as soon as the staff had finishing dealing with the guests she skipped me and went straight to another guest member. So rude, but at this point because I was checking out I did not care to even mention it. Would love to speak to management and discuss how things can be improved.

We arrived on 13 April for a two week family holiday in a junior suite, with pool and seaviews. We have been repeat clients to this hotel solely for its location on the beach and its beautiful pool so we were shocked to find that they had dug up the pool. We were told that we could use the pool at the spa which was very small with no space for sun loungers or what was left of the main pool amidst the builders and piles of rubble/debris. We had to walk through this building site to get to the rundown private beach with holes, metal rods sticking out of the ground, a total breach of health and safety. This hotel is still being advertised with the pool so be warned there is no pool. Have a look at the photos taken last week. The director of the hotel was no where to be seen and we received no apology. The first week of our holiday was ruined so we moved to a nearby hotel. If you have booked this hotel check before you go that the renovations are complete, if they tell you the truth. We just don't want anyone else to waste there money on a sun holiday with no pool.

Booked very last minute via agent so did not have much choice Hotel itself is a nice old Moorish architecture..dated but nice Comfortable bedrooms We had a very spacious room Breakfast..very mediocre free for all in terms of seating and limited choices. Best part was coffee. Waiters just rushing about and mostly ignored us. Beach cafe was again ok but nothing great. Dinner..buffet and would not recommend. Food was poor really. Staff..not that helpful..maybe due to language barrier..their English was poor SPA...overpriced with unfriendly staff..don't even think about it. Hardly anyone using the SPA and treatments. And have to pay to use the pool at the SPA. Nice beach...good for surfing and clean Improving food and staff attitude and this would be a great place to stay in Agadir

I have visited this hotel, for 3 days in august, last year, there were no towels in the room, no clean bathroom, there were stains on the sheets of the bed, and there was this girl at reception who was ill mannered, and could not speak english, whome i called several times, and she did not helped at all,the receptio Manager, was the most unprofessional manager i came across, in other Words ,Avoid this hotel with all costs.
